>Looking at playstation store
>decide to look at themes
>see a theme for amplitude
>"A theme for one of my favorite PS2 games? Huh, how weird."
>Come to find out a new amplitude game came out yesterday
WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU GUYS TELL ME ABOUT THIS?
>>322996096
because any one who cares is playing it
game is pretty good by the way
>>322996096
isn't this better tho?
at least you didn't have to struggle with the agony of waiting for it to come out
Because Frequency was the better game. Better music, and the tunnel wrapped around, which gave more possibilities for combos.
>/v/
>discussing video games instead of shitposting about FOTM and memes
glad to see ps4's library is getting bigger, I'd be interested in the console myself by now if I actually had the cash.
Even I knew and was barely on yesterday.
>>322996096
they've refined the gameplay but the songs suck and it's missing something from the old one
>>322996096
because its a PS game, /v/ its all about memes, PCucking, Memetale and Nintendo circle jerking
>>322996096
>WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU GUYS TELL ME ABOUT THIS?
I left you like three messages about it.
Because it's budget as fuck.
>No licensed music
>UI is as barebones as it could get, not even any song banners
>No online multi (Kickstarter didn't get enough for it)
>NO REMIX MODE
>PS3/4 controller's R2 is kinda shit for this game which you feel hard on Expert/Superhuman difficulty
>Chromatic Abherration
Fucking loving it.
How do you unlock Super mode?I'm not even good enough for Expert anyway
>>322996334
>tfw you didn't back it and had to wait weeks while backers got to have fun and gitgud
>>322996493
The new one has a tunnel option called FreQ mode which unlocks when you beat the campaign on any difficulty.
But instead of swapping lanes individually you can just seek to the next available track now, so streaking is easier regardless of which mode you use.
>>322997051
For a low-budget Kickstarter game, I don't think I could ask for a better Amplitude revival.
Especially when it has
>more songs than Amplitude or Frequency
>an actual story mode
>solid tracklist (except that one backer song)
>seek movement between tracks
>those visuals
For $20, can't go wrong
woah
are you serious
Amplitude and Frequency were my favorite rhythm games of the PS2 era

>>322996096
Why can't I buy the fucking theme?
>>322998880
>seek movement between tracks
Wish this wasn't turned on in the local multi. There's no way to claim tracks while waiting on new ones to appear.
That said, it ties into my dislike of this games problem with reading visibility of the note on the track you're about to shift to, especially if the road decides to take a sharp turn or go over a hump which makes reading even the notes on the current track a pain to gauge the timing.
>>322998880
>more songs than Amplitude or Frequency
Really?
>>322999069
I don't know why but I watched the whole thing and tapped along with it
>>322999632
It has 30, which isn't a whole lot more, but still.
With the lack of licensed music I have figured they'd go full hog on using indie game music, but all we got was a couple pieces at most.
That Skullgirls piece is sitll pretty damn great though.
Where's the glorious return of this song
>that synth track

There's a $20 DLC track pack coming in the future as well.
Just a shame how terrible the campaign progression is. It just kinda ends.
>>323000925
>$20 DLC track pack coming in the future as well
Really? I never heard about that
Also yeah, I'm not really sure what's supposed to happen at the end of the story
From the lyrics I gather we turn Sarah into a superhuman by unlocking her perceptions or some shit
>>323001024
The old Kickstarter mentions a post-launch DLC valued at $20 for one of the backer reward tiers.
>>323001269
Oh, I'm into that.
My one hope for this game was that it got support post-launch.
And on the Kickstarter note, I hope no other game gives backer-exclusive DLC. In Amplitude's case it's having a green K besides your name on the leaderboards.
>>323001448
Backers got an exclusive nanoblaster as well
>>323001582
That was for the $100-tier and above. All I got was the thing for extra DLC whenever it's out, and the K beside my username for the $35 tier.
I hope it does well enough for Harmonix to consider investing some of the money back into the game to expand its functionality. It feels really neutered without a remix mode and being able to share your mixes online.
>>323001394
I just saw that it's backer DLCF U C K
>>323002050
It'll come to everyone, just Backers got it slightly cheaper.
>>322996096
You never asked...!
>mfw i paid for a copy through kickstarter but i'm too late to claim it
>it wasn't even a code for the game just PSN store credit (US only) enough to purchase it
what the fuckin shit wheres my money back senpai
>>323003749
>too late to claim it
Your fault really
>>322996096
CHECK THIS 9
>>323005165
you mean my 3?
>>323005165
>>323005254
>They do not know about my 8
>>323000504
They couldn't use it, the Kickstarter didn't make enough to include licensed music.
>favorite game is a rhythm gamei have no room to talk, i've got 100 hours on audiosurf
>tfw you never managed to get the money for your backerkit add-ons until the point where it was getting constantly declined by the bank
God I want this soundtrack so bad right now it's killing me
>>323003749
How the actual fuck? I got a code for the game just fine with a fancy Backer thank you and a supposed icon
>>323005464
>audiosurf
>rhythm game
come on
>>323008943
then what is it
