That's my point. Emulation on consoles is bad and limited to select titles. Take mass effect 1 on the xbone vs it on pc in high res and at 60 fps with compromise. Then you have dragon's dogma that is getting released that gives the game justice. That and emulation of the wii, psp and other soon to be emulated systems that make older games look great. Recent titles run at 60 fps and look better too.

Though consoles DO get the most people on them due to being so damn cheap. I wish sony and ms would release high end consoles together because the casuals would be forced to buy them and we'd get better looking games. People buy 700 dollar phones every year so milk it out of them.

I had trouble getting into it at first. I got it in June with a gfx card, but didn't really get far into it until November. Just gotta get a hang of the combat and movement system and really listen to the story and dialogue. I also recommend using the alternative movement system.

Honestly, it's more enjoyable if you use a controller. I feel like I'm in more control than if I use a keyboard and mouse, which is strange but it helped me get into it.

I enjoy the story and lore though, so if you really aren't into those you may not get the bug.

It's one of the best looking games out there IMO. I can't think of any open world game who looks this good, has a combat system which is at least decent and fun and has a compelling story with RPG elements. Sure interactions with lots of NPCs are limited, but it's sweet seeing them actually do stuff, go to eat, sleep and such in a realistic way, unlike Skyrim or AC Unity presented it.
It also has an awesome long, detailed, salty, uncut and hard DLC and NG+ options.
The only RPG this good in the last 4 years was Bloodborne, which could be described with half the stuff I already said, and it's a console exclusive.
So if you have a PS4 AND a PC, play both and have fun.

What PC? TW3 is one of the worst optimized games I've ever played. Saint's Row 2 tier optimization.
My TW3 had graphics like PS1 game, resolution less than 800x600, ini tweaks and still runs with less than 30 FPS.

I know this has nothing to do with this circle jerk of thread but I can really see TW3 being Fable 3 for me. Combat systems are similar, both are semi open world, both have charming worlds, the magic system is also similar, the rpg aspects are similarly limited compared to other games, event the movement feels similar, sidequests are cool and much more. I'm not saying that as an insult Fable and The Witcher rpg's are the only modern WRPG worth any shit.

Better, actually, now that a huge lighting-fixing mod has came out
and the fps hit is next to zero

With a decent GPU (3+gb of vram, modern) you can add in a mod that vastly increases the LOD and the end result is 90% of the pre-downgrade, pretty much. There was really no huge downgrade, it's just that for some reason CDPR choose a nauseating color palette.

Pretty much only graphical gripes with the game:

>nvidia effects kill your frames
>some indoor scenes still appear a little flat
