I just learned that Jet Set Radio is on Steam.
How is it?
A skating game where you graffiti up other gang's shit. It's good, but it's obviously an older game, so it takes a bit to get used to the controls.
Sounds kinda neat, I only know about it because of Sega All Stars Racing.
What was Space Channel 5? That's what Ulala is from right?
Any other good Dreamcast games that are overlooked because they're from the fucking Dreamcast?
I have a completely unrelated question for some anons out there
Does anyone have the original soundtrack for Jet Set Radio in FLAC format? I have JSRF's in FLAC but I can't find anything on the original.
It doesn't have any issues besides being locked at 30 fps, which is kind of forgivable for how old of a game it is. It even has slightly improved textures I think. Has built in AA, supports any resolution, and you can actually control the camera with a second analog stick. Wish they'd give JSRF the same treatment.
Cube is CUTE!
This game makes me sad that new games are so fucking formulaic now, where developers care more about solely making money, instead of being daring enough to make novel games, like Sega did with this, Shenmue (at the time was very unique), and Seaman. I guess that's a big reason why they went under, and it's goddamn unfortunate.
Fucking Nintendo even copied the JS series when they made Splatoon...
>Fucking Nintendo even copied the JS series when they made Splatoon...
no one but SEGA is allowed to be 90s? guess that's why there are no risky games anymore, they are all owned by someone else
Space channel 5 is a rhythm game where it's basically simon says with 6 buttons. It's more story driven then most rhythm games and it does it really well. It's short sweet and incredibly hype. Space Michael Jackson.
Space Channel 5 part two is better then the first. You don't need to play the first to get the story and I'm pretty sure only part 2 is on steam. It's really good I suggest you try it if you don't hate rhythm games.
Games pretty fun but can feel pretty clunky. It also deleted my save file like 5 fucking times when I was trying to finish it so I ended up marathoning it one day, of course my file is just fine now.
Music is god tier.
I think it was a typo somewhere in the files. There's instructions on PCGamingWiki on how to fix it with hex editing if you get the issue. It's not deleting your save I'm pretty sure, it's just not loading it because of the typo. All your saves are still probably there.
JSRF has much better gameplay (smoother) though its soundtrack is just ok.
JSR is like... you either do your combos perfect or you'll mess up the whole thing. It's incredibly unforgiving due to camera angles/etc
I'm currently getting Jet ranking on all levels and I'm on keyboard. Git Gud.
Fuck the Jet ranking on Grind Square, if you don't end with all perfect graffiti combos and no life lost you won't get a Jet.
The site was never well taken care of, maybe it's just the server shitting itself
So when's the next JetSetRadio? wasn't there one pitched for the wii at one point?
yep. Cube is the best.
First time in a while I see some Piranha stuff I hadn't seen before. Usually she gets jackshit.
a lot of the other characters get nothing as well, it's a damn shame
Soundtrack is killer as fuck but the gameplay is a little bit trash. If Future had been ported I would say "hell yeah!" But honestly you should just listen to the soundtrack and save your money
no, it doesnt even have body swapping with obama in it, how could it be air without obama?
I bought an Xbox and Future after having wanted to play it for forever and honestly I'm not impressed. Maybe it's because I'm playing it on a console but while it's not bad it's not so much better than JSR like people seem to claim. And while JSRF is capped at 60 fps rather than 30 fps, there's quite a bit of times where it's lower than 30 fps.
JSR vs. JSRF really divides opinions, despite the similarities they're actually really different beasts. Personally, I have a hard time deciding which is the "better" game, I like both about equally
JSR isn't a semi-automatic casual bs like Future
It also has a time limit and cops chasing you which makes it challenging and fun...instead of being a boring collectathon with semi-scripted grinding like Future
>I just learned that Jet Set Radio is on Steam and I'm about to find out I only loved it because I was a fucking kid
