Anyone know how to access the eshop or update the mii plaza and shit like that on emunand? Using a new 3ds with 9.5 emunand. I put the tubehax DNS shit in to block system updates and I feel like that's what's doing it but I also done want to accidentally upgrade the system firmware through updating other components and softbrick my emunand.

You will keep your current data, all games and all saves but your NNID will be unlinked. That means being unable to access eshop or download anything from it. Once your emunand is on high enough firmware you may however link it again and lose nothing.

You are injecting your current Sysnand onto EMUNAND with all your purchase history, information etc etc, all this is linked to a folder on your sd-card which also has all your installed games and their shit. You are then only formatting your 3ds' SYSNAND so the actual nand is completely clean. You format the system, remove your sd-card right before clicking format, and then reinstall it during the reboot. This causes your sd-card to gain another systemdata folder for all your games and their shit, however it's just idling there empty as you're not installing anything on the sysnand.

Afterwards you boot into Emunand with RXTOOLS which is a clone of your old sysnand and contains information of all your gamedata etc on your memory card linked to the original folder with all the games.

Just one question. As long as I have Menuhax I can downgrade at anytime?

I'm on a European N3DSXL running rxtools+emunand 9.5, I also have freemultipatcher as well as FBI for installing stuff and pastacfw

I have a etrian odyssey 2 untold fafnir US .cia

According to http://3dsdb.com/ that only requires 9.4 firmware so I suppose it should work fine whether it's cryptofixed or not.

Now here's the thing: I also have a .cia with DLC for this game (obviously from US region, too)

I heard using DLC .cia's from out of your region can be problematic, though. What can I do to make that work and what do I have to pay attention to?

I can give you clues though. You use a program called decrypt 9 that you put in your homebrew. Using it, you extract hs.app. Then connecting your SD to your PC and use this program

You use that to merge the FBI.CIA with the hs.app. after that you put hs.app back on your SD. From there you should boot into your emunand and your health and safety warning will be a FBI installer. Go into that and install your games, they'll appear as presents on the home screen.

Sorry if this is super vague but maybe you can find the guide I followed by googling. This was all just off the top of my head, it took me forever to figure out the part your stuck on

It's simple, anon. With menuhax installed and configured to autoboot, you rename the boot file for homebrewlauncher and put in the ctr file and the ctr boot file. That way when it autoboots, it's autobooting ctr and you get to choose what to load. If you load rxtools, it will load right into the emunand, or you can go to the rxtools menu.

If on the O3DS, go to system settings and check firmware, if it's RX-9.2.0 you're good to update it from there, in on the N3DS you can only go up to 9.5.0, so get that update(FULL) put onto your memory card, then get the github sysupdater https://github.com/profi200/sysUpdater/releases (I used the one released last summer since it was confirmed safe), install sysupdater.cia onto your emunand, launch from there and update

REMOVE THE SD CARD.
Turn on ds go to settings and other settings.
Go to the far right page and format your 3ds. It woll connect to internet thats fine.

Ok I just installed my first .cia game
It was Xenoblade Chronicles 3D USA on my Japanese N3DS
The .cia installed perfectly fine and I can see the game on my home menu. When I click to play it though it goes to a black screen with a Japanese error saying "An error has occured, please power OFF the system" blah blah.

Any idea as to what happened?
Is there an extra step I need to take to install US/EU .cia files on a Japanese system?

Should I install ntr first or the fire emblem stuff?

does it matter what order
