This is a Haruka, and this is a YAKUZA thread.
>finally finish Yakuza 4
>buy and download yakuza 5
>install keeps corrupting
>PS3 hard drive died even though I got it less than a year ago
>"Oh well, I'll just buy the physical copy"
>tfw there is no physical copy
What the fuck do I do now?
Haruka gets involved romantically with Not Kiryu in Yakuza 6.
There are 5 mainline games with a 6th prequel coming out so you're okay.
Just read that.
>Yakuza 6 will probably take place in 2016
>Haruka would be 19-20 years old
They grow up so fast.
>ever thinking about fapping to Haruka
>Oji-san, that guy made obscene remarks about me
They actually modeled her after and adult woman with tits ?
Isn't she 14 or something ?
i am huge yakuza fan and i have played all of them except psp titles. I do consider them to be great underrated series but Y5 is really the worst title in the franchise.
Gameplay is pushed in wrong directions with 1 vs 29 guys like its a musou game. Fights drag unnececery and pace is broken completely.
Saejimas and Akiyamas chapter are forced in and Harukas part is too slow and boring with too little variety.
Story is retarded beyond redemption its not even possible to defend it and ending is just atrocity.
Main twist lacks suspense but last boss fight was great.
THankfuly they got back on the track after this game with solid Ishin and great Zero.
>in yakuza 3 when
rikiya dies and kazuma loses it after staying calm and collected in the whole series up until that point
It was a sad moment, but it felt kinda forced. I like Rikiya, but Kazuma only knew him for a year or so, and for the longest time he was being a total faggot over the orphanage.
He also witnessed more tragic deaths than that, and of people that were closer to him.
So many time wasting on purpose bulshit.
Tatsuya eating meal bulshit 5 times was unbelievably retarded also.
Shinada has best arc and he should have been only playable character beside Kiryu.
Also you noticed that every main character got shot end everyone survive? Except off screen deaths of one girl. Like i said retarded beyond redemption.
Scene where yakuzas are watching harukas speech has me laughing because its so brain dead.
I could spend entire days ranting of all shit that are retarded.
It really got me because that's the first time Kazuma shows emotion like that in the whole series. He doesn't even cry when
fuma dies in yakuza 1. It might've been a bit forced but fuck if my eyes didn't start watering
He shows emotions all the time. Its was just crying that was forced.
ITs like developers dont think that their fans played previous games so they recycle twists and scenes.same shit in y5
>Majima, we Yakuza are like trash, and trash is like tripe, it has to be burned to a crisp, like hot garbage, but you can't let tripe burn too long because then it will be actual trash, not tripe trash, just trash, I'm going to prison again to be tripe
What the fuck Saejima
I didn't know what to feel during that scene. I didn't know whether I should have been compelled, humored, or hungry, especially after Majima basically said "Dude you just got me worked up how could you eat the last piece?!"
I dont understand why they write them self into the corner. And they did this sort of thing every major cutscene. It was completely unnecessary for him to go to prison. It adds nothing. IT wastes time. It makes plot derailed and it breaks the pace of the game completely.
shame, a pc re-release is pretty much the only chance we will ever have of getting the full version of yakuza 3. Then again they'd probably half-ass it and release the english ps3 version with no changes.
I still don't understand why he had to go to jail to be a liutenant. They both recognize Tojo is weak as fuck. And he still does it? And for assault? It's a brawler, people are beating each other to to brink of death casually. I tried to convince myself he was doing it because for him, prison felt more like his home than Tojo, because it would give him some depth, but it's prerty clear it's not the case at all.
The writers just decided to put him on prison again, and then have him break out again, just because it's his "thing" now, that's what Saejima is, just like Akyama is the Sky Finance guy, even though he lost a lot of money in 4.
The prison thing doesn't even change anything gameplay wise, it just puts some cops in some corners, you can walk around then.
They probably felt they didn't do him justice in 4, which is why a lot of his stuff is similar.
I just rationalized it as his mind still lingering on the Ueno hit and he needed to do some more time to clear his mind
ah yes i am going to die from cancer so i am going to put in motion this incredibly retarded and convoluted plan to get 3 yakuzas and one ex retired yakuza who now drives taxi, on top of the building so i could kill them, in order to make my estranged son my succesor.
But wait i cant shoot for shit and i have only one gun with 6 bullets and i forgot second ammo clip. I must be lucky that my adversaries are retarded brain dead people who wont even try to hide or run from the roof while i shoot at them.
Also I forgot that daigo shoots like clint eastwood. Stupid me.
I hope Yakuza 6 doesn't force you to play more than 2 or 3 characters.
They should make it so you can choose who to play at certain parts. Would boost replay value.
at least kenzans plot manages to be entertaining and engaging aside from few scenes at the end. It had so much more to it in terms of mistery and emotional scenes etc
he literally just said that. l2l
>Japan trying to make me attracted to underage girl by using underhanded trickery
They can't keep getting away with it
Your tricks don't work on me
>implying Haruka isn't finished as a character
She's off to be an idol now. She can't be mixed up with Kiryu anymore. We'll see her again in loli-form in Kiwami and that's that.
Read further in for the upcoming games. Anyway Kiwami(the remake) is literally 2 weeks away from release and it comes with a demo for 6 too
1 and 2 HD came out for PS3 years ago but that never got released in English.
Isn't she refused to be an idol in the end of Y5? I doubt she can continue after fucking up concert and admitting she's yakuza daughter.
>how do I make mad dosh
Akiyama has access to 2 Zero Jewels. 1 from the Kushikatsu Daruma sidequest and 1 from the Sotenbori lockers(forgot which one).
After you get those things empty your inventory and go to Ryugujo/Purgatory and buy chips. Go play roulette, use the Zero Jewel and place the maximum bet(1000 chips) in between 0 and 00. When you're done, exchange your points for Gold and Platinum Plates you can sell at the pawnshop
>car battery dead from the cold, won't start
>don't get a charger until tomorrow
>stuck home playing Yakuza all day
Could be worse
That's misleading because Japan has laws according to each prefecture or city or whatever that sets the AoC. You're more likely to fuck a girl below the age of 15 in Britain than in Japan.
In Premium mode, take Haruka with Oji-san to Fukuoka. Walk around and hopefully one of her whims is to see Ose Bridge.
There will be a small conversation where Haruka asks Kaz how they look like together standing there watching the scenery. Two answers are "As a couple in love" or "Like a father and daughter". The reponses are kinda interesting...
Nicely for me after that scene her mood hit level C causing her to start holding Kazzys hand now. We then proceeded to the photobooth then back to Kiryu's apartment to
save the game
C U T E
>That part where Kiryu beats him in a headbutt fight and knees him out into the snow
I respectfully disagree.
I liked massive fights, since they were kinda new and they didn't drag even on harder difficulties.
Plot was okay up until certain point.
Pace is always broken.
Just a reminder that the series could possibly end in the next 5-10 years. Sales have been stagnating really bad in Japan. 0 did like 250k in Japan for both versions combined. For reference, 4 and 5 did like 600k there.
I don't think anything could top Bracku Monday and Twin Brother detective, but I was still entertained by those
I liked all of Saejima's cellmates. I really want Baba, Himura, and Pops to come back in 6 but the devs throw out the supporting cast every game
>Step forward if you want to die!
Since it's one of Kiryu's iconic lines, did Kenzan have this? It'd fit Musashi's Yoshioka 100-man slaying event to a tee. Did Kenzan even have that event?
I finished Kiryu's story in 5 but I probably won't finish the rest. So what happens with Haruka? I heard she goes back to living with Kazuma or something.
I'm a fan of taboo father/daughter incest stories.
I still don't understand what's the deal with real life yakuza. Why doesn't the police go after them if they're so easy to identify (tattoos, dress code, pins, etc)? How can they run racketing and all that shit in broad daylight? Also, something I don't get about these games, how they try to make individuals like Kazuma who are basically 100% moralfag good guys also want to care for a criminal organization this much. If they were anti-heroes like in games such as GTA or MAfia it would make more sense, but having Kazuma care so fucking much about the Tojo clan is retarded.
Either that or the whole Yakuza thing with all the associated Japanese cultural bullshit is 26deep543me.
That being said I enjoy the games for the gameplay a lot, even though they're rehashed to hell. Can't wait for Zero, maybe it will shed some light on this Yakuza mystery.
Bowling. Once you get the trick to get 100% strike, and you get a full game with nothing but strikes, they give you a statue that IIRC can be sold for 2mil yen. I got like 3 of those in Yakuza 4 and then was set for the entire game. I haven't played bowling a lot in Y5 but I'm pretty sure the same trick to get 100% strike works in this one as well, and so does the trick to get bullseyes in darts (too bad the highest AI cheats and gets 3 triple20s nearly every turn).
I've read on Wikipedia that they still deal with racketing, smuggling, and on top of that, they deal with drug and weapon dealing, prostitution rings and human trafficking. In Y5 there's a sidestory with Kiryu (IIRC) where you help a slut victim of human trafficking by Yakuza, which is ironic since the same kind of thing most likely goes on in the Tojo Clan.
Organized crime is organized, anon. They're involved in business, politics and even police. And even if you're an upstanding cop and you have the resources to go after them, you may cause more harm that good.
It's not just Japan, I'd guess the same thing happens in all countries.
>Also, something I don't get about these games, how they try to make individuals like Kazuma who are basically 100% moralfag good guys also want to care for a criminal organization this much.
This is probably East/West values dissonance. In East Asian countries, honoring those who came before you is very serious, in both business and family. Kiryu preaches to rowdy upstarts about honoring their elders and superiors all the time. Not only did the Tojo help mold Kiryu into who he is today, by not helping the Tojo, Kiryu would be doing a disservice to people like Kazama, Sera, etc. by not helping.

Do I have to shill out mad bucks to get all the games for PS? Can you get them all on PSN with English subs? I read the pastebin an anon posted ITT but I still don't really know.
And what's the deal with Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! ?
The only games you can get in English on PSN are 4, Dead Souls, and 5. You're gonna have to find a physical copy of 3, and buy/pirate 1 and 2 if you want them in English.
Kenzan was the first step of Yakuza games on PS3 and will probably never come out in English.
>that replacement music during Shinada v Daigo
Ugh.. why couldn't they keep Kyosuke's music?
I'm near the end, but please tell me Diamond Dust is still used in the ending..
>The rift was fomented by criticism that Tsukasa, who became the Yamaguchi-gumi’s sixth leader a decade ago, was giving preferable treatment to members of the Kodo-kai, a Nagoya-based affiliate he founded in 1984
>instead of just giving money to his friend Kiryu to help with his orphanage he gave loan to Park so she could give it to orphanage and blackmail Haruka into idol shit
Finally got 15 million yen, and finished everything but half the food, half the mini games, and half of the arena and I'm burned out, this game has far too much grinding dealing with the 100% this time around. Maybe I will do it later, but right now I want to move on to other games, and I want to feel fresh for Ishin when that arrives soon.
>It's like the Arena from 5 but even grindier.
Well shit, at least the 4 styles are good right and pack a punch? My problem with 5 was because enemies had a shit ton of health bars and they made you have to use guys like Akiyama and Shinada who were either weak or without weapons so they had a disadvantage compared to the other characters.
>Step forward if you want to die!
>never actually kill anyone
Except for that part where you're climbing the Kamurocho Hills and one of your heat actions allows you to throw people out of the windows
You could hear all the otakus getting their hearts broken during Haruka Speech.
It even tells you they don't share keys or the content inside the lockers
after you already pick one up. Its so fucking stupid, its like they went out of their way to make getting 100% in this beast a bigger pain in the ass then it already was.
Her concert videos are enough for me.
I found haruka's part to be extremely underwhelming. The rhythm game during the singing parts is so easy and boring, they could have ripped off the Project Diva system and it would have been way better and more fun (and why couldn't they? There are even hatsune miku figures into this game since it's all Sega stuff). The dancing minigame is just trash though, not only the music is just embarassing but the dance animations are dogshit and don't even match the rhythm at all if you pay attention. There are what, a grand total of 4 songs? They couldn't mocap 4 dance animations for the dance battle minigame?
Fuck, I was so hype for playing as Haruka but the whole thing got old after about 20 minutes.
>all asians have epicanthic folds
Dumb motherfuckers who have never left their house.
I agree in a sense that Kazuma lost people a lot closer to him, however I rationalize it through the idea that Kazuma had kept all his feelings locked away for such a long time that it only took one more death for him to lose it.
Would you Yakuza fans play a game that's straight up just Hosts club?
Like dating, and working to make money to go on dates and host clubs?
Also does anyone have a silhouette of Kiryu's Dragon tattoo like that PS3 model?
If it's like the current system, no. I'd buy it if it got super over the top gameplay and heat actions.
We could've avoided the entire plot of 4 since Saejima wouldn't have been able to convince Kido to go balls out with Akiyama's money
It'd piss me off more than CIA twin brother that's for sure.
>looks just like Kiryu
>sounds just like Kiryu
>is a fighting god just like Kiryu
Being some random bastard son would also be worse than CIA twin brother
Anyway Yakuza 6 just looks like Yakuza 3 Kiryu with properly rendered hair. Also he stole Shinada pants and Tanimura's jacket too I guess (and before someone says it, he had a completely different default outfit/color scheme in 5 too so him wearing different clothes here doesn't mean much either)
Don't start at 5, it doesn't even have the feature to watch a summary of earlier games for some reason. The earlier you start the better but you can start at 4 and get by, just watch the reminisce mode stuff first in the main menu.
No she won't. Have you seen Kiryu in 6?
I'm currently playing through Ishin and I had two posts in yesterday's thread about the grindy nature of the game, but I'll repost them since they are relevant to what you are asking.
It seems like they've been making the games grindier as they go on.
In Ishin you have four different fighting styles and they all get capped out at 25. To keep the styles leveling to 50 you have to learn every ability in that style, do every revelation in that style and train with all the masters. Only then can you keep leveling them to 50.
You also don't get exp for doing substories and leveling classes seems to be based on the numbers of times you hit an opponent with that style. So you end up doing the 100 man battle arena fights over and over if you want to level them all.
I hear 0 is just as grindy but in a different way.
I'm hoping 6 cuts back on the grind and just goes back to maxing you out at 20 from doing substories and some minor side content.
That's not even all of it. In Ishin you also have to keep your weapons and armor upgraded because the opponents in the side modes are really fucking strong. We're talking getting taken out in a single combo strong if your equipment isn't good enough.
So you end up running the battle dungeon which is a mode were you go down multiple floors down these really samey enemy infested dungeons. The further you go down, the stronger the opponents get, but the better the rare materials get. Eventually your standard grunt starts getting as many health bars as a boss.
There is also an rng element to the drops as running the same dungeon wont guarantee a good drop and some weapons require multiple amounts of that certain material.
Needless to say, it's all really grindy and isn't always fun. I mean I still really like Ishin, but I'm hoping the series doesn't start going in this direction.
>you have to learn every ability in that style, do every revelation in that style and train with all the masters.
capping at 25 sounds harsh but those latter 2 requirements seem like something most people would tryto do anyway
that being said how do you go about learning every ability in each style?
Yes playing the older games would be helpful.
1 and 2 were released for PS2 you can emulate them if you want to. 1's pretty rough around the edges. 2 however is a step up in most ways and is one of the better games in the series. 3 is decent overall. 4 started the whole many playable characters thing all whom have some style of their own. 5 is the most recent one(Well overseas of course) and still has the different playable characters trend.
If you just wanna jump the series right away play 4 as it has cliff notes retellings of the first three games. There are some spin off games though only one came over here(Dead Souls) and you don't really have to play it.
Well like I said, you don't gain exp from substories anymore. What determines your styles leveling up seems to be how many times you hit an opponent with that style, so it basically levels up the more you use it.
This is terrible of course, since just playing through the story wont provide enough opponents to max out even one style. So you end up having to replay the 100 man arena fight an insane amount of times just to get one style to level 50.
It's really grindy and repetitive and it's my least favorite thing about Ishin.
How is the arena? I see that enemies are tough if you go unprepared, but what about when you're prepared and have great weapons and armor? Do they do down easily like chumps or do they still feel like they take forever like in 5's arena with their millions of health bars?
Would you let your daughterfu become an idol?
Really not a fan of the arena in Ishin. At the beginning of the game it's stupidly hard with enemies stunlocking you and taking you out in a single combo. But it becomes pathetically easy once you make good equipment with good symbols (symbols are things you can insert in your equipment that give you certain abilities like health regeneration or more melee damage). Once you make a good gun, you can spam Komaki to death by just mashing square on him. Even if you use your sword, it eventually becomes powerful enough that you can take anyone out in a few counters.
I feel Ishin has way more rpg elements that the other rgg games and it often feels like the solution to a hard fight is "grind more", instead of "git gud".
>In Yakuza 2, Haruka says she isn't interested in the entertainment industry
>Yakuza 5 tries to allude she suddenly does
>"See she's working hard, she clearly wants to!"
>Actually becomes more apparent Park pushed it on her and then becomes achieving Park's dream
>"N-no audience, Haruka still wants to be an idol, truly!"
>Park, Tatsuya, and even Majima help set up a dream team and they all seem happy about it
>Game ends with her just saying she achieved gaining Park's dream but actually never wanted this and reveals her Yakuza affiliation
>In one way it makes sense
>In another, it makes her look selfish as hell since all that nonsense about not just being about you, but your dream resonating with everyone like a ripple in a body of water -- those waves affect everyone who don't have a dream of their own
God such a bittersweet ending, but it hurts because it all felt like a waste of time by everyone's omission, all that effort, all that sacrifice, gone.
Wow, no balancing whatsoever went into this game it seems. Its either like Kenzan where going unprepared will make the game feel challenging but in a self afflicted way and not by the game being crafted in such a way, or becomes a standard JRPG where everything becomes effortless by just grinding a bit and you feel no satisfaction.
>it all felt like a waste of time by everyone's omission, all that effort, all that sacrifice, gone.
The upside is that they didn't kill off the entire supporting cast this time around, I guess.
I agree he fucked up. He let his brother lose an eye. His patriarch a mental wreck and his sister left as a whore and assassin for the man he was supposed to kill and basically started the whole chain of problems.
Well it's not that bad, all the abilities on the grid only cost one point so you get one new ability per level up. It only starts to feel really grindy if you want to reach max power in one ability by getting to 50, though this isn't required to finish the story.
I definitely have problems with some of the design decisions in Ishin. I really feel it's one of their more experimental games after Dead Souls. I can see the game dividing some people in the fanbase if it ever gets localized.
With that said, I still really enjoyed the game for its setting, music, cool action scenes and boss fights and the smooth 60 fps combat. Even the grind eventually became almost fun to me and I enjoyed becoming an unstoppable god like being that can take out bosses on ex hard in seconds.
Now obviously that wont appeal to everyone, but if you like the feeling of becoming really powerful in rpgs then you'll really enjoy Ishin.
Except a few like Moriniga and that family head that Taiga talked to. So many side characters, either fucked off screen for good or just dead questioning why they were to begin with.
>HOLY SHIT SO MORINAGA IS ACTUALLY TRAITOR?! CAN'T WAIT TO LEARN WHAT ALL THIS SHIT ABOUT
>never shows up again, dies offscreen
It was so pointless, I mean Aizawa said he killed him right? Then why make that entire sequence where he desperately wanted to know his location? To foreshadow that he's holding back and his tattoo? Why not do it in some other way or not do it at all because its fucking stupid and a waste of time and just wastes one character for no reason.
Everything you said about Ishin makes it sounds like a really interesting if a pretty fucking flawed game in some areas. It's a shame Ishin wasn't brought over..or Kenzan for that matter. I want my Samurai games damn it.
New to the Yakuza series, if I start at Yakuza 3 will I miss a lot of the story and references? I've always been interested in the series and looks really good to me.
Also does anyone own the Japan only release of the Yakuza 1&2 HD for the PS3? And if you do does it include English subtitles or english VA?
3 is kinda slowpaced in the beginning and mostly requires you to be attached to Kiryu and Haruka.
But every game has reminiscence cutscenes so you'll know a story. Still recommend you to emulate 1 and 2 (which is best one imo).
It doesn't include English at all.
Even with the reminiscence stuff you will miss out a ton of references down the line and not just in 3 but beyond that.
No English Dub and no, the HD Collection is pretty much never coming over, the PS3 is probably going to last this year and that's it, I just don't see anyone because maybe XSEED willing to take risks past 10 years.
>wants to get into the series
>asks if you should start with the latest game in the series
why are people so fucking retarded? whats the point in trying to get into a game, especially one with a heavy storyline, if youre not going to bother playing the others?
Well one final thing I would like to say on Ishin so as to not give the wrong impression, is that the grind only becomes apparent if you delve into the combat heavy side content (mainly arena, battle dungeon and Amon) or if you want to 100% the game.
Finishing just the stories and substories requires no grinding since it's just as easy as any other Yakuza game and you can still carry an ass load of healing items.
If you really enjoy samurai themed games and you don't mind using that guide on khhsubs, then I definitely recommend importing it since I doubt this will ever get localized.
have a ps2 or a pc that can emulate ps2 games?
1 and then 2
only have a ps3
3, 4 or 5 (some would tell you to skip 3 and start with 4)
wait for 0 to get released in English
Don't mind playing spin offs?
Dead souls on ps3, Kenzan on ps3 or Ishin on ps3 and ps4 (ishin and kenzan must be imported; obviously not recommended as a first game).
>Yakuza propaganda game
It has that romantic view of old-school yakuza but otherwise not really
the yakuza in general are portrayed as complete shitheads in these games, especially in the substories
I just finished chapter 2 of the finale.
I want off this ruse cruise
Is this game worth buying? Recently I tried to use my PS3 again to play downloadable stuff like Siren during the Christmas sale, but can't even be bothered to play it again even though it was fun. I played all the Yakuza games once and the freeroam afterwards never really interested me.
>my dick when deliciously 3D modeled cute jap feet
domodomo, haru-haru desu
So did you hear? Yakuza 5 finally got translated.
It has lots of content
But man, I wouldn't want to be the guy who's in charge of the localization
Cause some this shit is super fucking japanese
>Of course it is you retard
Like this comedy minigame, it relies on timing for a completely foreign genre of comedy, in a language that a foreign audience won't understand
But you know they couldn't cut it, after the reputation the series's endured all this time
And they didn't have the budget to try to alter it to be slightly easier on a foreign audience
It does slightly sting that I won't beat amon or 100% the game though
>You haven't beaten it?
Of course, I'm not fucking japanese
Sounds like you don't get the joke
>This is terrible, I said that's enough
Well... I guess you could say that wasn't
our best effort
>laughter gauge: 74
>My Meteor Tackle
>My Explosive Finish
>My Forcible Ascension
>My Double Evasion
I just keep thinking of pic related
You mean the Trivia X Trivia? That was also in 3, don't know about Dead Souls, but yeah they removed it from 3 & 4 for the same reasons, as in anyone outside of Japan wouldn't be able to answer the questions.
I think they left this one in because it seems they really want to please fans and not cut out a single thing anymore. Guess they got the memo most fans who do 100% these games use guides anyways. Though this minigame even with a guide was kinda annoying.
Oh no! Haruka fell into a time warp and ended up in the 80's! Hijinks ensue, and 20yo Kiryu and 16yo Haruka run into each other. What happens?
Haruka probably feels relieved though hides her identity, but then gets off putted by Kiryu being so different, as in way more brash, violent, and jut so indifferent about other people's issues.
those eyebrows are insane
ive already hnnnged too hard
Time travelling Yakuza spin-off with triple Kiryu protagonists, triple Haruka daughterfus and I guess two different Daigos to save when? Doc Brown's in the game already even
I never bothered with the hostess shit in the previous games and don't plan to start now, but the one on the far right is a cutie. Wish she dressed more like an actual person and not like a call girl though
Also starring Evil Kazuma from a different timeline where Nishki went to jail. And he is the main bad guy along with his kyuodai Ryuji.
This would be 10/10 just by the premise alone.
>In a rare interview in 2011, Tsukasa claimed that anti-yakuza crackdowns could end up backfiring, since groups such as the Yamaguchi-gumi provided many young Japanese with a moral code.
>“If the Yamaguchi-gumi were to disband, public order would probably worsen,” he told the Sankei newspaper. “I know it may be hard to believe, but I am protecting Yamaguchi-gumi in order to lose the violent groups.”
This is Yakuza (the games) as fuck, I'd almost believe that it's just some wacky Sega publicity stunt or something.
I'm not joking, I fucking love the spinoff games. I think it's a great idea.
I had an idea of a Fantasy-themed RGG a while back. Knight Kiryu, runaway princess Haruka & Akiyama as a wizard.
I want sci-fi RGG game that references every crazy spin-off game, even Project x Zone and Binary Domain.
No need for stupid twists and "smart" story about some big theme like YUME.
Just a wacky, charming fanservise title with a lot of imagination and refined mechanics.
Kiwami soundtrack sounds fucking garbage compared to the original.
>Shitty electronic music, nothing wrong with electronic music but it doesn't match up to the original and sounds awful.
Zero had god tier songs, some of the best in the series.
>Haha... You think I serious ever cared about your stupid little club? The only reason I trashed your clubroom was to draw you out here...
>My true goal was making you miss your quarterly test!
>Akiyama gives away candies instead of money
>Saejima decides to escape from detention after hearing something about Majima
>Haruka is Kiryu's stepmother and way older than him
>nobody picks up slingshots and everyone loves turning their back towards bullies
>Daigo is a toddler
>Kashiwagi just graduated and moved away
>some american student with glasses and broken english tried to seize the sandbox near the school so he could make a sandbase out of it
>Haruka doesn't know that Kiryu goes to Hostess clubs
Seriously? That is strange considering she knows what he usually does. Also, what the fuck Akiyama? Not only do you black mail him you make him pay when you're the one asking the favor?! The hell man.
Okay so this means this is Kiryu's son. He did end up banging Yumi before everything went to shit and had this kid before Haruka but sent him off somewhere then had Haruka,
I think if Aizawa used his katana in the final battle it would make more sense.
Then you could argue like "he is actually a master weapon specialist" instead of "he was just playing around
Now here's the obligatory plot twist
Yeah that introduction was weak.
After you wooed all four hostess in every city and bring them back to Elise, Akiyama asks Kiryu to woo the new girl at his club, once you go ask MEB to take you to Elise, he runs down on all the info about each girl and comments on about the each person, exception being himself that he comments on how she must be doing well, while he says he didn't imagine Taiga could score so well a girl, he says its not surprising Akiyama could score well, and he acts shocked and says those words on Shinada.
I mean with Taiga it sounds kinda dickish though Akiyama already said that as well and its more friendlier jab, while for Shinada it comes out nowhere that he didn't have a favorable opinion on him at all.
>I dont think I'm pretty
With Saejima Kiryu just said that he was surprised IIRC, not that he didn't imagine that he could land a chick like that
whereas with Shinada, yeah he thought that the guy was just a shmuck
just get a 2,5 inch hdd, they don't cost the world
Kiryu:Gets daughter back
Saejima: Gets to MUH KYODAI
Akiyama: Gets Yakuza respect
Shinada: Gets bareback sex
Shinada gets the best happy ending
It's funny because Shinada's job is to talk with these girls and short of Akiyama who owns a hostess bar he should be the one with the most experience with that job
>"recently, we lost two people who were like a mother and a father to us..."
>your mother, and I'm sure you father, too, will be back someday soon
>You must give 5 million to some scumbag to leave a dumb bitch alone to finish up her sidequest and hostess stuff in general
Are you fucking kidding? They ask for over 10 million for weapons and now they want 5 million for this? Man this game is really testing my patience.
Might have liked three more if it didn't drag on so much with the Okinawa segment and hadn't been completely castrated with it's content. Yakuza 2 is on the top because overall it had the best story and Osaka is really fucking comfy.
Kenzan already has an excellent translation and a fucking amazing LP of the entire game sans commentary
, and Ishiin also has a pretty good guide.
They're fully playable as long as you use the guide.
I know the plot in yakuza games has been just rediculous in a lot of cases but they really just killed me in 5. I mean towards the end the majority of the plot points were just excuses for main characters to fight eachother, the one where WE MUST FIGHT THE EACHOTHER TO THE DEATH ALMOST TO DRAW OUT THE BAD GUY. I mean I get the idea but the way after it was said everyone just goes "oh yeah I guess so" just didn't sit right. Really that's not the worst one but the whole final sequence felt like excuses for fights rather than ridiculous but yakuza plot points.
They agreed readily cause if they backed out they'd ruin their reputations.
>Did you know that the Dragon of Dojima is a fucking pussy?
Would be spread by everyone and ruin Kiryu's legacy forever
yet the dialogue could have been much better than
WE SHOULD DO THIS
>THATS A TERRIBLE IDEA
NO ITS A GOOD IDEA
again, it didn't feel like one of the ridiculous yakuza situations I've come to know and love but rather a scrambled together excuse to make them fight.
Don't blame them for it maan.
Kiryu was just used to fighting the final boss on top of a giant building.
He just wasn't expecting Kurosawa to do the dastardly act and climb the building by the side.
I mean even Daigo says "yeah you're only in this building because you're sick"
If this was literally every other Yakuza game it would've worked
I mean, you have nothing to lose giving emulation a shot. Another anon seems to have gotten the game to run alright. Otherwise, PS2s aren't expensive, neither is a copy of the game. It's possible that the remake will get localized if you wanna hold out for that, but it'll be a while. And you'll need a PS4 if you don't already have one.
i can almost make it out now........
JUST ONE MORE ENAHNCE
>Don't emulate PS2 because comp is garbage
>Want to get Y2
It started off as good, in theory. Top Omi guys and Top Tojo guys beat each other senseless, seemingly falling right into the mastermind's plan and luring him out. Makes sense. Except then Kiryu and Saejima decided to they also need to beat the fuck out of each other just because. And Katsuya forgot to consider what would happen if the cowardly scheming scumbag would do something cowardly like bringing a gun.
