I played it a few weeks ago on my N64, it holds up surprisingly well, unlike the N64 analog stick.

Why doesn't Nintendo just remake Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask in a proper current gen engine though? They could add new content with more sidequests, NPCs and maybe even new places to visit, then wrap everything up with a sequel to Majora's Mask. It's better than wasting time making a lazy facelift for Twilight Princess.

jesus how did they fuck the lighting so bad? The atmosphere is what made Ganon such an entertaining boss fight, because he honestly wasn't that difficulty compared to the other adult bosses. You've got this huge silhouette where all you can make out is its glowing eyes when suddenly a flash of lightning and boom of thunder momentarily reveals the great beast before it sinks back into the shadows. You mess with the lighting and you completely destroy that.

I think OoT is a great game. But comparatively speaking, the worst 3D Zelda game. Because every 3D Zelda after it built and expanded on what it introduced. Similar reason to why the original Zelda is my least favorite in the series, but still a good game.

That's Skyward Sword, and that's not counting Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

I remember liking this game a whole bunch when I was a kid, but I was never able to bring myself to beat another Zelda game after that, and even returning to OOT a few years ago I couldn't get through the game.

I'm....undecided if the game was always that terrible and I was just a dumb kid, or if Zelda just so happens to be a fantastic game if you've never played them before but with a formula that isn't very conducive to repeated playthroughs and rehashes, and you can't really fault the game for that.

OOT was my 4th Zelda game and it was very underwhelming. I felt the transition to 3D was premature and that it really didn't explore the medium, it merely translated a 2D Zelda game into 3D visuals. MM was the first Zelda game that actually felt like a real 3D Zelda, and it was a much better experience.
