Yeah, the current version makes pretty much every game playable. Out of 2500+ games, 95% runs more or less perfectly on emulation now. So only a complete shitter computer would ruin it.

Might need some tweaking to stop graphical glitching or so, but googling that will always lead you to the same issues others have had before you, and how to tweak for fix.

Yeah, I saw it in the store and just had to get it. I love pictures with any kind of texture.
The big problem is that it plays more like "One Small Favor" than a comfy harvest moon game. You can shift the day forward at any time to let crops grow, cheese/wine mature, and animals grow. In order to get things you have to give them, like 2 chunks of marmot meat for 3 cabbage seeds, and eventually work your way to the end of the chain.

Also it's really not the same thing, but there are a lot of survival games these days that do the fixing up and expanding your place while living off the land part. If they put some town with people, maybe wife prospects, into The Forest or Subnautica they would be rad.

There's an upcoming MMO called Peria Chronicles that I hope will end up being good. It's supposed to be an open world game full of player created cities and dungeons alongside pokemon combat. Many of these survival games primarily focus on multiplayer, which isn't inherently bad but they're certainly not relaxing. In fact, there's this dinosaur like game on Steam I believe that behaves just like those phone games. You need to constantly check on your base, least it gets ravaged by someone else. Too much stress.

Yeah, my little brother plays that one and it does not seem comfy at all. When he plays with his friends they go nonstop for 3 or 4 days at a time. It takes so much time and resources that a single person would never be able to make progress.

FoMT is such a clusterfuck of mechanics and the map layout is godawful.

64's friendship/recepie system was fun but not overbearing. In FoMT you've got to spam gifts at everyone to get your farm working halfway decent, suck the carpenters magnum dong, train the sprites, and the rucksack upgrading was the worst.

Combined with the translation somehow managing to be worse than 64 and I just don't get it. If only the first DS game hadn't been so buggy. It generally fixed a lot of FoMT problems I had.

Besides, these games aren't complex enough for months of discussion for long time players, and there's too few new players who bother asking question or talking, so it just boils down to characters and subjective opinions.
