Those are the main parts of Sonic Adventure. Nobody clamoring for Sonic Adventure 3 wants its wonky ass physics to come back or the slippery controls. They want multiple playable characters, an elaborate story, and a hub.

And two of the three Unleashed doesn't achieve mind you. The story is nowhere near "elaborate" and you only play as two versions of Sonic as opposed to literally playing as different character like Tails or Knuckles and having wildly differing gameplay elements.

The hub world also only applies to the 360 and PS3 games too.

The story is about as elaborate as Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic and the Werehog are multiple playable styles, with the only caveat being that the Werehog is Sonic instead of Knuckles. And of course we're talking about the 360/PS3 Unleashed, that's the real version of the game. PS2/Wii version was DIMPs instead of Sonic Team.

Elaborate story, I guess SU doesn't have that so you're right on that point. But you still go globetrotting which is kinda the same as in SA2.

And the PS360 are the only relevant versions of the damn game. I don't give a fuck what critics say, the PS2/Wii version is a god damn travesty who's only real "wroth" is a (barely) better Eggmanland Day and better Night stage locations.

Not really, it cut out the copied tat however like Tails stages which were just "race Sonic to the end" and Amy's which were "run from the robot" both being set in portions of Sonic stages Gamma stages were changed to Eggman and Tails stages in 2. The only thing that was truly removed mechanically were the big stages and no one liked those anyway.

That was a purpose return to roots with basic levels and acts again. It went out of it's way to make sure it didn't get mistaken as a Sonic Adventure game.

Shadow the Hedgehog was more of a continuation of SA2 in terms of theme and tone.

Sonic '06 purposefully tried to be another SA1 and failed.
