>They keep making modern fps games
>They keep making future fps games
can developers stop making jetpacks and laser beam fps games now?
To be fair they spent the previous 10 years making WW2 fps games constantly
I wouldnt mind some fresh ideas like WW1, battle for the pacific with America vs Japan, or maybe the Korean war
Hell, we don't have to play as fucking Americans in every game. For once can someone make a game that lets you play in a war America wasn't in
The only reason WW2 fps is boring as shit is because they have to adhere to "muh realism". I wouldn't mind if it was given a steampunk treatment with exaggerated cuhraaayzee tech.
Tell me 3 good ones where the online isn't dead or the gameplay archaic. Nazi WWII is always fun
I'm still waiting for my japanese high school fps where I can shoot a semi-auto sniper rifle thats twice the size of the cute girl that i'm playing as.
Chinese gang wars in the future might be cool too.
Alright /v/ post your next setting for generic FPS No' 5396
>You're a group of US militiamen in the modern age fighting against a US government who went cartoonishly evil and corrupt
>Through the power of teamwork, plot armor and Remmington 870's You and your rag tag band of freedom lovers take down a government armed to the teeth with the most technologically advanced military hardware on the planet.
Bullshit, WW2 shooters like the Red Orchestra games are the ones that try to adhere to realism the likes of CoD and MoH wish they were ever as realistic.
Red orchestra 2. Don't play that single player though the game's AI is the absolute worst thing about it. Multiplayer's gucci though.
>musket era CoD
>stand in rank and file
>fire musket when captain says so
>twenty seconds to reload
>get to a cannon emplacement
>2 mins to reload
>get to a gatling emplacement
>need another guy or two for smooth operation
yeah, no. gotta appeal to those uncooperative ADD kids
Since it's somewhat related, I might as well ask here.
Do BF4 and Hardline have the same problem BF3 had where the game did everything in its power to obscure your vision with all sorts of bullshit at all times? Or are the visual effects and smoke and shit actually reasonable like BC2?
Does anyone still play this game on PC?
Are there ANY current Vietnam games?
Jesus christ, it is PERFECT. A hard, hellish war. A frightening, traumatic setting. Iconic weapons, iconic look, iconic vehicles.
Why isn't this setting utilized more in games? The only thing I'm excited about is Rising Storm 2, and who the fuck knows when that'll release.
>mfw America's sore ass keeps me from getting games set in a interesting, tragic war
>mfw I have to endure modern, near-future, and future bullshit for YEARS to come
I'd literally rather have World War 2 again.
>Cold War Era
We need more games with the plot of an escalating cold war into a hot one like in World in Conflict or Operation Flashpoint
I take it you're looking forwards to the next PTSD Simulator?
