Do you think esports will ever be even 1/10th the size of real sports? if so, why? if not, why not?

Absolutely. It's already 10 times the size as 10 years ago. Dota and lol fill sports arenas and dota had like a 20 million dollar prize pool. It likely won't ever be as big as real sports but it certainly has room to grow.

>All that Dota 2

Is that the power of hats?
>>
>>323113865
the majority of it comes from hats but even the non compendium tournaments have comparitevly enormous prize pools
>>
>>323110994

Why isn't there any LoL on the list? I thought more people played/watched it. I don't really know much about esports.
>>

The money in LoL comes from sponsorship, saleries, promotions, etc. Their tournaments are fucking garbage when it comes to prize pools because Riot/Tencent just jews all the money for themselves.
>>
>>323114661
lel uses a communist system to pay their players. riot literally pays their "pros" autism bux to be NEET. this results in the pros literally not caring about certain tournament matches and just fucking around.

LeL really is a parody of a parody of a competitive video game

>It likely won't ever be as big as real sports
'ever' is a strong word
>>
>>323114661
the entire competitive scene is operated by Riot. they refuse to do the same crowd funding that valve does for unknown reasons and as a result the smaller games overtake them

Shit like this kinda makes me appreciate Nintendo having almost zero influence on competitive smash (currently)

Counter Strike personalities just had some banter with Shaq and his NBA colleuges on TV.

This shit is going mainstream.
