I would say you have bad taste, but the 3DS REALLY has a meager selection.

I just got a 2DS the other day. At Target, it's $115 as opposed to the 3DS being $199. Same shitty system, just slightly more compact, doesn't flip, and doesn't have the 3d feature that makes it feel like malignant tumors are growing in your brain.

I already find it worthwhile just after playing the following games:

Varies from game to game and from person to person. Some find it unbearable. Some games MAKE it unbearable. Personally, I found it so easy to adjust to it that I barely ever notice when it's on or off. I like to keep it on for the extra resolution, it really makes a difference.

The 3D effect is probably the most noticeable in Kid Icarus, but that's also the only game that gives me headaches. Others like Smash and MH4 are much more tame.

I say it's worth it. Chapters 1-4 are awesome, the next few chapters are kinda meh (but pass VERY quickly), then the last few chapters are pretty cool.

Final boss is pretty good, too. Great music, too.

I'm not a hipster for disliking Monster Hunter. The games have almost no music playing when out in the field, have no proper lock-on mechanic making attacking in the right direction in itself difficult, which in turn harms combat, and the combat itself is slow. Plus there's almost no storyline whatsoever and you spend a lot of time chasing enemies through area after area slowly doing damage. I get that a lot of the fun comes from the whole hunting aspect and properly using your items and strategizing enemy routes/learning how they act, but that's not enough to hold me, and most weapons are too slow for my tastes. I want fast and fluid movement like a Kingdom Hearts game or something in my ARPGs.
