Because "it's not retro REEEEEEEEEEEEE", I'll ask here.

Should I install the latest dev or stable build of pic related?
>>
...
>>
>>322863261
Dev build from buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/
Unless the emulator is as meticulously maintained as Dolphin, stable builds are just outdated and meaningless.
>>
I usually just download the newest one from emucr
>>
>>322863471
thanks

Second question,
Is there only 32bit versions of the dev builds? Is that alright if I'm running 64 bit OS?
>>
>>322863261
wat do you think? ill tell you now all the new versions need windows 10 to work
>>
>>322863653
Uh, I think you're full of shit.
>>
>>322863703
no im not you will get the dreadful missing msvcp140.dll file and to get it you need windows 10
>>
>>322863595
it would be better if you ran it on 32 bit system but it doesn't matter that much. Just keep in mind that to get good performance you need at least a gtx970 and a decent cpu that does like the i5-3570k
>>
>>322863595
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: PCSX2 dates from back before 64-bit was common. Because of the difference between how 32-bit and 64-bit work for some fundamental things, and the low level emulators like this tend to operate, they need to actually work on getting it to run under a 64-bit system first before it can be compiled that way. However, the 32-bit version will run fine on a 64-bit Windows.
>>
>>322864065
*4.0ghz

>>
>>322863843
Why would they do this?

Am I stuck with the latest stable build from 2014?

>>322864065
Do you think the follow specs could run most games flawlessly and record?

W7 64-bit OS
Intel i5-4570 X4 3.2GHz CPU
AMD 7950 3GB GPU
12GB Mixed RAM
750W Corsair PSU
240GB Mushkin SSD
>>

>>
>>322864065
>you need at least a gtx970 and a decent cpu that does like the i5-3570k
ignore this retard.

>>322864197
amd is pretty shit for emulation but yeah you'll be able to run most games.

for pcsx2 use the latest dev build and use opengl hardware for really good performance, use dx or ogl software mode for games that need it or if you just want shitty graphics. your cpu is good enough for everything practically.

enable MTVU if you're lagging in games.

I finished tons of games, including MGS3, with a holy fuck I can't even remember its name it's been so long. 955 BE made by AMD? And a 5870 made by ATI.

MGS3 is the hardest game to run on the emulator if I'm not mistaken and that was an ancient AMD PC.

That's a GSDX screenshot, so the aspect doesn't match up with whatever's actually displayed. The monitor is 16:9 at 4K, which is why the internal res was set that way.

>>
>>322865608
Because it's infinitely more stable and you won't run into problems like that.

Always give a new iteration of windows at least a full year before adopting it. I dunno why retards always jump on it as soon as it's new.
>>
>>322866771
Some people jump on it because they want to try it out and don't give a fuck if they have to reformat. The chucklefucks who don't want to do their own research or read come along, ask if it's okay, and install it because the guys trying it said "yeah, sure," only to complain later because they didn't look shit up on their own.

Same shit happens with console modding and people bricking their consoles. They skip like five steps because they're not actually paying attention and then wonder what the fuck happened.
>>

>I dunno why retards always jump on it as soon as it's new.

I personally don't use it because every version of windows to come out since 95 has had glaring security flaws on release that don't get patched until Service Pack 1, typically.

>>322868087
How do you censor combat? But like I said the frame rate is uncapped on PC, the remix can't compete.
>>
>>322868167
>the remix can't compete
With one thing it can, Remix fixed the camera in KH1 so it's bound to the right analog stick
>>
>>322868257
you can rebind that in the emulator.
>>
>>322868302
Binding R1 and L1 to the stick is not the same as full analog control
>>
>>322866024
Oh, yeah. The main problem is that using "just" 4K with some games looks visibly smudged, probably because they don't render at the PS2's native resolution to begin with. So then the only option is to turn the resolution up even more to compensate. Or a game will have lots of artefacts everywhere from the texture filtering or just from being blown up so much, and then the best cure has always been to blow them up even more to smooth them out.
You'll be surprised at how good PS2 games look in 4k if you ever get to see them running on a proper monitor.

I bought it, actually. But that doesn't suddenly put the music in the game. I suppose if someone were to patch it into the PS2 iso it'd make it the best version of the game.

I will correct myself though. Apparently the 60FPS patch only causes issues in KH2 at select parts, whereas KH1 has no such issues from what I can tell. So I suppose if one values framerate more they can go with that.

If you like racing games, Tokyo Xtreme Racer series is really fun (though I didn't care much for drift). Has a unique life bar style system, kinda arcadeish, cars have full customization, bunch of interesting tidbits in it. The games are extremely long though, I played the 3rd one for about a week straight and still didn't get near the end. And there is the occasional bug and graphical glitches, but they're worth overlooking.
