Any NA Lobbies up?
I've tried so many times but nobody joins my lobbies when I create them, even when they are set to public for 10+ minutes
I can join them though...but I've stuck to public ones/playing the hell out of normal arcade mode trying to get better.
My Chumpkin is shit, so I tried making a start at Chipp.
The jump installs and j2k breaking aren't even that bad. For some reason I'm having huge fucking issues with jump canceling j.S reliably and wall clinging after hitting alpha blade. I can alpha -> cling with 100% success rate if it whiffs, but on hit it just never works.
Cursed to fish for Chump Busters forever.
Made an EU room: 2mt6.
Anthic and Kogo get in here.
That is a strange issue with wall cling. Out of curiosity, you aren't trying do to raw air alpha blade wall cling while opponent is in the corner right? Just asking because that doesn't work, their hitbox would block you from clinging to the wall.
I noticed that that one didnt work after numerous tries. However, in theory jD -> Alpha -> cling -> alpha should work. Its a small chance I pull it off though. Inputting the cling during the jd into alpha cancel doesnt do jack, while its totally fine if I do it on a whiff.
Straight jD just cause knock down. You need to do whatever into 2D>236S>263H>jD>alpha>cling>alpha. You want to input the cling right after alpha input. Should look like 236P46.
I tried to play him but its really discouraging getting someone into 12 combos only for them to kill you in 3
Im doing that combo but cant pull it off. I cant cling after that jD -> alpha.
Ive done it once by mistake and cleared his last trial, I actually cleared all his trials. I still cant reliably cling.
Stop being faggots and get in here. Play some vidya for once /v/
don't bother anon, nobody on /v/ wants to actually play guilty gear when they can just circle jerk about music and mains and waifus while shitting on bb players for doing the exact same thing.
i'd join your lobby but i'm a filthy sonygger. why no crossplay arcsys please.
It's kind of grating when a Xrd thread has 350 posts but no one actually wants to play the game.
Losing valuable time which could be spend on arguing who has the cutest feet
Well, if I were EU I'd hop in, but the netcode is nowhere near good enough for that.
Dropped Millia for Leo and my winrate has skyrocketed. I feel like with Millia there's so many mixup options I have to keep in mind that I kept getting smacked by DPs/grabs on wakeup.
With Leo I just gotta pick between high low or bait DP and every hit converts into huge damage with easy ABC confirms that double as block strings. Guess i'm a dirty Leo picker now.
It's true, anon, Leo is much easier to utilize, but consider that, once you get a hold of your character, Millia is going to take you a lot farther. Besides, can't you just stick with either that sliding blade low or tiger knee bad moon for mixups until you grow more comfortable?
Just started to use a dualshock ps4 controller on pc. Couldn't get it to connect via wireless bluetooth for some reason, so still trying to figure that out, but wired seems fine. But now i'm experiencing that memory leak every once in a while and have to unplug the controller all the time to fix it.
Is this the reason everyone keeps asking for a patch? its really annoying
I've seen a lot of not so good millia's stand too close when they drop the disc and get grabbed out of the recovery.
I was fighting a leo today with massive lag and it pissed me the hell off because I could see his cross up coming but couldn't react fast enough through the delay so he just juggled me back forth midscreen.
the only notable leo is zidane and he has like 20 years of experience with the series and was an anji player before, so he knows all about the struggle. you could easily make the case that it's the player winning in this case, no tthe character.
This literally will never apply to about 95% of players in the first place.
Leos that get there are either lucky with fighting people that don't know how to deal with Leo or lucky in that they made all the right guesses.
Against top players Leo is completely irrelevant, but the amount of players that are in this bracket of skill are so small you can enjoy your happy Leo life against randoms to your heart's content all the way up until the game dies.
If Tomo doesn't do this CONSISTENTLY it is not relevant to mention.
Not everything is balanced around one first to ten.
Unless you're in a tournament scene or with friends taking the game as seriously as you do the most that will happen is simple casual matches offline.
>Leo makes it to top 8 on loser's side
>Gets wrecked in seconds against better players
>Implying there isn't luck in tournaments based on seeding
Tomo went to Mikado and Karinchu wouldn't use his card because of it. Leo is not bad. He's just hard to win with at high level. Everybody is. Elphelts get destroyed in Japan and you don't see people saying she's bad.
>Finally get to final stage without continues on Hard
>Ramlethal decides to be a little bitch and literally shower me with specials
>Used 7 continues
I don't get it. She never did this. The most she has done was do that bullshit railgun attack that takes away 50+% even while shielded, but she never, EVER used so many fucking specials in a single round. I didn't even know she had regenerating tension.
This shit is rigged ;_;
She did that only twice and managed to stay behind her. The problem is when she does the one that grabs you. It JUST SO HAPPENS that she did that every single time I was in no position to avoid it. I swear, it was reading my inputs
I don't own this game but i have played almost every other fighter ever and there is something i don't understand
How in the ever living fuck Leo whitefag balanced?
form what it looks like when i see people play him he has
>that he can charge to do multipul hit an become fucking huge
>some kind of gound mixup were he gets behind you
>even if he fucks that up he has a parry to cover it up
>if he fucks that up too he has a DP it looks like
>air reset combos
>and a long range super? to catch you off guard with
It looks like everything he does can be save in theory
If she gets nerfed because of you people crying I fucking swear.
Because I'm practicing in a pirated copy. I'll get Revelator when it comes out and my PS4 comes next month.
If I cannot even beat Arcade Mode in Hard, I'd rather not even try online
Made a EU room.
I am also streaming if /v/ friends like to watch.
My twitch channel is DJukor.
First time streaming anything ever.
I like to play Bedman Potemkin and Axel.
Just found out i can use my 970 to stream wo effecting game play.
I played him a lot on launch. I hated him when he was announced but fell in love with him after watching some JP footage.
The problem with Bedman is that he's kind of difficult to play. You can cheese it online and net some easy wins, particularly in the corner, but beyond that he's just... to many, not worth the effort.
I actually had a better answer back when I played the game more and knew what I was talking about. Check dustloop.
I switched to Elphelt for a good chunk of time and then re-mained I-No. I fucking hate seeing Elph's now
If that was true then it would be impossible.
CPU's seem to play rather repetitively. Axl and Venum always spam balls and chains, Bedman always does the same combo, Sol always volcanics your ass, etc
Is learning venom hard? I tried learning Ram and training goes fine but once it hits a real game.
Yeah, that ain't happnin'
I am new, yes, but there's always something to learn from everything. If I cannot learn how to counter something that is used all the time even when I know when it's coming, then I sure as hell won't be able to counter something online.
Ram is moderately difficult offline and a bit of a pain online due to how tight her execution is. Online, her combos are ridiculously hard to do.
She is also kind of boring to play and I really wish they'd do something to change her shit. Maybe in GG Xrd -Prolapse-.
Venom is execution-heavy but a lot of fucking fun. I'm thinking of switching him in as a sub; motherfucker is rewarding as fuck, but again, he is 'hard'.
That said, watch some match footage of like, FINO or something as motivation to git gud
The ground mixup can be thrown out of and any experienced player in the match up will throw you out of it if you just do it. His long range super can only be done in stance so a player will see it coming
Speaking of hard characters. Is May easy? I picked her for the first time in a /v/ lobby and was beating everyone.
People have slower reaction than the CPU. If you can't counter a move that you know is coming, it just means you're still just not reacting fast enough. That's it. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't practice against real people.
The problem with new people like you, you really think that people online are good players at once. No they're not. Stop with that fallacy. You're just scared that you'll keep on losing and lose interest.
Guess what, that's gonna fucking happen. You'll fucking lose 100 times before even fucking winning. That's how fighting games are. I'll never believe a fighting game player who says that he has a lot more wins than loses when he first started. Ever.
I play May a bit, too, and I wouldn't say she's difficult. I don't even like characters with charge inputs but she's fine.
>People have slower reaction than the CPU.
>The problem with new people like you, you really think that people online are good players at once. No they're not.
What I played of Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Smash Bros says otherwise.
you probably think that those players you're fighting are good, but the truth is that they're just average, and by a beginner standard that looks good. once you start improving you will start to see that these guys aren't really that much better than you are, and in fact they were probably closer to where you are now just a few months ago.
Each character has different defense and guts ratings, so everyone has the same health but they just take more or less damage depending on the stats. If you start a combo with or use a lot of jab type moves, they'll prorate the combo damage and significantly lower the number
>Sasajima Leisure Land Arcade
>Specific character uploads
I'm pretty new to fighting games and just bought Jojo All Star Battle.
I assume stuff like Blazblue and Guilty Gear are way harder to play, right? Nonetheless, do I really need an Arcade Stick or is the game enjoyable/worth in local/online with just a controller?
How hard is it to learn this game if you can't dedicate all your time to it?
no, you misunderstand, when you land a hit on the ai in a fighting game the game simply randomly decided to let you have that hit
every attack you use that isnt immediately blocked or punished by the ai is no matter of your skill, its a matter of the game saying 'yeah ill let you have that one'
you will learn no applicable skills by fighting the ai
>I assume stuff like Blazblue and Guilty Gear are way harder to play, right?
Yes. A lot of time and effort goes into just being competent even online. A lot of losses and lessons to learn and you have no one but yourself to blame when you lose, which can be discouraging. (which why in mobas you can just blame your shit team and feel good about it)
>do I really need an Arcade Stick
no, just use what you're comfortable with. I bought one because I thought it was what I needed but it's big, bulky, and I don't want to lug it around to play with a friend.
>How hard is it to learn this game if you can't dedicate all your time to it?
You don't need all your time unless you plan to go pro or something. I play casually and still have fun, but it still takes a good amount of time to become competent. You can shorten the time by putting in more effort to learn neutral game and watching your replays to learn.
>should i pull the trigger /v/?
I thought i could waint until street fighter V came up to get my fightan fix but mkx and sf4 just don't cut it anymore
Can someone explain to me how blockstrings work. I mean I know that they are meant to keep pressure on the opponent by making fake and true gaps in your strings to trip the opponent into opening up, but I don't know what moves I should use. Can someone explain that?
Blockstrings are used for many things including, but not limited to, mixup, spacing, conditioning your opponent, build meter, bait reversals, bait dead angles and all kinds of other shit depending on the characters. The only way to learn what's really good is through practice and understanding your opponent and his options.
depends on character. liek with ky, you would do something like 5k c.S and reset pressure with 6K, which is like a forward moving dash step into a kick move for him. Now, if you are predictable, they punish the startup with jab spam. You can also do stuff like a full blockstring gatling into fireball. or just 5k 5k dash forward or gatling to c.S and jump cancel it or mix a GS rc on block to test their reaction to it. oh and tick throws work as well. you have to read the opponent. are they a masher that will push buttons regardless of the pressure? are they afraid of pushing buttons and blocking? do they crack under pressure and let you run over them? do they spam uppercuts while blocking? just figure out what they do and adjust blockstrings based on that.
She's solid to the point where there's no guaranteed answer to her pressure, her damage is super high and every single Elphelt player plays her like a completely different character.
Not really. She really is that good of a character.
>Strong neutral, strong pokes, high combo damage, hard to deal with unblockables, corner shotgun pressure, etc. make her stand out as a character.
Many players are saying that "she wins neutral against many characters", and "even if she loses neutral, she has no problem thanks to the difference in damage".
It's a mixture of both. She does very well in scrambles and converts into super high damage. Her unblockables are quite hard to escape, but not impossible unless she RCs into, which greatly hurts her damage. The thing is, new tech for her is found all the time and no Elphelt players do the same thing so there's no way to know what's coming without having played a long set with the player before. She also gains more meter when holding the grenade/in shotgun stance as it's considered using a special. People expecting her to get nerfed hard are going to be in for a rude awakening. Unless they really nerf her toolset, she's always going to be strong.
Anybody got a EU lobby up? Or just someone EU who wants games?
I just bught this game for PC
what the hell is wrong with the buttons
who are they suppose to sit?
my stick is all fucked up
it seems to be 50-50 on some buttons what i will get when pressing it
like my slash will become dust and my dust will be on P
what in the fuck i can't even fix it in button config
Why Rizeposter so shit? He ruined the whole thread
ANY NA LOBBIES UP OR SHOULD I MAKE ONE?!
Since no one wanted to make a room I did.
this doesn't sound very different from your average "xrd player" on /v/
well she is actually one of the strongest characters in the game and extremely fucking annoying to fight, so the hate is justified, but it's not like she's impossible. also she triggers the edgelord "veteran" players so there is that too.
trying it but I only did it once and it seems harder than 41236987423
with the previous way I can hit people on the ground with it
really pain in the ass since I want do bomb loops without it
I play on pad if that matters
Made a room. Name:
I suck at this game, so forgive my badness.
And here I thought I'd have people to play with for once.
Such is what happens when you buy a game that comes out for PC, and it's also popular on /v/
Chances are if you post here, you have a rig that can run it.
Also fuck it, I'm deciding to host.
Room ID is: hc4y
I suck dick at this game.
>room ends when me and the other Millia are 1 hit from death
I was pretty pissed, because I was in the corner and was sure I was dead. I was fucking up so hard and just did whatever I could to get a hit
I want pictures! Pictures of Elphelt Valentine!
Finally "learned" how to pot buster reliably on a keyboard.
Just mashed half circle back like a madman.
>tfw only person with a mic
>want to shit talk but no one can hear me
Any US lobby up?
I'm not a keyboard player but since I was on my laptop and curious I tried it out.
I felt the trick was pretty much the same as on arcade stick, that is to pay close attention that you hit 4.
With keyboard this just means releasing it before you press 6 again. Wasn't that hard even though this was the first time I've tried keyboard.
Blockstring is like a combo but instead of hitstun it's blockstun they're in. Leaving small gaps in your blockstring that look like an opening are called frame traps, you bait the opponent into attacking in them and then you get them caught in an actual combo. Due to the fear of getting frame trapped they you could pull off a real gap in pressure where there was an actual opening but they were too afraid to attack and thus you gain time to do something completely different like a throw.
Check out airdash academy and/or guilty gear 101 video list on youtube for this kind of fundamental stuff.
They're both attractive, so it comes down to personality, and personally I like energetic Elphelt more
But let's not kid ourselves, me and other people like her because she tries to marry anyone she sees. It's like with monster girls, where people like them mainly because all you have to do for them to love you is just be accepting of monster parts
Fino does show from time to time
Bad luck then. You generally don't get kicked unless it's a really big stream with loads of viewers. Twitch is fine now though, so you can go back to watching it there if you aren't already.
Yes and no
Sometimes you'll get absolute killers from lesser known arcades but generally you won't get more strategies, matchups etc. than in Mikado.
Besides it's all on the net now
S-so i finally won a match online, it made rather happy even though i am still shit at the game.
I did drop Ramlethal for Millia though so that might be why, i mean i really like Ram's design and stuff but i just couldn't find my groove with her, atleast with Millia i feel like i can do some combos.
That's the way to go. Just because you fap to brown delicious girls doesn't mean you have to play them.
What did you think everyone who plays a man did?
All about the gameplay
