>>322842342 Toward the end of the GameCube era, Nintendo lost confidence in their own fans. Nintendo was losing market share with each new console launched.
Pride turned to arrogance. Ugly arrogance. Nintendo started to develop contempt for the gaming community. They felt as if they were being betrayed by the gamers they created. The marketing teams started to look at gamer focused strategies with ire and spite. says Mercury. The hardcore Nintendo audience was equally cast aside. Why bother? Theyre going to buy anything we put out anyway.
>>322843462 I don't even play these newer games because I don't have any interest in them, I just think it's ridiculous how people feel like they need to preach about how Nintendo ''betrayed'' them when it's all part of a business, and Nintendo happened to be very good at that business.
>>322844518 Are you suggesting they resort to outdated commercial strategies 30 years after the NES was a smash hit? It was lightining in a bottle and nothing can replicate that era, and you shouldn't try to.
>>322842841 >I can't believe people actually think 30 fps is better because it's more "cinematic" I don't think anyone actually thinks that. That said. I actually do prefer 30fps and a higher resolution and graphical than 60fps and a lower resolution and graphical detail.
The absolute worst is when developers try to have both though, ending in inconsistent frame rates. That's the absolute worst. But I have no problem whatsoever with 30fps. So for as long as it's stable, I'd rather settle for 30fps and improve everything else instead.
>>322846732 >awww boo-hoo he talked shit about my precious Ninty character Iwata baaaaaaaaaw
Look at what the man has done:
>nearly all major Nintendo IPs were heavily casualized under his rule >nearly all major franchises were transformed into childish drivel or otaku pandering under his rule, including the handful of IPs that would suffer from such changes, such as Metroid and Zelda. >he repeated the Wii appeal with the Wii U when the casual target audience had clearly abandoned them midway through the Wii's life cycle, despite the fact that 360 and PS3 were finally catching up on steam and popularity in return >did not prepare Nintendo's dev teams into HD development, instead shoveled out another console with horrendously shitty hardware and pheripherals that made it difficult for third parties to port their games >shoveled out a plethora of 2D platformers because they're easier to develop >did nothing to accelerate Nintendo to accept heavily requested standards that are used in gaming now, such as competent online. But they jumped real fucking fast on the DLC bandwagon this gen, didn't they? >sacrificed devoted fans for temporary blue-ocean casual audience >NOA has become complete dog shit under his reign; they have no real initiative of their own now >hired a bunch of yes men like Reggie and old fart board members to eat his shit up >opted for the easy route of short-term profits rather than the harder route of long-term success, now Nintendo is worse than ever because of it.
The only things the man did right were programming and Nintendo directs. It's better that he's done now.

Because sorry to tell you, but the most next gen games in terms of scope and gameplay on ps4 (gtav and mgsv) both have ps3 ports, meaning that interactivity, gameplay, physics, etc is almost free and dont tax the console too much.
So if you have to lower the framerate from 60 to 30 is most probably due graphics alone as single reason, and not another factors.
