I remember Vexx had a level like that. I dunno if it was hard or I got lost, but I don't remember playing past that level. I was pretty young and only rented it. Cool game though, still sticks out in my memory from time to time.

Yeah, there's a lot of attention to detail in the levels, it's fairly difficult and the boss fights are pretty good. Also has a really good sense of scale

There was this UT2004 map I got off a server I joined randomly that was basically this. Two story house with all this shit scattered around. They had cool little passageways between the floors that were just the stairs like vents and random rat holes and stuff.

I miss that map. And that game. Wait, I bought it on gog. Wonder if their galaxy client has any active players....

Used to play a map like that on hl2 tdm quite a bit.
