About to order a 3ds to kill some time over the next few months, what games should I get?
Also is a "new" 3ds worth the extra cash?
>About to order a 3ds to kill some time over the next few months, what games should I get?
Theathrythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call
>Also is a "new" 3ds worth the extra cash?
Not really. Its only useful for Monster Hunter and Xenoblade. If you intend on getting those, then buy it. Otherwise, don't bother.
>Also is a "new" 3ds worth the extra cash?
If you consider a face-tracking 3D feature, built-in Amiibo NFC reader, a nipple c-stick, and a bit faster load times, and two N3DS exclusive games, by all means.
Charge your fucking phone senpai.
Also. Why not run CFW and free games ?
because i got it pretty cheap and i wanna use a flashcart to play classic emulators and shit on, which my vita cant do, and i want a proper console with physical buttons which my phone also cant do.
>Nintendo in charge of localizing anything and censoring everything.
Yeah I love to wait a year for new fire emblem and monster hunter games while they are already out in japan because they don't give a fuck about their biggest market.
These are my current games along with Tales of the Abyss which is on my desk. I personally love all these games. Looking into getting pokemon mystery dungeon/etrian Mystery dungeon, link between worlds, FF explores in a few weeks, and DQ 7 and 8 to show support for the series.
I also suggest getting the N3DS
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is worth checking out. Fun and challenging. Enjoyable simply to look at. Characters are surprisingly likable. Admittedly fanservicey, though, just by its fundamental nature - but only really due to the garb and appearance of the female characters.
It's basically a gba flash card with the ram expansion. Most good slot-1 flash cards have integrated support for this particular slot-2 flash card. If you flash it with a rom, it will work in a gba (assuming you jam it in there or get the fat one)
>is n3ds worth it
Will you be playing Smash Bros.?
Will you play Monster Hunter 4U, Xenoblade Chronicles, Zelda: Majora's Mask?
Would you like the system's 3D gimmick to not be hot garbage but actually be semi-functional?
Are you willing to shell out money for a faster user interface?
All of the Zelda games are good, though in different respects. ALBW is the best Zelda game in years, Triforce Heroes is a fun multiplayer spin on Zelda, both are a breath of fresh air in a stagnant franchise. OOT and MM are only recommended if you haven't played the originals / have a serious nostalgia boner: they're very good remakes but the 3DS has better things to offer than remasters of N64 games.
Despite what a lot of people say, both Pokemon games on the 3DS are solid entries in the series.
Smash Bros. is rad, and is actually somewhat comparable to the WiiU version. It lacks some of WiiU's bells and whistles, but the core game is there. Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, on the other hand, are both decent games, but feel entirely invalidated by the existence of their WiiU counterparts.
Kid Icarus: Uprising is the best game you will ever play, but the control scheme is not suited to the 3DS and its painful to play.
Pushmo is a fantastic puzzle game that deserves a look. It's not even $10. Do it.
If you like classic Final Fantasy, and are willing to put up with a disappointing third act, check out Bravely Default. Its everything you loved about old Final Fantasy titles but made modern and cool again.
Can't speak for n3ds because I have the older one.
I hear it's slightly lighter (helps for extended gaming) the battery life is longer, and it's got more processing power.
Zelda, Link to the Past 2
Mario 3D Land
Phoenix Wright (all)
A lot actually, about half the games I've played weren't that fun.
Senran Kagura has its own general and the gameplay is just awful. Avoid unless you're looking to fap.
Kid Icarus is love-it or hate-it. I hate-it, the touchscreen controls feel very arbitrary.
SMT4, unless you're a fan of the series
Sm4sh - play the wiiu version. Also, bring friends or it's not going to be very fun. Actually, play a better fighter instead.
Fantasy Life - grind your life away with bighead avatars. Shallow and repetitive.
Pokemon - New pokemans, same game. The formula hasn't changed, but collecting everything still takes forever. Hardware lag in multi-battles is depressing for a current gen AAA title.
Rune Factory 4 - Literally put me to sleep
Theatrhythm - Tap along to music, or just stream that music while you play a game that doesn't suck.
I mean, if you can find it for a good price, and if it's not that much compared to a normal 3ds, might as well get the "New" one.
games to get, some are already mentioned but
Legend of Legacy
Senran Kagura 2
Luigis Mansion Dark Moon
Mario 3d Land
Majoras Mask 3d
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (still a lot playing, may take time to get into)
Chibi Robo Zip Lash
Updated basket. Had to cut down on gaems if i get the new xl. Can always get more later but i have to sink some cash into furnishing ma new shagpad
It is. 100% satisfied.
Also 3d in that game is fucking amazing.
Sound is great too.
Yeah there are videos on youtube that show you how to get an ips 3ds. Box is same outside but the inside is different. Good luck hunting for an ips n3dsxl!
