The problem is Nintendo feels TTYD was the best they could ever do. So instead of just trying to do better they just kept trying to do something new. Like Super and Sticker.

They were creating it, they asked what he thought. He pretty much stated "Does it really need a major story?" so they took out the story, and just made it a standard "Bowser kidnaps the Princess" and that's it story.

Sticker Star was originally a good game, then Miyamoto came in, said it was too similar to TTYD and had almost everything scrapped. Keep in mind this was the IS B-Team because the A-Team was busy eith Ire Emblem.

By making it Paper Zelda instead. That way you can make a game very similar to the old Paper Mario games, but still get a fresh take on it where the combat action commands are not identical.

Make the story of it something like "The voice of monsters" where you will be able to talk with the likes of octorocks, dodongos, and moblins. that way you can separate the good guys from the bad among those ranks and get charming partners from previous games 'enemy' ranks without it seeming too forced.

Zelda's puzzle-focused nature already lends itself well to the Paper Mario structure, and you've already got a framework there to expand lorewise.

It would also be interesting to see some conflict between Link and Zelda if Link befriended 'enemy' troops.

Just my thoughts.

Remaking the very first game, blending the battle mechanic of Mario&Luigi, and naming it Paper Mario & Luigi

Luigi is now a 2nd playable character for battle, and the partners are a 3rd character with health like in TTYD. The game takes place after the first game. The new villain takes over Toad Town and the castle, blows away Mario and Luigi to a completely new continent. As they journey the new continent, they'll collect the 7 magical ______, and find out how to get back to Toad Town/castle.

Kinda always been interested in the monster races of Zelda. Lots of the games imply that they arent really pure evil, they just work with Ganondorf and the other bad guys because they acknowledge him as their leader, are created via magic, or are just animals defending their territory

I always had a thought about paper pokemon. Just select a few popular pokemon to be partners, and let them use their abilities to go through the game. If the mc isn't pikachu, the trainer could use items in a support role?
