Dell won. ASUS, BenQ, LG, Samsung and all the rest have been absolutely BTFO.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present the ultimate monitor, the Dell UP3017Q:

>120Hz refresh rate
>30"
>absurdly small bezels
>0.1ms response time

>>322963506
That's nice and all, but what about the VIDEO GAMES. It's worthless without the vidya.

> $5k for an OLED that will look like piss after a few thousand hours of use
OLED is barely acceptable in phones and TVs since they don't tend to be left on for 10+ hours every day.
Wake me up when I can buy a 40"+ non-TN 120Hz UHD LCD.

Feel free to post an up-to-date version.
any new ultrasharps this year or should i just pull the trigger on a u2415/u2515?
>>322964715
OLED lifespan increases with every generation, it's not 2013 any more. With that being said, I wouldn't want an OLED monitor unless it was P-OLED, or we're living in 2020 when OLED lifespan has progressed to a truly respectable level.

>3840x2160 resolution
Into the trash it goes.
I play as many emulated games on my rig as I do PC games. Some of those emulated games I have to play in software mode aka native es. Native looks fine at 1080p, but, but higher than that? no thanks
I'll stick with my 23" 1080p monitors.
>>322965687
1080p is a perfect quotient of 2160p so I don't see the issue. Your emulated games in software mode should look the same on a 4K display as they do on a 1080p, assuming the same size.
>>322965009
OLED is still a fundamentally compromising format for motion display, especially as 120fps native content gets closer to being a thing.
subpixel wear is non-linear with brightness, so OLEDs will never be able to match LCDs for peak transient brightness/minimum duty cycle for strobing unless you burn them out incredibly quickly.
things like VR might be OK since you don't need things that bright if you block out all ambient light.

the word you're looking for is "divisor", anon

>4K @ 120hz
I thought DP 1.2 could only carry a full 4K signal at 60hz? Or are they doing something retarded like lowering the chroma subsampling to get DP to carry it at 120?
>>322968513
DP1.3 does 4K120
>>322968104
That's a bargain, did you not read the article?
>It can display 1.07 billion colors
Fucking finally they are releasing a true 10 bit 4K monitor. I'm tired of 8bit FRC panels everywhere.
>conveniently leaves out price
OP confirmed for loving DELLicious cocks in every shill hole.
>>322968104
Cheaper than VR.
>>322964193
monitors are cheaper since they dont come with smart tv crapware and chinese sweatshop speakers
>>322970318
>since they dont come with [...] chinese sweatshop speakers
I wish. My Acer H236HL is a great bargain and is a nice budget IPS, but it has shitty speakers inbuilt which could've shaved even more bezel or price off if they weren't present.
>>322963506
>oled
Into the trash
>only 30 inches
For what purpose? If you are going to have all those features you might as well make it 38-40", which should be the standard monitor size by now.
>>322963506
>4k @ 120fps
People can barely run games @ 4k60 with 2 enthusiast cards. No reason to buy this until software bottlenecking is resolved and the new display port comes out. No games are even coming out 2016, should just wait until we have another year like 2015, by then 4k will be the standard and so will DX12 support.
>>322971329
Fully agree, I've had a few 40" 4k monitors over the last few years and they should absolutely be on their way to being the new standard for PC displays.
>>322973018
>DX12 support
>standard
Hopefully not, we need open standards so that we can escape the console-style forced upgrades. Vulkan needs to deliver.
>>322964276
Wow just kinda skimmed a bit but this looks like a pretty awesome site. Thanks Anon. Will use this when I upgrade my PC at some point in the future.
What about a good WQHD monitor?
