Is this the best 3D platformer this gen?
>Game is not thing
>But it is thing Anon
>If you have to say that, it clearly isn't
no, this is
Tearaway is a cute game, but not a good platformer. Most of the game is just walk x to hear le funny narrator talk. There isn't any true platforming the last ~2 stages. It's a game that tries to be an "experience" first and a "game" second, and that really hurts the experience.
platforming mechanics aren't really all that great
What is great are how you get to draw objects that become part of the world. I wish they had done this more, I loved my penis butterflies and penis snowflakes.
That's because the game sold like 500 copies
I bought it on release day and was trying to look stuff up and there simply were no videos. I had to find old footage of the Vita version.
I don't consider Tearaway a great platformer mechanically. As a whole, it's a fantastic game that thoroughly explores its unique paper theme as a platformer. A lot of it just works very well together.
I love how the tree in the background is animated at a different speed, or at least not interpolated to give it a stop motion effect.
I'd really like to play this, but I just don't want a PS4.
One day it'll be on PS Now or something.
Was kind of starving for 3D platformers, so I picked up The Last Tinker because I heard it was a colourful 3D collectathon platformer, but fuck me I was not prepared for it.
>Boot up the game
>Oh fuck no
>You can't actually jump autonomously, you hold R2 to jump across something when you need to
>Game is cheap looking and linear as fuck
>Screen tearing out the arse
I don't know who thought it was a good idea to not let you jump on your own, but I want to fucking kill them.
Does fucking ANYONE respect the sanctity of 3D platformers anymore?
I mean for fuck sake you see that game for 50 FUCKING DOLLARS retail over here (I only paid 14 for it and I still feel ripped off).
