I picked it up on the PS4 for $10 and it's just god awful, I don't get the praise.

It's a seriously shitty game so don't waste your time.

The whole Nemesis System relies on you somehow being bad at an Assassin's Creed style game so you won't ever deal with enemies ranking up unless you die on purpose. And then they get stupid broken where they only have one weakness.

Only time game is hard is when a warchief has some stupid immunity. I had fun with it, don't expect much. 5/6 out of 10. Short as fucl if you don't waste time fucking around with the nemesis system. The story is awful and the final boss is literally a QTE. I didn't even bother with bright lord dlc.

If you already have it and you didn't pay too much for it(it's been cheap for fucking ever, even before GOTY version released,) don't feel too bad. You'll still have some fun with it, in all likelihood.

The game plays well, and it has a lot of good ideas. It's just pretty short and there's not really a lot else to do outside of the short story(dlc stuff, but that's basically more of the same.)

Mordor isn't shitty per-se. It's just Wasted Potential: The Videogame.

Having actually paid attention to steam downloads, most games on Steam are compressed when you download them, whereas most pirate releases aren't compressed, so a Steam version is downloading maybe 35gb or so compared to 50gb for the pirate release + 50gb to store the ISO.

Devs who do this don't deserve your money. Shadow of Mordor isn't that good anyway. It's poor man's Batman and Assasin's Creed clone in terms of gameplay. The writing, characters, voice acting and that kind of stuff is just cringeworthy.

I am glad that steam takes that hard work of deleting a file right away because I would very likely end up "storing" it for reasons.

Picked this up the other day for $9 and finished it last night. OK game but I'm glad it was only ~13 hours long because it was getting very repetitive.

Surprisingly, the size of it isn't massively inflated by fmv and audio. Of my 42gig installed, only 8gb if video and 3.5gb is audio (which is mostly because they include 7 languages).

It was a fairly competent dude killing simulator. You were able to kill dudes in different ways. The nemesis system sometimes meant you had to kill a dude differently. It was pretty good for what it was.

Honestly, I think the attempt at the nemesis system is a great thing. It was a test run. Hopefully, developers learn from this run, and make it better and expand upon it. A system where the actions of the player make real, lasting changes to the game world outside of scripted events.
