ITT: Games you bought without first reasearching
What the fuck was I thinking?
I couldnt even get to the first boss, shit is insanely stupid.
Its a cute game, but filled with this kinda shit later on. its really cringey.
The second one is MUCH better, and more subtle with its references, I'm really enjoying it.
It's got a great, comfy atmosphere, but basically everything else sucks. Bad framerate (on ps4 at least) shitty combat, story is ok, kinda cute.
But the platforming. There is no jump button in this game. You walk towards something that the game allows you to platform, and it jumps for you. The most platforming you'll do is jump from a pegs sticking out of water, and once you're on a peg, you point your thumb stick at the next peg. That's fucking it.
Honestly, if this game had actual platforming I'd think it wasn't half bad, but that really killed it for me.
20+ hours beyond the first, and a real story. Its also more varried with its references, Metal gear, Layton, Castlevania, Breath of fire, etc. Its not all generic nintendo/final fantasy like the first.
I didnt mind it, but the useage of Phoenix down, the Chobokos, and the Zephyros/Sephiroth parodies were way too much, they needed to be dialed back, the game basically became FF7 at the end, no variations or tweaks.
They managed to take a contemporary take on Pandora's Box and make it boring. Articulating why a game is so fucking boring is more work then it seems, since games themselves take hours to get to that point.
It's that you spend the game firing the same shitty guns at the same shitty enemies in environments right at home in any modern FPS. The novelty of the mythological creates - when you're not just fighting generic soldier mooks - falls through fast.
And then I fell through the endgame elevator and couldn't complete the damn game anyway.
I saw it at GameStop for $1.50 and I said to myself, "It can't be THAT bad."
I mean it wasn't TERRIBLE, but not worth a £30 preorder after seeing one trailer.
Oh man, this shit was shilled so hard. Pretty sure they spent all the budget on shitposting Brink threads on /v/ all day rather than actual devtime. Brink fags got BTFO hard and fast
It's not bad gameplay wise, it's bad content wise.
>"Story mode" is just MP against bots with some cinematics in the same places at the end of a mission
>Game launched terribly, not being playable on half of peoples computers if they used an AMD gpu
>Not enough variety in gametypes
The movement was great and the guns were cool, the customization was great but the game suffered too greatly during its start to recover in time.
Also maps were pretty unbalanced, generally favouring defence. And even further biased towards Resistance on defence.
That first junkyard map where you have to plant the bomb on the door is ridiculously hard considering all the vantage points defence had
on the flip side gaming got cheaper after this shit because i started pirating learning i couldnt trust shit people say about vidya.
When a fast food restaurant chain asks you if you want a video game, what do you say?
E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy.
Bought it on release, loved it.

Deception IV. Nothing but fucking regret. I assumed it was an upgrade from Deception III.
I was so wrong.
LISA on /v/'s recommendation, I haven't actually touched it for more than five minutes because I realized it was an RPG Maker 2k game looking at the menu.
I'll probably play it properly eventually, maybe.
Thought it was going to be like Dark Souls lite, hate it so far, everyone moves like their stuck in molasses and the art design is mostly wow tier shit
Why is that a turn off? Tons of great shit has been made in RPG maker, just avoid stuff that uses default RTP tilesets
Thats like hating every FPS/Action game since 2009 because it uses Unreal engine
For some reason I expected something vaguely like Dark Souls
Boy was I wrong
What a wild fucking ride that game was
Both games are like super personal favorites for me though
EDF Insect Armageddon was another one though and that sucked ass when I found out there was very little actual missions
I was hoping for a game that was like the PS2 .hack games
I don't even like SAO
Can someone help me understand why this game sucker so bad? It's not like it's that much different from the first 2, yet it's so much worse somehow.
Yeah, it's on the easy side but the post game dungeon kind of makes up for it. Aside from that the story is simple but cute with good characters and tons of humor. And the music is really great.
Speaking as an RPGmaker dev who made a fucking short game for my friends in the sonic community ages ago, I know how dark that can be, but I don't think its right to just shut it out. I find it fascinating just to see the kinds of shit others do that I couldn't. inspires and gives ideas, yknow?
