FUCKING WHY. I HATE NORMALFAG CASUAL FILTH SO MUCH RIGHT NOW FOR PRAISING AN AVERAGE GAME LIKE TLOU. FUCK YOU REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>highlights bond between father and son
>not hot bitches
Reminder that he killed, robbed and raped people before he ended up in Boston.
>Game in development for almost a decade
>Gets inspiration from a 2-3 year old game
He's not praising it, just using it as an example of mixing story and gameplay together. The demo already does this anyway, with the guys talking amongst each other and having to plan ahead to fight the Behemoth. Of course, nobody here will read this except the two anons I quoted so feel free to freak out over
It was already compared to RDR too and nobody complained about that.
>an example of mixing story and gameplay together.
didn't they do an absolute shit job of that though? I can think of a hundred games that actually did it well and were notable for it, but TLOU will not be on that list.
I think dad games are great.
Nier as a dad who was hardly ever around but then becomes totally fanatical about saving Yonah was cool. Sazh was a cool character too, Chronobind was far and away the best part of 13-2 and his Chocobocolina is the best new character.
>NORMALFAG CASUAL FILTH
These are the only people who give a shit about Final Fantasy 15 you dipshit. It's a dumbed down open world piece of shit aiming to appeal to the widest audience possible. Go away moron.
Killing and robbing yeah, but you don't have to rape to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Hell, considering the zombie virus is spread by mold in that universe, raping sounds like something that could potentially give you a zombie STD or something.
You do know Ivalice wasn't originally intended to be a part of FFXII and was only shoehorned in for marketing purposes?
If there's one thing Matsuno doesn't do, it's reuse fantasy worlds.
>he thinks 90s Squaresoft JRPGs weren't casualized and aimed at a mainstream audience
>you would have too
stop being an edge lord. There would be plenty of food , resources and uninhabited areas if 60% of the population died. You wouldn't have to turn into a fucking degenerate to get by
>we want our game to be a movie, because gamers don't want gameplay or fights or bosses. They're too "video gamey"
WELP. It was a fun ride. Time to abandon ship.
>the last of us was 95% gameplay.
>decent narrative hooks.
>good variety in areas
This worries me most of all, if you're going to say that your vaporware was inspired by a game, don't say such a recent fucking game that makes me think you literally have no clue what you're doing.
>decent narrative hooks.
>good variety in areas
FUCKING WHY. I HATE PATHETIC WEEABOOFAG FILTH SO MUCH RIGHT NOW FOR PRAISING A CASUAL SERIES LIKE FF. FUCK YOU REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>highlights anime porn for nerds
>not the gameplay, story, scenery, etc
Ya see? Others can act one-sidingly overreactive from other angles too.
Stop being a faggot.
>car is a metaphor for human connections
Fuck you guys, TLoU was great. I can hardly think of a game with a more compelling narrative. Glad to see FFXV taking notes from it.
>people are still interested in this game
>despite the gameplay being literal HOLD X TO AWESOME horseshit
That demo was the single most cancerous thing I've ever "played." It took a year off my life.
You know, this game is so close to release, but now I don't think I want it anymore
I feel the focus of everything has changed too much over the last 10 years. The story is either going to be a mess or the game in it's entirety will feel incomplete.
Square has ALWAYS been obsessed with making Final Fantasy an "interactive movie." Did you forget the shitty Final Fantasy theatrical movie from the 90s? The only reason this wasn't as apparent during the SNES was because of technological limitations, though remember that Final Fantasy 6 was a huge cartridge for its time.
Oh god why'd he have to bring up TLOU. We'll never hear the end of it.
It's fucking ridiculous. Nier, Persona, Undertale, these games are all character driven, story emphasized games that are largely mediocre but loved for the strong points that shine through and attract the fanbase. I guess the difference is that 2/3 are Japanese, which gets a free pass to be shit as long as it does like one thing semi-well, and the other is Indie pixel shit that didn't have a budget so it's safe to like since it didn't come from an evil corporation.
TLOU did a lot of things really mediocre, and a handful of things very right. But because it received tons of praise, was made by white guys, had a budget, and is a Sony exclusive, it gets torn to shreds whereas niche shit like Persona and Nier get away with being garbage on more fronts than TLOU. Shit I love Nier, I enjoy Persona, and I really enjoyed TLOU, especially the multiplayer. But for some reason TLOU triggers everyone when other, shittier games don't.
I doubt any of its many detractors, even in this thread, actually bothered to just sit down and play it. Or they played it with the preconcieved notion that it's shit thanks to /v/. I just saw a friend playing it, liked what I saw, got a used PS3, and enjoyed me some Mcarthy/Cohen bros style ripoff storytelling with brutal melee combat and some fun resource starvation on Survivor mode, not to mention the multiplayer.
But we CAN'T talk about that here, no sir. I don't even think it has a fucking general on /vg/, even though Factions is the shit and is still pretty active to this day on PS4.
Shhh, anon, shhhh. You won't quiet the butthurt over TLOU stealing the spotlight from whatever weeb shit they're mad about not having the spotlight.
TLOU is overrated as Hell, but it did deserve a lot of the praise it got. It just went a little overboard. But that's enough to cement it as shit in these people's minds already, and you can't un-mix cement.
I never played The Last of Us but considering today's Square and last decade Final Fantasy games, it's pretty much safe to say that Naughty Dog game has good chances to be better than FF15
