spooky's house of jumpscares

Also the witcher games, but not because I was "scared" scared, I was scared of getting a bad ending

Alien: Isolation

I figured out after awhile that looking around in the locker when ayy lmao was near it would give me away
It's a beautiful game with tight controls but that gameplay is fucking tedious and stressful

It wasn't until I came back to it when I was like 15 that I finished it, and even then it was still a bit creepy

ZOmbi U is so fucking underrated.

first time the game really let me loose was the school. i noped the fuck out at the little kid in the classroom.
>>
>>323122386
This is going to sound weird, but the story kind of ruined it for me. I think the game would have been so much better if they made it without the characters. The prepper was annoying.
>>
>>323123120

Game sucked mad dick, though. Shitty "puzzles", shitty gameplay, shitty "scares".
>>
>>323123327
don't care games like that get me pretty good. also quit the fuck out of Amnesia dark descent the first ten seconds into the water level.
>>
>>323123142
I can see that working. Literally all you need is to make it focused on finding food, water and supplies and linking up with other survivors.

Make an open world version of London with different safehouses inside it. When you die, sometimes you'll start in one, sometimes you'll be an average joe.
>>
>>323118281
I liked Zombi U. I'm hoping the fact that it's multiplat will open up the possibility of a sequel. I'd miss the gamepad though, it used it in neat ways.
>>
Is zombi even good?
It's like 20 bucks on psn
>>
>>323124008
Zombi U is good

Not sure what they changed in the ports. I can't see it being as good because the gamepad was based.
>>
>>323124008
I'm assuming you don't own a Wii U? I got it for 13 on the Wii U used. Maybe wait for a sale on the ps4.
>>
>>323124263
Actually, I forgot to mention the port removed multiplayer and generally made it a clunkier experience since they couldn't use the gamepad.

It's really not that bad. The game has lots of guns, so you can just shoot at anything you don't like until you feel better.
>>
Alien isolation and dead space 1...none of the sequels though.

Horror games don't scare me, but horror in space however.

I didn't actually quit playing them, I just could only play them during the day

RPGs and grenades are handy when fighting burers

the only way i went through amnesia is because i learned the game mechanics, how the enemy spawns are triggered, area scripts and shit like that, also spoiled a few of the enemy spawns while watching videos. for soma i think its different, also the enemies don't disappear like in amnesia.
>>

P.T.

Its not even the actual jump scares or the atmosphere, its because its different every time you play and I just can't deal with not knowing what's going to happen.
>>
Does anxiety count? Cause if so Dark Souls for me, it's not scary but I get anxious and have to pause games sometimes for a second but since Souls games don't do that I can't so it turned me off from finishing it past the first boss.
>>
>>323127135
I've only gotten to the first time you get grenades.

>Using one character the whole time
>Get ready! A bunch of undead are coming your way!
>Spray em down with the turret gun
>Fuck these RIOT gear zombies won't die
>Run out of bullets
>Go full melee, go to finish one off
>Other one grabs me from behind and I die
>>
>>323127256
I don't think anxiety is the same type of fear OP was going for. With that said, on that note, I feel so stressed out playing Pikmin 1 and Fallout 1 because of the timelimit that I never actually finished either.

Where was this, the nursery? That shit was fucking bullshit. Then again exploding zombies in close quarters are pretty much the only way to die as long as you're not retarded and only bring wood or something(seriously what the fuck is the point of planks, barricading doors is detrimental)

There's maybe 6-8 parts where there's enemies but they patrol so you avoid them.

About three chases occur where you just have to run.

It's really worth it to play, senpai.

Just suck it up.
>>
So wait, does zombiu have a story you gotta complete or is it just straight survival?
>>
>>323118281
Is the PC port of this any good?
>>
>>323128615

It has a story.
>>
>>323128615
There's a story. Every time you die you get a new random name and your weapon stats(basically worthless don't worry about it) reset. You also have to retrieve your items from your zombie
>>
I haven't quite nope'd out yet, but something about this games imagery/atmosphere really puts me on edge. I can't play for more than about an hour at a time.
>>
>>323128693
It's clunkier than the Wii U version because no game pad, and it's got no mulitplayer.

I've never played any version but the Wii U one, its a good, hard game. The best Zombie game imo
>>
>>323128615

It's a Zombie Story, I liked the John Dee stuff, very informative, but the story itself is pretty straight forward.

It doesn't need twists or anything complicated though, the game gets complicated enough to actually care about some deep plot.

;)

White Day is still sitting on my harddrive after like year and a half since I last played it.

I couldn't make it past the part where there's supposedly a ghost chick in the science class or something along those lines.

I use a few in the Safehouse Defense part to set traps but thats about it. The point I think was to trick the unsuspecting into thinking they'd need them.

>>323122386

Pretty well agree with this, never understood the hate it got upon release and I think Nintendo fucked up royal by not pushing it hard at launch, but what haven't they done wrong with Wii U

The thought of a major 3rd party making a AAA exclusive for Wii U in the year 2016 is just unfathomable so I'm glad ZombiU was made

I've cleared the game on normal mode and Survival with one guy

There was a bundle, later, but released in microscopic quantities and now is a collector's item.

I remember at the time, the little TV advertising Nintendo was doing to support their new product was the same families enjoying Wii U syrupy bullshit that would follow in the ensuing years...they should have had ZombiU and what it did with the GamePad to immerse front and center on ESPN and the like.

But NoA are idiots, so
>>
>>323133043
>tfw bought a Wii U at launch

Makes me sad senpai, the gamepad has so much potential.
>>
>>323132982
>sounds like there's infinite survivors around?
Yup. Survivors just pick up where the last guy left off. At the very ending where naturally a new survivor CAN'T just pick up the game ends and you get a bad ending. It's easier than it sounds, especially if you've been hoarding ammo. I played that section like a straight up fps due to the amount of ammunition I had.

>>323132627
I remember a decent amount of marketing for it. More than the Wiiu got at any rate.
>>
>>323132982

It is not story driven at all. You're just a poor schlub trying to survive in apocalyptic London. There is a loose narrative to drive you from location to location but thats about it. The focus is on survival, materials gathering, and item conservation. It is, however, linear in the sense that you can't roam all the areas freely, reaching certain places requires condtions being met

Yes, if you die in Normal you resurrect as another person. So the 'story' as it relates to the person you're playing as is of no importance whatsoever. In Survival, death means game over so if you play it like that the other possible PCs are inconsequential

You only encounter a few living people

If you have a Wii U you owe it to the system to play it, its like fucking $14.99 at most retailers now

> I played that section like a straight up fps due to the amount of ammunition I had

When people would ask for help on Miiverse I always suggested hoarding assault rifle ammo for the ending sequence. Not because its necessary, but because its awesome and liberating to just mow em down after hours of careful management and dueling with the cricket bat
>>

I hate to say it, but Alien: Isolation. I don't know how the you're supposed to proceed when that fucking xenomorph is patrolling the floor you're on. My experience with the game is essentially just:

>alright, gotta get to here to get X so I can do Y
>oh boy I hear something in the vents - better hide
>holy shit this fucker's gravitating around me worse than my family when I'm masturbating
>5 minutes later
>oh thank fuck. he's in the vents now. getting the fuck out of here
>nope, nevermind, he's just at the other end of the corridor- better hide again

Every attempt at progressing results in me either hiding for a ridiculous amount of time, or getting fucked up by that goddamn xenocuck.
