A lot of these are just nitpicky and would really only work in very specific situations.

The fact that Luigi isn't normally playable and that there's no real dessert them is a crime though. And they could easily make it so where giving a fire flower to a hammer bro would make it a fire bro.

At one point, there are four bullet bill cannons in a row and sometimes, only sometimes, it will disappear along with some spike tops(two are missing in this particular picture). Bullet Bill spawns in this game are really finicky. I made a course where I put them on tracks and I made a remake replacing most of them with cannons just to ensure that the spawns work.

One little exploit you can do with Bill Blasters is that you can kick a shell farther than a bill blaster spawn. so if you do it correctly you can get a shell to get into a seemingly impossible space that is blocked by a bill blaster.

I'll give your level a look later and see if I can find the reason for the despawn.

All right guys, I got a $50 EB gift card for Xmas and I've been on the fence about what to get. I've been a big fan of 2D Mario since 2 (except the NSMB series- there's just something about them that turns me off) and I've been looking at Mario Maker for a while now (my other choices include PS4 GTAV, which I'm kind of holding out for a pricedrop on, and Senran Kagura 3DS) but I'm just worried it's not going to hold my attention long enough as I'm not a huge fan of level-editors.

Got you, mi familia. I bookmarked two of your levels. And I like your section as the intro, I think the simplicity works well for the intro in that if you die, you don't have to do some difficult jump or deal with an annoying enemy combination or anything. Simple isn't bad.

Had an attempt at making a level. It's not too difficult, requires a little patience, but otherwise just outright platforming that requires timing and reflexes. Feel free to give me feedback, would be much appreciated.

The level is basically pic related, but on moving tracks. As the level goes on, more obstacles and tighter jumps and added. No one has beat it yet, so feel free to give it a go.

I'm having the exact same problem.
It's a vertical level, so you go down the level, through a door then to the next area cause levels are short as hell. The next are goes next to the first one, but it'd be ugly as hell if you could see it while playing the first area, so you need a big ass wall of blocks, which eat into your count.

Making your levels look nice can be a big ol' pain in the ass. I could go and remove a bunch of decorative elements, but why even finish the level at that point.

I wish they had a big block that functioned like a semi-solid platform that just looked like a big wall of the standard ground, or something.

My creative spark seems to have all but died. I can come up with some great ideas, but I always fall short of making a complete and interesting level. Hopefully when I complete my Ghost House it'll be the exception. I'm working hard on it. In the meantime I've got levels like this. Would be great if the secret area wasn't so lame. Not much of a reward if it isn't fun.

I guess you can try to find it anyway, though.
Hopefully someone who finds a mild challenge rewarding will like it.

Reuploaded 3 of my 4 courses to include checkpoints. I haven't had a ton of people replay the levels who had played it before the checkpoints, but just my own testing makes me wonder how Nintendo even released the game without them.

It's just too bad Nintendo won't allow us to insert checkpoints into existing levels. Not like they couldn't force us to test them. I just don't want to lose my visual stars. It gives me encouragement to keep trying because I know I can make interesting levels.

I get around this by placing a single column of solid wall with a full height semi-solid platform tucked behind it. That way I can save my blocks for other parts.

Alternately, if you have spare enemies, hollow out the area behind the wall and put some on-rail enemies/items as decoration.
