Blood Money I played a bit and it was good and I thought Absolution was fun. Am I missing much by skipping 1 or 2? I tried 1 ages ago and it definitely has aged.

Is Contracts the one with the meat shop/butcher level? If so, then I'm starting with that.

2, then Contracts, then Blood Money.

Blood Money is the most widely praised one but I prefer 2 and Contracts. Blood Money's cool to fuck around in but 2 and Contracts feel more refined.

Chronologically is probably the best way.
You probably don't need to finish 1, but it's good if you do. Some stuff from 1 is referenced in later games

also controls and mechanics are a little rough, but you can give it a try. a lot of hitman 1's levels are redone in contracts so you might as well just play that

Codename 47 is only hampered by the fact they hadn't perfected their formula yet.
It can be a bit shootery.
As far as graphics go they look fine, and it even has something other games don't have, bullet holes in your flesh when you're shot.

I just remember the tutorial and first level feeling really slow. I'll start with 2 and work my way from there. If I really enjoy Contracts and beating the series, I'll give Codename 47 another try.
