Personally I really liked it, and I went in wanting to hate it. Starts out slow, but it gets much better. It's linear, but the gameplay is fun enough and feels satisfying. There were a few fairly powerful moments in the story, too, if that's what you go in for.
There is literally not a single remarkable thing about the story of this game. I tried to critique it in previous threads, but I just couldn't. It's not even that the story is bad in the traditional sense, it's just bland, dry, not innovative, cookie-cutter zombie stuff (or fungi stuff, to not trigger any of the autists), which is, I reckon, exactly that which makes it feel like garbage.
this thread made me took a look at it since I recently bought a PS4 and I'm looking for something to get for it in the future that isn't bloodborne or infamous second son found this http://www.amazon.ca/The-Last-Us-Remastered-PlayStation/dp/B00JQ8UWZ0 look at how much I can save!
Also unrelated but, why do people seem to not like second son? I've kinda started it but I haven't played very much, doesn't seem as good as two but I don't think it's terrible, just easier and with a shittier story does it get any worse, any better?
>>323128345 But everything that /v/ likes is in the game >can carry all guns at once >seamless blend of stealth and gun fights >crafting on the go >environmental storytelling >characters actually comment on collectibles >unlockables to collect >seamless blend of gameplay and narrative >no load besides the initial one >loli main character Honestly, if all these were in a game that wasn't as main stream, you guys would like it
>>323128345 Sometimes it's better to have a cookie cutter story than some try hard 2deep4u stuff. People have a hard time understanding Star Wars 7 so that's a pretty good indication of the general retardation going on.
>>323128587 It's 7 am here and I've been up all night. Do you think what I now wanted to see was some bumfuck on /v/ passive-aggressively ignoring the meaning of phrases? You know exactly what "Don't get me started means", everyone does. Yet here you sit, you smug little fuckwad: "Go on." No. That's why I used the phrase, I wasn't going to go on, and I will not do it now, and I know that you are trying to make me look like a dolt, but as a matter of fact, the reasons as to why The Last of Us's gameplay is mediocre at best have been stated several times already, and there are many YouTube videos up telling you why that is the case, too. And yet you sit here - you probably know these videos already! - and pretend you out-maneuvered me by merely emplyoing two words. I k n o w what you are trying to do, you rat bastard, you cancer, you scourge and plight of the board; and everyone who isn't blind does as well. Besides, I was merely stating my opinion, not trying to make an argument. In short, fuck you, you annoying little weasel. I hate people like you, and oh do I know you.
>>323129869 Hey, anon. Can we not use the word "cancer" as a derogatory term anymore? Cancer is a real life experience that nobody asks for and it can affect anybody. For some, just seeing the word can be a brutal reminder of that experience. I know we like to banter here on the board, but we're not trying to hurt people, whether knowingly or not. So next time, you can use the phrase "you contribute nothing to the board culture," or "your opinions are having a negative impact on the board," instead of calling someone "cancer." Thank you so much for helping us prevent more triggers in the future, anon. Have a nice day.
