>Playing through Supreme Commander's campaign.
>Realize that the plan to use the gates as a weapon/send the virus/disable FTL travel is basically Mass Effect 3.
Years later, I still manage to find more proof of EA and modern Bioware's creative bankruptcy.
>those Tier 3 Subs
Absolutely ridiculous unit.
>Hype for SupCom2 in the lead up to release
>See initial reviews saying it feels like a console game
>Announcement that it's coming to Xbox
>Pirate it and play it
>Feels like a Fisher-Price RTS aimed at arena-style e-sports types
I didn't even buy it and I still felt bad for pirating it. It's just nowhere near as good as SupCom/FA.
You can thank Squenix for the design choices. They wanted PLOT and STORY ELEMENTS in the game. It also had to be multiplat so they could sell more copies, because everyone knows consoles are where RTS shines.
>try to play the co-op campaign on FAF
>desyncs like a motherfucker all the time
Does anyone have experience with this? It's god damn annoying.
>Oh shit I can upgrade my ACU to take on T4? It got anti-air now?
>I can upgrade my tanks and UEF got mecha too! This should be fun
>wtf only 5-6 units in each factory?
>wtf Fatboy 2? Where's Mavor?
Well at least in lore they make ACU can tank a nuke
>the explosion can be heard across the map
Brackman literally wrote a program that made cyborgs thought UEF is evil, meanwhile inside UEF there were people volunteered to be cyborgs but Brackman thought they were brainwashed thus he used his program to 'free' them.
There is no good faction anon, the only good thing is post-scarcity society and biomod.
>Play Seton's Clutch on Spring, have a grand 'ol time
>Play tons of SupCom1 on release, like it but don't go autistic on it, eventually stopped playing
>Get SupCom 2 and play more than I ever played SupCom1
And I even played the demo, which wasn't great. But man. Those graphics, that unit upgrading, that pathfinding, some of those lower experimentals. It was hella fun and my attention span could tolerate it unlike some SupCom1 5-hour marathon sessions.
Maybe it's not the sequel hardcores wanted, but goddamn did I like it.
I'm not /rts/ but is this still the peak of the genre?
I wish I could be a rts mastermind strategist.
It totally is, in my honest and humble opinion.
I've done everything I could to extract fun from this game and I just can't
If all 3 factions are evil then the Seraphim are the good guys.
Or if you're playing on a naval map pick Seraphim and spam pic related.
Dont forget to type GG after you win
Moments like those I just play defensive as possible, there is always a chance you'll get ganged up from 2 sides and they aren't even working together. Once they do enough damage to eachoher I'll be more offensive then
>acknowledge and agree with this mindset completely
>still unable to stop myself moving for map control and resources
Just turtle through. Let THEM fight for the resources. They will waste time on fighting over them, on map control and what not. Meanwhile you are free to set up the perimeter and instead of getting new sources, increasing efficiency of already controlled ones.
Always work for me.
Is she single?
I mean that's how most smaller FFAs go
Everyone WANTS to be defensive because of possibility of gang rape. But they also don't want to be left behind in economy or map control so they expand.
And when they hit another player they recognize that they were acting aggressive and even though they want to be defensive they feel committed to offense by that stage.
Simultaneously all players reach this stage.
Then it usually is absolute chaos until one of the three players gets unlucky and gets spit-roasted. And it usually is down to luck as everyone's just looking to expand but paying too much attention to multiple fronts to scout other battles and act strategically.
>His old folks don't play vidya
Not the anon, but still shame and partially your fault. When I was a teen, I taught my father how to play Alpha Centauri just so our pack had 7 people for matches and completely eliminate AI from the game.
>build exquisite alien craft
>and then fucking RAM it into your opponent
>we'll never get a game like supcom ever again
>tfw I'm that cunt that attacks you while you're busy attacking other opponent
Who /was always assigned comfy defense/ during LAN multiplayer games here
>Hear everyone praise SupCom as well as FA.
>Buy both on Steam sales a long ago.
>My laptop was so shit I couldn´t run any of them.
>Install original SupComm on new laptop.
>Absolutely love the UEF, the Cybran and the pace of the game.
>Play the shit out of it.
>Swith to FA.
>Units build fast as fuck.
>I cannot micromanage all fast enough.
In b4 git gud but I prefer SupCom over FA
> on defense duty with a bro
> we literally just take turns expanding massive fuckloads of artillery and shields
> our faces when we're impenetrable
>Scout Xeno traitor main base mid-game playing with UEF.
>He is about to finish build the giant flying donut.
>Proceed to make endless waves of shitty T1 interceptors.
>See the donut coming.
>He has slightly less shitty interceptors to support.
>It felt like Independence day.
Man I miss playing SupComm with buddies.
>Connection established via the FAF Proxy
>game now runs at half-speed
How the fuck does RTS netcode even work?
>tfw no divine fantasy version of supcom
>the giant avatar of not-vishnu will never suplex not-satan so hard into the ground that a new mountain range is created for the rest of the match
>create various enormous magical symbols by building markers in different patterns on the map
>the bigger the symbol the more powerful spell is casted
