Yeah.
I stopped pülaying after III but Ezio also had pretty good character development. Going from simple revenge plot to understanding and ultimatly fighting the underlying causes.
All that while still beeing a fairly relatable guy, unlike Altair who is much more of a ascetic monk.

Well Altiar was born into the creed and was expected to be an Assassin, while the others weren't. But they all were trained in some indirect way to have the qualifications to be an Assassin. In 2 it was implied that Ezio would climb buildings with his brother and he fought with all those other rowdy rich boys so that helped him in hand-to-hand combat. And he had a little sword training with his uncle and learned the stealthy stuff from that prostitute chick. Connor would hunt animals with his friend from his tribe so he learned how to be stealthy and set traps. And Edward was literally a fucking pirate.
