I still miss N64-Fox, and I think Sm4sh Falco is closer to that than Sm4sh Fox. (Never played Melee.)

regardless, they're still a joy to edgeguard with. You'd be surprised by how often people underestimate how quickly you can reach them for the strong bair hitbox, and hitting a meteor with his dair is like pure sex. It's not as janky as his old bair for sure, but I still enjoy using it.

I think Falco's d-air was too easy to land in Brawl since it basically meteor'd on the first (?) frame. It is now more satisfying to land.

I do miss the b-air though, but I think the same applies here, it is harder to use but more satisfying.

Wolf's bair was amazing, it had deceptive range, quick startup, minimal ending lag and good power

Of course Falco's bair was nerfed from brawl where it was a fantastic move, but its still a good move in smash 4. Definitely not as good as wolf's bair though.
