Undead Burg is too fucking cramped I can't avoid boss hits I thought you guys hated artificial difficulty
I tried Darks Souls recently, got to Blightown, havent played game since... That shit is just obnoxious a fuck and i do not enjoy playing the game in that location
inb4 git gud
That's rather the point of the place, you might as well complain that the locals in Phobos Station aren't very friendly.
just killed the spider at the bottom of blight
which I one shot, if anyone is curious
the only thing obnoxious in that area
or anything I've played of it so faris the hit box on those fucking wasps / maggots.
blighttown can be bypassed, you only need to kill the boss, everything else in blight doesn't matter.
Hoof it to the bonfire in the sewer(?) tunnel, light it, then hoof it to the boss
The place is confusing as fuck, the fuckin wasp faggots are so hard to hit for unknown reason, those tiny midgets that shoot those poisonous darts or whatevs... Me no like
Really? Well, might try it then, when i get my controller back
The boss isn't easy however, definately recommend a couple of summons
Also yeah the place is really confusing, best advice I can give you is to just keep heading down, eventually you'll come to a wooden structure that has like 5 of those weird fire-breathing things and down the bottom to the right will be the bonfire.
As I said though, easiest way through is to just sprint past everything
How do you people have so much humanity? I just beat smough and ornstein and I walk around human form with 0 humanity, do you just pop every humanity you find? I get it that it increases item find but idk.
>after it makes its entrance, IMMEDIATELY run back towards where you came from and to the left will be a ladder, climb that bitch quickly, then when the Taurus Demon is underneath the ledge, do the falling attack you should've learned from Asylum Demon
>That'll take a large chunk of its health away
>Now you just have to roll, I always rolled towards him (aim for the gap between his legs)
You're going to fucking hate the Drake, I hope you chose the masterkey
>falling attack from Asylum Demon
I saw a webbum of a guy drop 20 feet onto a ledge and die so I just stood on the balcony and then the Asylum Demon smashed it to shit but I didn't fall onto his head
If you take the master key you can literally clear Blighttown in 5 minutes(including boss fight). You only really need to kill the mosqutios as you get down the ladders, then break to the left and look for a tunnel with a bonfire inside. Then you can exit to the right run through all the crap, literally skip every enemy and be at the boss fight in less than a minute. It's probably the shortest dungeon in any Souls game.
You dont have to properly fight it. If you have 50 arrows you can plink it from the top of the stairs and when he takes off to land on the bridge to roast you just run up and hit his head once then sprint back down the stairs.
He flies away and perches on the building again and you can just rinse and repeat.
You get some humanity now and then from killing enemies. And the guy in the pic is a sunbro so he gets humanity from defeating bosses in co-op. And as you get better at the game you'll start getting better at recovering your bloodstain, humanity included, so you won't really lose what you've accumulated.
kek wait until blighttown with all the bullshit edges you can fall off
Catacombs was the worst for me though
>first time playing
>why aren't these skeletons dying?
>have to kill the necromancers
>seething with rage all the way through
All I needed was a divine weapon
Should you level up both STR and DEX or just one or the other?
Anyone know if a bow or crossbow run is viable in DS2? I used one for a bit in the dlc on my first playthrough and it seemed easier to use than in 1. Might go for bows after I finish my sorcerer run if it's not too shit.
i hadn't even noticed the other way down there. I mean I kinda did but I didn't poke around a lot 'cause I wanted to see what was in that giant spike pile lookin' thing.
>advice given by dicks
the charm of "try jumping" still hasn't worn off.
I just installed the game and mods for the first time and killed the demon thingy and got his weapon.
but it says I need like 45str to use. Is it worth leveling that to use the weapon, or should I just dump everything into VIT, STR and DEX
Hang onto it until you can get enough STR to twohand it before you decide on a definitive build
Same thing, but Black Knight weapons are typically good if you got it in Undead Burg its a great weapon to use especially against the Taurus and Capra Demons
Black Knight Sword will get you very far in the game.
Wield it with 2 hands as soon as you have 2/3 of the required STR. It can kill the Taurus Demon in 5 R1 hits, making it completely OP at the start of the game if you get it as a drop.
If you like strength weapons I think 12 or 16 dex is enough to use most strength weapons. I forget the exact number. For dex weapons I believe 24 strength is the highest you'll ever need but that's only for a handful of weapons, like the murakumo, dragonslayer spear and the gravelord sword.
There are better options. The great club does comparable damage, is a lot lighter and require less strength. If you're OK with fatrolling you can use the demon hammer but I'd advise to always be at at least medium roll.
Pls dear /v/, help, I fell for the
Silver Knight Straight Swordmeme, what's a better weapon than this shit for PVE? Side note i've already finished the game with Large Club, shit was piss easy, and with BKS.
>people told me Dark souls was harder than Demon's souls
>get to maneater
strength if you like to play the game on easy mode.
Dex if you want to beat the game with the skill of a patrician.
Or just cuck your shit up and go casual and become a magic man.
Get like 20 strength and 18 dex to try out a larger assortment of weapons maybe. Endurance to wear heavier armor/use heavier weapons and put a few points in vit too. just dont get resistance.
Also keep in mind upgrading your weapons/shield is much more important than leveling up.
Vit and end are always good. Until you get to 40 in both any points invested there aren't wasted. As for dex and str, find out which type of weapon you prefer and then meet the minimum requirements for the weak stat and pump out the main stat. 40 is once again the soft cap but some str weapons require 50 or even more to one hand. It isn't necessarily a good idea to go that high but it's up to you.
Sorcery is really strong and requires both int and attunement. If you want to have it as your main combat style you'll require quite a bit of both. Faith isn't really viable as a main source of damage unless you're using one of the buff spells. I tend to leave it at 30 if I'm doing a faith build. That doesn't make it very powerful but it's enough to benefit you and allows you to use most miracles.
you can cheese everything in DS2 by going bow.
i literally beat freyja by walking in circles shooting arrows at its face, while all it did was spam laser and the spider adds AI is so bad they didnt even try and attack me the whole fight
>The boss isn't easy however
Quelaag? She isn't that hard once you know to stick by her back legs and to run away from her AOE attacks, but I've done runs where she did those once the whole fight
in pvp, most builds will go mid 50s in endurance so that they can have 32 poise, a fast roll and a ring slot open for anything they want
going over 40 endurance is never a waste
vit to 44 - 50
end to 40+
pick one primary damage stat and one secondary damage stat or throw bonus points into att/end
if the secondary stat is...
str = stop at 27
fai = stop at 30
int = stop at 32
dex is usually most useful at 40 or 45 if you want maximum cast speed
