What does /v/ think about this game?
I just played it myself and fucking loved it. Sasha is love, Sasha is life.
Would have been better if they had managed to keep Burch's filthy claws off of it.
It is almost comical how you can notice a sharp drop in writing quality whenever a scene that he wrote is playing.
Writer for Borderlands 2 and parts of TftBL. Notable for trying to shoehorn arbitrary "diversity" in his writing, all the while creating enormous plotholes, and than retconning anything that doesn't agree with his poorly wrought fanfiction.net tier writing. Possesses one of the most pathetic love lives of any living human (which he entirely brought upon himself.) And that is saying a lot considering we are on /v/.
I know that obviously Telltale had a lot less to deal with in the gameplay department than the main games, but I love the way they just took things that Gearbox do horribly and knock them out of the park.
They basically did their own Claptrap and made it actually enjoyable instead of one of the worst characters of all time.
They showed the inside of a vault, even if it was brief and mysterious.
Oh and humour. They did that humour thing that Gearbox can't seem to manage.
Was up way too late bingeing these. Loved the musical intros, which I guess is already a borderlands thing but I think they took up a notch by making them (occasionally) interactive.
Really thought I wouldn't dig the last episode because it seemed like everything got resolved too quickly with Helios but then the final sequence was so perfectly funny and over the top that I fell in love all over again (though not with Sasha, I kept her as just a bro).
Particularly with Rhys I took the strategy of if there was an obviously bad (as in stupid) choice, I took it and the game was still awesome. I appreciated that.
Those feels when Step 3.
Although in my game
Vaughan was paralysedwhich I enjoyed a lot more than this one. It's the little touches that really make it.
>but he's a good writer.
When you trust Fiona at the end of Episode 2 Vaughan gets a dart in the neck from one of those security robots. Locks him in a pretty hilarious pose and he gets strapped to Loader's back once you leave the caravan. Eventually the crazy doctor guy fixes him maybe halfway through the episode.
>They killed Scooter
>Janey is gonna be his permanent replacement in BL3
Fuck that idiot and fuck her relationship with Athena dragging her whole character down.
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM TELLTALE GAME?
CAN BE FROM ANYTHING (books, movies, comics, TV shows etc.).
Westwood did a really great Bladerunner adventure game back in the day. A telltale one in the same vein would be pretty amazing.
How about Witcher? Though CDPR already do great choice based gameplay.
How about an XCom tie in with the new game. Play a citizen falling in with the resistance needing to choose between loyalty and safety.
Wheel of Time
Tales from the Crypt
Cause back in episode 3 i think it was when you are given the option to give the flower to sasha i just kept it, and if you say stay away from my sister at the end of episode 5 as they are heading in the vault, i cant remember what they say but rhys gets an option to say theres someone else i like which is implying he likes fiona.
I think they included an option for Rhys to say he likes someone else (fiona) because the shiptards on the TTG Forums threw a massive suicide watch tier hissyfit when they realized Rhys x Sasha was the canon pairing
Speaking of which, do you think Telltale will ever actually commit to a romance?
I mean like Carley gets her brains blown out
Snow gradually drifts away from Bigby, though I suppose that doesn't really count since its limited by their relationship in the comics
Flirting and sweet little moments in TFTBL but the "game" ends without ever really wrapping it up
I feel we should give them props for creating characters we care about without taking the shortcut of forcing a romantic relationship like a lot of other media does.
I guess the flip side of that is that they are so good at making us care about characters if they go full romance I think we'd expect an awful lot of pay off which might be hard to do and still keep a convincing story if you don't choose that path.
>thread is dying, better start a flamewar
I think that if Janey stopped informing the player of how much of a lesbian she is every couple of minutes she would actually be a good character and a good replacement for Scooter.
Scooter killed himself, his VA/Gearbox writer had a stroke some years ago, the damage that did has been getting worse and he wanted to take himself out of the cannon. This is also why Scooters voice changed so much from 1 to 2. shits sad senpai.
Early Telltale might have done this, but I seriously doubt they'll ever go back to their obscure graphic novel roots now that they're drowning in AAA licenses and Wolf Among Us sold like shit.
Too bad too because the putative reason that Transmet never became a movie was excessive production costs and those would be very much mitigated with Telltale asset recycling.
>Meme Gear faggots think they're in a position to comment on taste
How's that cut content simulator treating you? Still waiting for Kojima's BRILLIANT RUSE to save it from being the most disappointing game of 2015
>Meme Gear fags love CoD
Jesus Christ it writes itself
Does anything you can spend Fiona's money on affect the game? Or is it just cosmetic
Was a bit disappointed when I saved it all the entire game and then bam, handed the 9 mill to afford R3T4RD easy
I'll admit though, they got me good and I laughed. Did not expect him.
>Sasha best waifu
I'm not sure if they have confirmed anything.
