>half way through the month
I can literally not wait.
Are you looking forward to it /v/?
30 bucks is a bit much, yeah. I don't mind though. It's probably one of the few games worth buying at the moment, and I honestly don't buy that many games anymore.
Plus this will show the developers that PC want stuff like this too, which is a nice perk.
I can't decide between strider and assassin.
I know you can go in the folders and do the whole swap save file thing but holy fuck, a PC game with one save file is completely unacceptable.
For someone who doesn't know anything about anything, and thinks this games looks neato:
Can I play entirely without online interaction?
Like, can I make my own party of my own NPCs?
Is that even possible?
Or will this leave me horribly gimped?
While I agree with you, would also argue that it works if it adds to the gameplay.
Undermeme, it would have ruined some of the experience if you could simply have a second save file.
I don't know if it's a pro or a con for DD though, but maybe it'll make you cherish your character more? I don't know, I haven't played it before.
Oh, so I can't go full autist mode and customize and build my entire party with a character creator? Oh well, guess I'll have to look into pawns like the game originally intended.
As someone who played the shit out of DA on ps3, if you do not play pure magic or magic hybrid you are doing it wrong.
Arc of Deliverance on warrior has its moments but god damn the magic is too good to pass up.
I know what you are saying, it just stings to have that many classes and getting stuck with just one (officially). I would even be OK with the game not letting me roll another character till I reach certain level/milestone in the story, with some justification, of course.
I agree. Something like, if you get half way through the game, you unlock another save slot.
Oh well, here's hoping for mods.
Though that may be asking for a little much, but we'll see.
Its an action game in the most barren open world imaginable. This is the game that makes the argument whether gameplay on its own can make the game. Everything else its absolute reused dogshit but the gameplay is pretty good. Like really good.
>between turn-based like dragon age 1 and souls
What a weird description. You can argue it has a good chunk of Souls in it, if only because the game really really wants to beat your ass.
But it's more "open world" and way more party-based than Dark Souls.
Dark Souls Lite: With Friends in a Very Open World While Hunting Monsters Edition
It sounds weird, but it's an amazing game.
This is true. Boring world, boring lore, boring quests, but fun and interesting combat and a somewhat fleshed out NPC companion system. If that sounds appealing then give it a try.
I don't know if I agree with this. The lore is decent and the world is meant to feel huge. The world in Xenoblade was just as big and just as barren in the sense you guys are describing it, but it was no worse of a game for it.
Not to mention this game feels like Monster Hunter, which I kinda' like.
The plot takes a backseat while you just go out and kill cool things with over-chatty NPCs.
The thing I liked about DD originally was how much it felt like an actual adventure.
Every big beast I killed was rough, but it felt like this was actually how well seasoned adventurers would fare against the creature of choice.
And I liked that. You don't see that often enough.
>is it like Dark Souls
>every third person action game is dark souls because memes also I am retarded please fuck my face
No, it's not like Dork Soils, and that's for the best. For starters the combat is actually interesting.
>tfw filthy pole and want a boxed version that comes week later
No it plays completely differently. First you get up to 3 AI controlled allies who can help you. The pawns are recruited mostly through online play and people can train their pawns to fight certain enemies and learn your tendencies by traveling with their owner.
It's more like squad-based combat but the pawns provide support and generally make you look like the star.
Confirmed the game can go up to 150 fps.
>Q) What’s the maximum frame rate supported by the game?
>A) Dragon’s Dogma currently supports up to 150 frames per second, which means the game can take full advantage of 144Hz monitors provided you have a capable PC. Please note an upper limit has been imposed at 150 fps in order to avoid any potential game-breaking issues. (e.g., physics interaction and rendering error)
I'm torn between Mystic Knight or Magic Archer. I switched to them and Warrior every now and then. My problem is what I'm going to make my pawn. I'm thinking I'll make her a Sorcerer this time because when I played my classes, she would always be what I changed from (If I change from Warrior to Strider, she'd become the Warrior, if I was Mystic Knight or Magic Archer, she'd be Warrior or Strider). Having her be a straight up Sorcerer would keep me from having to re-equip both of us when I change classes.
It's called marketeers.
It's the most obvious shilling campaign since the first Borderlands.
Notice how in every one of these threads half the posts are about preordering the game, and you always get the same le ebin images of posts about the game.
In fact, I can predict someone will post that obnoxiously edited image with DD screenshots as backgrounds about /v/ being so le quirky about lolis.
In fact, it's because of this obvious shilling that i'm going to pirate it.
>generally make you look like the star
I like this. So many games with party-based mechanics always end up feeling as if I'm just "one of the band". A drummer or something.
Sometimes I want to feel like the lead singer, you know? And Dragon's Dogma does that.
It makes everyone but me feel like the supporting cast.
15th cannot come fast enough.
And instead of talking about the game, the only thing that gets discussed is ''Oh my god, i'm about to buy this game too! Buy this game, oh my god where can I preload?''
You couldn't be more obvious even if you tried.
So, you're going to pirate a game because you think it's being shilled?
Shouldn't you instead be trying to stop the shilling by, you know, not bumping the thread that does said shilling?
And now you're in a predicament, because if you reply to this you'll have bumped the thread again.
>And instead of talking about the game
Well the game isn't out yet, so that'd be rather difficult. A lot of people, not including myself, haven't played DD before.
Thus promoting discussion about the game seems a little silly, right? The absolute best that can come out of that is speculation, and the worst is ruining it for storyfags.
Post yfw Dragon's Dogma 2 comes out as a
>even better pawn AI
>the game they originally wanted to make
I've only made one thread. Ever. I bought the game today.
But I guess a screenshot isn't good enough, huh? You'd rather convince yourself I'm a shill than a person who's looking forward to the game.
What weird times we live in.
I can live with no quicksaves, and somewhat understand why they wouldn't want to implement them. I own the game on ps3 and it wasn't buggy for me. Then again I haven't completed it yet so maybe someone has experienced bad bugs during gameplay.
I'm gonna habe to avoid DD threads on /v/ though. It's gonna be nothing but "wooah look a thess shit console grafix" and "so why is this game considered great again?"
Too bad. DD threads were some of my favorites on /v/.
Seriously guys, the game isn't that great. It's decent at best. Better pipe down on the hype before you hurt yourselves. The lack of enemies (70% of the games enemies are goblins and lizards), the way class progression forces you to play classes you are not planning on playing and punishes you for trying out a lot of different classes are some real flaws
I honestly don't believe there are as many marketeers on /v/ as /v/ likes to think there are.
Sure, there are probably a good dozen, and they make themselves known, for sure, but I don't believe it is a problem as rampant as Anons think.
It's a great defense against threads they don't like though.
>welcomes shills of any kind
Activision seems to shill here every now and then.
I remember that first week of
>''GUYS, THE TAKEN KING TOTALLY FIXES DESTINY, IT'S GOOD NOW BUY IT YOU FUCKS''
and then suddenly everyone stopped talking about it.
But i played it for over 200 hours on PS3, and you didn't. Why are you lying?
It's a FACT that 70% of the overworld is nothing but Goblins and Lizards, the occasional Bandits and then a Chimera or Cyclops here and there
I too remember Activision's attempts. I'm also convinced there was at least one very active motherfucker for Fallout 4, but the line between meme and marketeer was blurred with that one.
I sitll can't believe the one about Black Ops 3.
Fucking thread full of people saying that cowadooty had the best DLC model of the industry and that BO3 was saving gaming.
There's a second or 2 lag when you cast really high powered stuff.
That's enough for /v/to shit the bed over.
Most won't care.
The vocal group will make a big point about how the game is unstable and almost unplayable because of it.
>Goblins and Lizards
Not him, and I'm honestly not trying to disprove your point, but those creatures are canonically in majority. They're everywhere in the game, because the lore says they're everywhere in the world.
It's like complaining about there being too many ants in an anthill. Not wrong, but not relevant either.
Quicksaves would have ruined something like this.
I say bring back savepoints and give people the ability to save when exiting a game instead.
That way you could leave whenever you wanted, and save when the game thought it would be required.
I don't know, any form of allowing save-scumming is just silly the way I see it and should be bread out of the design process.
Are you retarded? I hope you realize the "lore" was written after the game was directed. It's not that they have literally no enemy variety in the game because WE NEED TO STAY TRUE TO LORE, they wrote the lore after they spent their limited budget. No enemy variety in an action RPG is bad, no matter if the lore says "b-buts thats how this world works!"
Besides, even then you could have many subclasses of different enemies, which dragons dogma doesn't have. There are like 3 kinds of lizards that are pretty much all the same and 3 kinds of goblins.
Your excuse is pathetic.
>"lore" was written after the game was directed
Right, right, and I'm sure your next post will link to a riveting and believable source.
Goblins are small creatures with vast numbers who employ tools to accomplish their goals. Sounds like a species that wouldn't do too bad biologically to me.
And again, I'm not arguing with you. There SHOULD be more variety in the enemies. I agree.
But considering this was a design-choice, I can also totally see why they went with it. It makes sense to me.
If everyone got to play every game, we'd have more fun.
I did that a few months ago when my 360 died. Still getting the pc version, so this will be my 4th time buying the game.
1st for when it came out, second for when Dark Arisen came out, third for when my xbox died and I realized my old disc had that ring scratch in it from my old xbox and it wouldn't read anymore.
Fourth will be the pc release.
Massive new dungeon that will kick your ass with loads of new gear and a few upgrades to skills and spells.
It seriously expands on the whole game, I envy you that you get to experience it for the first time. Shit can get downright spooky.
Not him, but me too. Consoles wither, die. The PC is eternal. A game on PC is a game I can practically play forever.
This is not me trying to start a consolewar thread. I bought a console for ever gen.
>Fight the Golem at the Tomb of an old Hero, or whatever that place is called
>Look out accross the sea
>Distant shores I'll never explore
>Open my map
>Sudden overwhelming sadness grips me
>This is the only region I'll ever explore in DD's engine
>There will never be more expansions
>There will never be another game just like it
>Have to turn the game off
Not him, but this is what I like. Dungeons should be something to dread. It should be intimidating to find beasts that lurk in the shadows. Dark Arisen did that sooo well.
The atmosphere in BBI is fantastic
No idea why I saved this but god damn
>We’d love to hear the opinions and feedback from players of the upcoming PC port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series.
We should shill this game on reddit and other popular websites
>tfw temped to buy more copies to give away on /v/ so we can get a DD2
Bloodborn is one of the the highest selling game on the PS4 and it took a year for it to hit the million marker.
Undertale, an indie-game, knocked 3/4th of that out in a few months.
If mods become a reality and we can somehow randomize or alter enemy spawns and increase difficulty at higher levels I'll bust a nut. The game getting too easy that it bored me was the only thing that kept me from playing after level 200.
>mod scaling based on some sort of percentage after a certain level
>perhaps even a per-zone level so that you can can breach gaps by grinding but never completely dominate enemies
>Believing Capcom's lies
Don't get me wrong, I've got DD on pre-order because I like the game and want it on PC, but you're daft if you think there's serious plans for a sequel just hinging on PC sales.
This is Capcom, you all should know better.
I get chills every time I listen to this.
I used the pants for my arisen on the shirt on my pawn, but they're easily replaced. still sucks they're not in.
Oh don't get me wrong. I am downright assuming every word from Capcom is a blatant lie.
Mega Man Legends 3 will never be forgiven you fucking cunts.
That being said, I don't mind supporting a game I like. Even if it doesn't get a sequel, at least I can enjoy the old one one more time, and my Xbox is broken beyond repair.
>from the most toxic demographic in video games
It's the npc party system, each player creates their own pawn who they adventure with and can recruit up to two extra pawns made by other players. If you pirate it you'll have to deal with randomized pawns who always have shit skills, gear, vocations and AI. Not to mention since you can't rent out your own pawn you'll be rifit crystal starved as fuck and you need RC to get late game gear.
you've never played the game before? basically you make two characters, one you'll play and one to follow you around. you can teach it shit and make it play in a way that you want. when you sleep, it uploads to a server where other people can play with it. you can use up to two of other peoples's custom made pawns. they can either hinder your game or give you amazing teamwork.
>You get RC from random drops and quests in the PC version
Just like in the console version, but when you need hundreds of thousands of RC random drops and quest rewards just won't cut it
if someone is going to pirate it, they can as well just add some RC in cheat engine.
You naive little bastard.
It works like this
>"Dragon's Dogma?" "What's that?"
>"Wow I only get one annoying follower? That's gay"
>gets ass kicked because he's adventuring alone
>"Wow I better put on God Mode"
>beats the game in an hour because it's short as fuck and he never wanted for gold, equipment, or RC
>"Wow, /v/ as usual was full of shit this game fucking blew"
Mark my words.
>It's an interesting social experiment to see if a PC release actually poisons the fanbase.
It's poisoned the three I've seen this happen to already. Can't imagine it'll be somehow different this time.
Cool beans. Let's hope I see somebody I like, if not, I'll choose the broist dude.
No, it isn't, but Japan has never been shy of that kind of shit anyway. It's only a problem if the girl is 20+ years old. She should have stopped eating clams and moved onto chipolatas by then.
>Let's hope I see somebody I like
It's not the PC fanbase doing the poisoning, it's the falseflaggers doing it to ruin the reputation of "Mustard Rice".
come the fuck on, this is fucking /v/, you think shitposting isn't going to happen? We have fucking crying Wojacks now for falseflags which is the biggest meme on /v/ at the moment, so we're going to see this shit regardless.
Just like when Bloodborne came out, PCfags shitposted with all the terrible glitches and shit it had, then they gave up and moved on to another game.
I mean, you can't prove who is shitposting at the end, but PCfags aren't going to shitpost the game, they're grateful for it coming in the first place. But falseflaggers and those who don't want the game? Yeah. They'll shitpost.
So unless you can think of a way to find out if they actually have the game (and even if they do, they'll shitpost for lulz!!!!) then we're fucked.
Screencap this post, but mainly this bit. We'll see the following types of threads
>I just bought Dragons Dogma after it was shilled on /v/ for months. It's a load of fucking shit. How could cucksolers claim this is a good game? It looks like shit and handles like shit, it's repetitive and boring and blahblahblahblah
>tfw own a ps4, ps3, Wii and PC
>tfw I played Dragons dogma fucking years ago and other than the interesting silly part of climbing on monsters the game was generic as fuck
>PC Only gamers are excited for a game I played years ago and thought it was average.
>It's not the PC fanbase doing the poisoning, it's the falseflaggers doing it to ruin the reputation of "Mustard Rice".
Pretty sure mustards are capable of doing that on their own.
>is she one of the ones unable to be lez'd up?
Someone should just screencap a post saying that the majority of us excited are old console players.
Like every thread people try to rile up PC gamers in the vain hope to start some shitposting train forgetting that most of the audience for it have already played it and loved it.
It's easier to shitpost when the game is already on your PC so you can flip between playing through the game to find things to bitch about while actively bitching about it on /v/.
Console-only anon's would do the same thing if they had the chance.
At least that's how I see it.
I think it's mostly just the size. Most people on here are primarily PC gamers so when a game gets a PC release the community tends to grow a lot.
And pretty much no matter what community, the bigger it gets the worse it becomes.
It it was the reverse, and say PS4 players were in the vast majority here, it would be the same deal.
>mfw I was in the thread where that anon made that image
You're retarded if you think marketers would use loli to try and sell a game, especially in this day and age. That's okay though, go ahead and be a paranoid fuck, I hope you can make a nice tricorn pirate hat out of tinfoil, you'll be needing it.
The brand of shitposting changes when a game goes to PC, and gets worse. But that's because, I would argue, the PC player is worse. Maybe it's "not even their fault", but they are.
They come from a world of of mods fixing gameplay, cheating, and outright stealing their games. They have an unprecedented level of entitlement that simple isn't present in any other fanbase, and it colors everything they say.
A big thing is that these late console port threads are often hostile by default- both sides have smug children shouting catchphrases like NEVER EVER and MUSTARD RACE WINS AGAIN
Then you have false flag shitposting on both sides and all the cool stuff, plus of course the bigger community
To be fair. I would say boundless acceptance and fanboyism is worse than entitlement.
I'd rather see someone be(legitimately, not shitpostingly) critical to the game instead of just gushing over it and accepting all it's faults like it's nothing, even though it's one of my favorite games of all time.
We need more questioning in the industry. Not less.
>have a weak spot for bob cut hairs
>one of the games waifus got one
post that girl that i forgot her name again
So far I've not noticed that much of a difference to DD threads apart from the constant "PCfags ruined Dragon's Dogma threads" and "stop talking about this game so much" posts.
I mean. The shitposting is pretty out there. But that's understandable seeing as there like one DD thread on here at all times now and that sort of exposure leads to more shitposters.
But you know, if you ignore that layer of shitposting a lot of the discussion have been similar to how I usually see DD threads.
>I'd rather see someone be(legitimately, not shitpostingly) critical to the game
Me too. The problem is "Doesn't run at 150fps so it's console shit" isn't a criticism.
Plus you can't ask someone who spends more time modding away -perceived- flaws in a game than playing a game to accurately or objectively review said game.
This is /v/
>/v/ reaction: SHILL SHILL SHILL SHILL FANBOY SHILL SHILL SHILL
>/v/ reaction: TROLL SHITPOSTER BAITER FALSEFLAGGER
This assumption that PCfags make a community worse is fucking mindblowing. It's been drummed into /v/ermin's head for so long that "hur dur exclusives are best!!!" that people think anybody else getting the game is bad and that they'll immediately ruin it.
I don't see PCfags going "OMG KEKSOLERS WILL RUIN PILLARS OF ETERNITY COMMUNITY CAUSE THEY GOT THE GAME". No. It's only console players who claim PCfags do it. It's fucking disgusting and makes us look like pathetic faggots who can't bare to see anybody else enjoy something.
None of you could say with a straight face that Dragons Dogma wasn't limited on the PS3 and that having a good PC to run it on wouldn't make the game more enjoyable.
See. This is the kind of shitpost I'm talking about. The fact you've used the word "perceived" doesn't change the fact that PCfags can, if they want, change something. On consoles, you can't, unless they suddenly sell DLC's.
>OMG KEKSOLERS WILL RUIN PILLARS OF ETERNITY COMMUNITY CAUSE THEY GOT THE GAME
Well that's because it's not only a shit game, but you guys are the worse community. What is there to ruin?
>>/v/ reaction: TROLL SHITPOSTER BAITER FALSEFLAGGER
this has only become a thing in the last year or so
thank redditors for their "it's just your opinion bro skyrim isn't that bad let's all be friends :)" attitude
I'm an avid PC "gamer" and it's true that le pcmasterrace is full of entitled assholes. They meme and hack a game to shit as soon as they get their hands on it. Sorry that it offends you but it's the truth, PCocks ruin fanbases. Just look at DaS
Your beloved can be almost anyone in the game, even that nobles very young daughter. The hard part about getting Mercedes as your beloved is her becoming inacessible for part of the game. During that time someone else usually overtakes her due to the way the game 'tallies' points.
>During that time someone else usually overtakes her due to the way the game 'tallies' points.
All you have to do to wind up with Mercedes is not talk to anyone who my also have maximum Affinity with you from the time she leaves to the moment you confront Greg.
That may mean handing out some Effluvium, but it's definitely something you can control.
Going Shota warrior boy who out to save the world.
Pawn will be an Ara~Ara old lady who there to help the young hero on his quest though sometimes she has to pick him up and walk him away from stabbing griffons because griffons are assholes.
Why would I lie about playing Dragon's Dogma? It's not exactly a grand feat.
I wish there was some easy way to quickly see which NPC's you had max affinity with beyond just the sound and pink hue. Like a list or something. I always end up forgetting some random NPC I didn't even know I had max affinity with like Reynard.
>wanting to fit in
>on an anonymous anime forum
not even that guy but you're retarded as fuck
Because you didn't know why she was being called she-goat and you were curious. Once people said play the game and stuff you started googling it and are now acting like you remember and played it to fit in.
Most of /v/ want to either be the little loli or have a loli pawn.
I want the shota boy because its just funny seeing a small child killing the shit out of a griffon that is like the size of a stadium compared to him.
Starter guide to vocations:
-sword n board dude with offensive and defensive skills
-gets a very nice skill (Dragon's Maw) that chews shit up
-pretty balanced stat distribution
-slow skills, can only equip 3 at a time
-potential for xboxhueg damage
-tons of HP gain
-bow n daggers
-decent stamina gain
-lets you use snares to trips shit up as well as high-mobility bow skills

-spells so big and bad they obscure the screen
-good buffs and ability to cure debuffs
-generally fucks shit up
hybrids in next post
Not if you play a mage anon.
I had the androgynous cleric as my pawn that had a dual gender name and a voice that was hard to tell if male or female.
Cleric was very popular online because I min maxed the clerics equipment like a mother fucker and the cleric was pure heals.
-sword, board, dagger, and/or bow
-highest attack gain in-game
-built around counter skills for sword and dagger
-sword gets a Gouge skill for mounting and stabbing enemies
-daggers let you go 2fast
-bow has some skills i guess
-shield has more counters
-fire and forget archer
-best fucking vocation
-can set yourself on fucking fire and go to town with daggers
-mace n magick shield
-self-buffs and magick attacks paired with decent melee attacks
-has the 10 FPS cannon, a mounted ball of magic that you strike to fire and home in on enemies
-relies on perfect blocks to really do tons of damage on enemies
not much else to say other than everything is viable and play what you like
and lategame (BBI) gear pretty much makes up for any stat gain you might've missed so don't worry about minmaxing
Mage and Sorc are garbage early game since they're super squishy and lack shields and dodges.
Sorc gets really fucking strong near the end, since you're always one spell away from ending a fight if you build right.
>Game needs to sell well to get sequels
Capcom knows that funding big games like this is only possible now if they sell on consoles and PC.
So yeah. Hope the PC release sells so Dragons Dogma 2 can happen for PS4/BONE and PC.
>tfw when you manage to pick up a great sorc pawn
Man. They don't hit often but god damn they hit hard.
Well, I finally rolled a Mystic Knight.
Their stat growth is the fucking best, holy shit. The only one better is Strider, and only for 10-100.
Holy Magick Cannon and Ruinous Sigil really does fuck shit up, but the indirect nature of it makes it less useful on shit like Cursed Dragons than, say, HFB.
Class is fucking boring though. It feels like spectator mode attacking a Sigil while everyone else is actually attacking the enemy.
PC Gamer: Between this release and Dragon’s Dogma Online, it seems like the series still means a lot to Capcom—where is Capcom at in terms of considering a sequel?
Matsukawa: Thanks for your interest in the series! The Dragon’s Dogma development team members often talk about the possibility of a sequel. We’d love to hear the opinions and feedback from players of the upcoming PC port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series.
>Matsukawa: We'd like to hear the opinions of fucking hardware baby faggots who are more concerned with fps counts, rather than the loyal fanbase that has supported our game over the last three years.
It might not be as fine tuned as some games. But the customization is pretty insane. Especially when it comes to height and stuff. Not only can you change height and weight, you can do it for individual limbs as well, and even better, all of that has a direct influence on the gameplay.
If you make a small character you will have an easier time climbing and you can go into goblin holes. And if you make a tall character you can carry more and your weapons hit ever so slightly longer.
>you can go into goblin holes
>the only thing in it is a mushroom and some rags
I'll stay fuckhuge, thanks.
I've never played a small character so I've never once been inside one.
Though yeah. Sadly the game is more optimized for playing big character. I live the small ones to the pawns instead.
With every day closer to release, Dragon's Dogma threads get shittier and shittier.
By the time it actually releases, the only ones left will be insufferable whining faggots crying about the PC version and how this isn't Dark Souls, and like 5 die hard fans who will defend the game till they die.
Look for sorcs with support magic and holy boon/affinity with no other spells. Often when you see that the master played sorc too and trained their pawn to use Focus Bolts with holy boon which are ludicrously strong, and cast support spells. Just kind of a magic cannon, bonus if they're utilitarian, they'll stay away from the fray.
Alternatively when picking out a sorc pawn online, look for one that has high ingle and levin. They do a ton of damage and hit all the time too.
>Aelinore is a sneaky slut
>Madeline is a greedy slut
>Selene isn't even a proper human
>Quina is Yandere and fairly boring
>Mercedes don't give no a fuck about you and just wants to be a knight
Who best beloved?
Not counting Fournival.
Alright, so apparently a retail store near me is selling a disc version for 70 kiwi bucks. On steam it is 42.
Is the physical version worth it?
Is it even real? Isn't it a digital only release? Is this even legal to tell me they're selling something they're not? I can't decide
This is one of Boris's(creator of ENB) favorite games. He's already confirmed that he'll be creating ENB for Dragon's Dogma. The hardware baby faggots will get their pretty graphics and enjoy the game.
Yeah but I'm not making myself crazy by looking at the store page everyday, or at all really.
I will never understand "hype" and stuff, I mean sure go get excited for something but don't get so excited it's impossible to not be disappointed in the final product.
>went Mage>Sorc>MA in console
>all these interesting other classes I can build around
>still compelled to go Mage>Sorc>MA again
I can't make decisions by myself
assassin or sorcerer
The two are on pretty much the exact opposite sides of the spectrum of types of gameplay. I prefer magic, but Assassin is apparently a great deal of fun with ridiculous speed and heavy hitting combo attacks.
>''GUYS, THE TAKEN KING TOTALLY FIXES DESTINY, IT'S GOOD NOW BUY IT YOU FUCKS''
That's not marketers, it's morons who got roped into buying a shitty game. they stick with it, and when a patch/xpac fixes a few things they think it's the second coming of christ because they're accustomed to unadulterated shit.
assassin if you want to go fast
sorcerer if you want to roll with da wizards
I do like fast, so I guess I'll go with assassin
So /v/ which class is best for my style? I usually like slow but hard hitting weapons (think ultra gs in ds or GS/Hammer/HH in monhun) but also i would like some magic since i've heard that magic in this game is actually fun and rewarding. If that's not possible can i just play as a generic paladin with some kind of magic/holy magic on the side?
Mystic Knight might be what you're after. It's magic of all kinds paired with a magick shield and mace. You can time blocked attacks to shoot shit from your shield, make giant rock pillars spear up from the ground, make giant cannons that home in on enemies, etc etc.
Warrior is the heavy weapon class with huge greatswords and mauls and whatnot, but no magick whatsoever. Amazingly satisfying attacks though.
The Warrior is is hard hitting, slow and requires a lot of patience. But yeah, he has no magic.
If you want a hybrid paladin type then your best bet is Mystic Knight. Though he's more of the tanky kind of paladin hiding behind a big shield(though he can still dish out great DPS). But don't expect a lot of slow strong melee attacks with him.
any good videos of gameplay of these two classes? both sound interesting, i don't mind medium size blunt weapons if that gets me more versatility. That timing thing on the shield kind of sounds like a parry, is it?
can i do this with the warrior?
Who else want to bet half of /v/ is going to be really disappointed in this game because everyone is hyping it to the moon and back?
I mean, the performance was always the biggest problem, but even then it was still a pretty flawed gem.
some of the skills are actually named parry, so yes
blunt weapons look more stylish than the blades
and yes you can do pretty much exactly what's in that video - there's a webm around /v/ that shows a guy 1-hit killing a griffin with a move that looks exactly like the one in the video called Arc of Deliverance
it's satisfying to pull off for sure
Friendly reminder that your pawn will have to look like this to get hired.
Hard is brutal in the beginning while normal is a walk in the park all game. The only difference is on hard you actually get enough money to buy equips which you don't get on normal. Also even at the later stages in the game while on hard most enemies will destroy you and most big things can can two hit you if you picked classes that don't add health.
Considering everything else about this port seems well made the draw distance seems like something that was hardcoded into the original game to even make it run so fucking with it was like house of cards.
But yes that's super disappointing.
I dunno, do you want to hit fast & hard while climbing all over the place or do you want to stand still for five minutes before obscuring the entire screen and having everything die?
I have two sorcerer pawns so I could do both Seriously, so many times it's just me and my warrior pawn attacking the enemy with the two sorcerer pawns standing there casting, then all of a sudden I can't see anything behind all these meteors and glaciers and then everything is dead.
>tfw Dragon's Dogma releases the same day as the next Diablo 3 season
Damnit, i want to play both
How are you all so hyped for a game that released 3 years ago?
Damn, how long do you guys think it's gonna take for him? I would like to play the game from the launch, since i already pre-ordered it, and would like to start playing the game at the same time most v-visitors do BUUUUUUT...
i sure would like to go full-on masterrace mode on that fucker, with better fps AND a good looking enb.
maybe the enb injection itself wont take long. But a good ENB and not some dof blurry piece of shit config? that usually takes a while. Just play it first normal and then for your second character do it with a decent enb
Haha dragons dogma is such a great game, suck it mustards you never EVER going to play it
who cares, dragons dogma is not even that good
is just skyrim with good combat
suck it mustards
Holy shit Meteor Shot sniping with Blast Arrows is gratifying. And the quiver looks cool as hell too.
>we should only hype for shit like fallout 4 and metal gear?
But both of those suck ass. I'd rather play DD than either of them.
What pawn should I get if I'm playing an assassin?
I kinda always went with a fighter since it seems like a better dynamic, but I'm not sure if making the pawn a mage/sorcerer isn't a better idea due to you actually being able to customize her shit, while any fighter could do the trick.
I know magic archer is a thing, is it possible to use normal archer skills at the beginning of the game?
Knowing my luck with class choices, archers are probably a bit squishy too.
HOLY SHIT ANONS
IS IT HAPPENING???!?
Seems that way.
>This is a game that already looks great on Xbox 360 and PS3
