It's the only MOBA that I can tolerate, if it even can be considered one.
The cast is fine, if not bullshit at times. Worst offenders are Illidan and Kael'thas. No other character can be as bullshit frustrating as these two fags; you're either really fucking good, or they're dragging your team down single handedly. There is no in between. The maps are aesthetically pleasing, other than the raven one. FUCK that map. The Pay to Win aspect is hilariously non-existent; all useful stuff can be earned through a moderate amount of gameplay. That is, so long as your group doesn't suck. The team aspect is required, which is a good thing. Entire team levels, not just one dick sucker getting fed. This means you need your entire team to not be stupid, and you can do great with less time spent than other games.
The fact that it's free and has zero pay to win other than quicker player leveling (which only lets you get into rank matches or get your WoW pet) means it's a good game. It's definitely better than those number crunching games like LoL and Dota2, is more accessible to new players, and is much easier to master. Also, one of the few cases where less is more. Fuck 30+ keybinds, 6-8 is enough.
>>322952325 I go in phases with hots. I'll play the shit out of it for a month, then take a break for a month. Been like that since the alpha. Still enjoyable occasionally though, it's less stressful than Dota 2 since it's just easier to pick up and the games don't last long. I like the variety of maps, I think that goes a long way to make the game better since you're not just playing the exact same shit all the time
>>322953849 >HOTS is pretty much the only good ASSFAGGOT because its aim is to be a fun video game It aimed for it, but it couldn't have missed much harder Also doesn't the game have a ranked queue and official tournaments?
>>322954163 no the developers have clearly stated they aimed for a fun and casual game that fits their template of "easy to learn, hard to master" but as the game progressed through the Alpha they got overwhelming feedback to make it more E-Sports, so they decided to throw some tournaments for the fanbase. So yes its kind of both but "fun" came first.
pretty much the only moba that I played that didn't die so far
>Dawngate >Dead Island Epidemic >Infinite Crisis >and some other shitty mobas I can't remember the names off
but soon hots will die
>queques take up to 2+ minutes and their excuse is better matchmaking which is a lie and on top of that at weekends queue was super fast >laggy servers, I and many other people get minilags and this is since launch and probably even since beta but haven't played at that time yet >introduce extreme cancer champion that is as strong as 2 champions and is played by 2 people but you get 1 less teammate so it's 4vs5 >he will roll over you in 1vs1 and win game if players are good (can literally destroy first towers in first minute of game) or will be useless when noobs play him and you lose >people play him all the time >fuck you blizzard
>A 5v5 player game is called casual. The enemy team isn't going to fall into your lap and die for you so how is that casual? Not having to PvE in a lane for 20 minutes, reading a build on mobafire and a focus on team fighting makes the game casual? Right.
>>322952325 >Game is easily the most lazy fun you can have with a MOBA >No one rages, even in ranked >Game is fucking simple
Really its only competition is Dota 2 because it is actually a competitive and fun game. I don't understand how someone can play LoL or Smite, let alone half the other turds out there when this be all, end all exists.
>>322959258 >Not having to PvE for 20 minutes easiest way to win is PvEing for map control >reading a build on mobafire you mean like reading the ~2 useful builds each class has on hotslogs is better? >focus on team fighting you mean how you can completely win team fights endlessly and the enemy team can just catch up in levels with little to no effort, making all that team fighting pointless?
Go fuck off if you dont know what youre talking about faggot
>>322961790 Dude all they have to fuckin' do is do a "get a free Hearthstone pack if you win a game of HotS!" event or some shit and suddenly it's full of people. They've got a huge normie userbase and it's literally right there in the battle.net client, free to play.
>>322953675 >The team aspect is required, which is a good thing. Entire team levels, not just one dick sucker getting fed. This means you need your entire team to not be stupid, Only part that infuriates me. You're not rewarded for making great plays but rewarded by not making shit plays. Individual skills have little impacts and it's ridiculously hard to carry games. If I want to carry, I have to babysit my entire team by telling them what to do and when to retreat, AT ALL TIMES. I have to watch for overextending players, I have to watch for missing people in their lanes and ping danger to my mates. It's really exhausting if you want to win. Or I could just "play for fun" and ride the 50% winrate train but that's just unacceptable for me.
>>322954982 >"easy to learn, hard to master" Isn't that the motto of half the competitive games now-a-days?
What developer that makes multiplayer games doesn't want to break into the e-sports theme anyway? It's free money and fans will buy anything you throw at them. Having a large enough autistic fanbase is basically years of free money no matter how bad you get. Look at WoW, FNaF and CS:GO.
