>Fighters are usually the Swordsman class in RPGs and not the Melee
>Monks are the true "fighting" class
>Monks in real life advocate non-violence in their practices
Yes they do
They are the ones attacking you, they are the ones trying to kill you
Monks by their honor would fight to protect their friends and party against anyone who attacks them.
Yes, because they promote the art of self-defense.
Most RPG classes are designed to be killing machines, going through thousands of mobs to obtain that precious exp. They will even killing human "thief" mobs if necessary and without a second thought. So it's hard to envision a Monk to sign off to this, even if he simply was a travel buddy.
Simple, monk is actually just short for monkey
>Enemies attack you, you don't attack them
What about those times where you're massively overleveled than the monsters in a certain area, to the point where they start to run away from you since you're too strong for them yet you still give chase in order to kill them- just because.
What about then?
>not wanting a party member who can deal thousands of damage with just his bare fists
Fighter class was made for casuals. He's perfectly capable on his own, but people mistakenly believe that he's the best character class in 1.
>tfw there are like 4 remakes of FF1 and not one of them has updated the gameplay in any way
