it's called don't play BFG.

Doom 3 is garbage, never play it. Play Doom 64 instead (using Doom 65 EX). It's what Doom 3 should've been.

Yeah, sure, the textures look like they're from Fallout 4, but the lighting, art direction, character models etc make up for it.

Why can't they just make another good Doom game? Why do they keep fucking doing it wrong? Doom and Paper Mario are the same fucking franchise at this point.

3 has dynamic shadows, BFG has better textures
3 has a flashlight as extra weapon, BFG has the flashlight mounted on your weapons
3 can be heavily modded, BFG can only be modded with its own BFG mods
3 has only 3 in it, BFG has everything DOOM related included
3 has sikkmod for HD Textures, BFG has HiDef for HD Textures

Doom 3 wasn't a bad game and compared to modern fps games it's a lot more fun because it doesn't have dumb shit like regenerating health or weapon limits,

Compared to Doom 1/2 yeah it's not the same but it's good in it's own right and in it's day was crazy good for tech in vidya

If you want it to feel more like older Doom games get an unlimited/always sprint mod.

I don't really recommend always sprint because it doesn't fit right with some of Doom 3s levels but I can understand if people would want it

depth of field, but you can fully customise how it works.
I think by default depth of field only is applied when reloading, opening the pipboy, etc.
