Just keep in mind, and really hammer it in your head, that RE4 was a huge overhaul for the whole series. It literally marked the major paradigm shift for RESI games, changing the style from 3rd person survival-horror, into horror-themed shoulder-shooters.

REmake perfectly packs everything that made the old RESIs great, and polished it to mirror sheen perfection. Don't think it as an action game, it is not a zombie-shooter. Instead, it's literally an adventure game, a one huge puzzle, with undead monsters and limited supplies to deal with them.
There will be static camera-angles, tank-controls, limited inventory, and cryptic puzzles.

I would have bought it during the sale if Capcom weren't such huge fucking jews

Also yes, they're both worth it. REmake is the best game in the series maybe after or equal to RE2. Some people think Zero is pretty shit due to the no item box (you can drop items) and AI, but it's not bad.

Yes you should but don't expect it to hold your hand. It's pretty punishing and takes a while to get used too.

Also use the classic control scheme, the new one might seem easier at first but it lends much less precision during actual movement.
