I don't care so much about the ranks (everyone is deranking right now), but every single game I play I get matched up against smurfs with <100 hours and either win 16-0 or lose 0-16. It's absolutely horrible and I don't enjoy the game at all.

I've bounced around from Nova 1 to Nova 4 but never managed to make it out of that. Right now I'm nova 3. I wanna derank to silver really bad though I want to see what it's like down there when I started playing I was with a bunch of friends who were nova 4 and mgs and stuff so I got stuck in the nova rank immediately and never got to see it.

I played this game for over a year. I was stuck in silver one for like 4 months, then I got better and quickly became a Nova 2. I started really putting effort into it, I got better, I got good friends who can communicate on steam, watch competitive gaming to get to know strategies despite I find it fucking ridicolous...and when I finally get 2aks I derank to nova 4, then to nova 2 with 20 wins and 5 losses in a week.

Fuck man I was LE before the fucking patch. Even when I dropped down to MGE which was already bad enough I won like 10 games in a ron, my whole recent history was wins. Then I lost two in a row and got down ranked. What the actual fuck is wrong with this game now.

I live in a third world country, at least internet wise (Italy). I have copper and I get 96 stable ping only after 1 am. I always loved multiplayer games, so I organized my life in order to play with my friends regardless of how it's hard with the little time I have to sleep.
I got 3 deranks in 4 days with 10 wins and 3 losses. I am seriously tired of this shit.

It should if the distribution is way off the bell curve. Valve also said that the tanking system will now automatically correct all the anomalies in the bell curve. The system needs some time to even out. After that it shouldn't happen anymore and all returns to normal.

The visible rank doesn't matter, the invisible Elo rank does. That didn't change during the patch, they just changed what Elo values are assigned to which rank. When you dropped ranks, the game isn't suggesting you got worse, it's just changing what the ranks are called.

Yeah, being stuck with bad teammates is frustrating, but that affects everyone at every rank. The only way around that is to play with friends and stop soloqueueing.

Maybe because a big flashy RANK UP animation is more exciting than watching a number crawl up or down. I don't know. Some games that use an Elo ranking system do show the number, I think that's how Dota 2 works, Valve just chose not to with CSGO.

Good point. There are ton of people who would like to see their ELO. There isn't really a good reason why you wouldn't show it, I think. Maybe it would make it easier to see what type of gameplay affects the rating you get and that would be bad. People would find ways to abuse it.

But really, why care about rank? Your personal skill level is what matter. If you are good, you are good. You don't need ELO rating or a rank to show it.

I went from LE to DMG, stop crying if you are upset about losing your rank. You don't deserve to rank up if you would rather bitch on an image board instead of getting better at the game. ESEA is where it's at anyway, you get surprise bitcoins and run into less retards.

Also tip for people struggling who feel like they are getting worse at the game: Unbind your scoreboard, play the game one round at a time. Kills aren't everything, there is this mentality that kills are everything, they aren't. When you're any rank and aren't playing well don't let the scoreboard faze you, it will only make you tilt. Unbinding my scoreboard helped me get out of the MGs into LE.

I care about ranks because at this point I won't be able to enjoy the game if my teammates at least don't know the map, basic ak\p90\m4 spray and are below 14 years old.
The lower I go in ranks, the more 8 years old shouting "GIBE BOMB CYKA" I meet, and usually they play in flashy "XD MLG CLAN"s, so I get a full team of those.
The more I go up with ranks, the less of these motherfuckers I meet and the more I can enjoy the game.
Also, on lower ranks there are a lot of fucking hackers and smurfs, especially on Nova.
That's why I wanted to stay ak2 instead of deranking.

I can play from around 2am to 4 am. How many people, even real life friends, have the same possibility? I cannot play in the afternoon, when internet traffic is high, because I'd get 200+ ping. I cannot play in the morning because I'm not a betafuck and I have work to do.

Besides, the game doesn't come with the "you are obliged to socialize with other players" alert sign, in fact someone could consider gaming something to get away from people from time to time.
