I don't advocate censorship, so I won't cry about her chest size for that. Getting that out of the way, I hate it when they fetishize characters or make them revolve around fanservice, like Bayonetta who's a one dimensional whore who shows her ass everywhere. I don't want that. And you can call me gay, but guess what? I'm gay for gameplay, and I can't enjoy a game if I'm constantly skipping blatant ass shot-centered cutscenes. Same with games like Dragon's Crown or Hyperdimension Neptunia or Xenoblade Chronicles X or Tomb Raider or any game where they're pushing the exact same "strong sexy womyn who don't need no man" message. It gets boring.

Truth be told, I'd rather play Knack than touch Bayonetta or Dragon's Crown or any of these other fanservice dumpheaps. I'm so sick of this industry pushing it in every game. It's as bad as modern shooters and their obsession with being mature and violent, so kids will want to play it to seem grown-up to their peers at elementary school. It's also as bad as games trying to be movies, so people can claim that they're "art". It all doesn't resonate well with me.

I'm not intimidated. i'm just sick of seeing the exact same cliches play over and over. If they weren't so prominent in the games, I ould just skip it, but we all know that's not the case. Every other moment they gotta tell us how strong they are, how independent they are, how flawlessly cool and epic they are. I don't know about you, but I'd rather play the game than listen to it preach to me about how it loves its characters.

Unless you're playing on the absolute highest difficulties and the end games, they're basically nothing more than button mashers with little to no skill. Not to mention their control schemes are pretty poor. It's not worth the hassle if you ask me.

Depends on how old you want to go. 1, 3, Super, Bloodlines, Rondo, and Rebirth are great old school platformers. Symphony and the GBA and DS games are excellent Metroid-like games. Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness, and Lords of Shadow 1 are decent 3D games. Don't bother with the others.
