Honestly, this is pretty much it. I love Dark Souls, but I don't want From near Zelda. It's not going to be a Zelda game, it's a From game with a Zelda skin.
Everything about Zelda is perfect besides the fact that your fuck-ups are trivial. The combat is fine as is, but it would be perfect if you couldn't sleep through it since in most games Link takes the final boss's Giga Atomic Sphincter Exploder Magic Spirit Bomb attack to his face for a quarter of a heart of damage.
Link moves perfectly in 3D, I honestly don't think there's any video game character that moves as perfectly as Link does besides Mario in 3D platformers. He hits and takes hits with weighty impact, unlike so many games where you basically just slap numbers out of shivering mannequins or the alternative where you're locked into an overdrawn animation like AssCreed or Batman Arkham games. I don't need Zelda games to become Skyrim, I don't need them to be Dark Souls, I don't need them to be whatever every asshole on Youtube with a microphone and movie editing software says they should be like, I just want there to be a few more consequences if I fuck up on the timing, and maybe for enemies to be a little more aggressive.

And yeah, bosses that do a half of heart of damage in games where you're showered in heart pieces would be fun too. If there isn't an interesting mechanic or novelty behind a Zelda game, like MM or WW, there's simply no reason for me to play them.

Well now that Iwata's gone, we might see a shift from Neo-Nintendo attempting real risks like they did in the pre-Wii days.
He was sort of the one who brought about of this childish casualization shit in the first place.

This is why I feel out of Zelda. That and the over worlds have been too gated, even compared to past Zelda games. The exploration in general have become less interesting. I still look at Z64, at least for the 3D games as the standard, not really reached since then.

How about this for a souls-styled Zelda plot:
>Link has a mysterious, demonic cursed placed against him at the beginning of the game, goes on a journey to find a cure for the said curse before it corrupts him into some demonic entity completely
>suddenly gets Triforce of Courage mark on his hand out of nowhere, cue coming across the princess and her pleas to save the kingdom from pig-Ganon
>Link goes through Hyrule discovering that time in certain locations has become wishy-washy ala Lordran; areas from certain places in the timeline reappearing and causing havoc in weird ways >lead to believe that this and his curse is the work of Ganon
>surprise-surprise! turns out it wasn't Ganon after all and you're only halfway through the game, the time-messed corruption throughout the land is only getting worse
>cue Bloodborne for the second half of the game plot twist where you revisit new sections of these said areas and they're even more fucked up
>discover the source of corruption is actually coming from corrupted Links, who've come from alternate "bad-end" timelines
>they are suffering from the same curse that your protag Link is suffering from, and have turned into hidious, violent eldritch abominations because of it
>cue you having to kill off these corrupted Links in fucked up ways, you get some neat gear from them because of it (ex: corrupt TP Link drops the chain ball zora garb, fused shadow helm etc, corrupt OoT-MM Link drops Fierce Deity transformation item and various masks, etc)
>realize the source of this corruption is coming from the Triforce which has been altered in some way or another
>ends with you creating 2 alternate timelines based on moral choice - one where you cured the corruption but at a horrible long-term cost - like wishing for the Triforce's destruction ala ALBW; or one where you willingly become corrupted and drive said timeline into another downfall timeline
Also art style would pull inspiration from Takaeda's official art, pic-related
