Is there any reason to not just go 4 mages? The other classes seem so weak in comparison, granted i'm not super far yet.
4 mages is cheesing the game, and making it trivial and boring, put the difficulty to nightmare and use an mmo style party that compliments each other eg, tank healer, support, and dps.
Game is now 10x better.
Backstabs are a miracle of the universe - rogues put out insane single-target damage. Also pick locks, but locked chests usually don't have any particularly good items.
>4 mages is cheesing the game, and making it trivial and boring
Cheesing, yes, but it's definitely not boring. Rolling with 3 mages is pretty damn fun.
Hey guys. I finished Origins about a month ago and I absolutely loved it. What's the correct order to play the DLC in so that my save file imports correctly into Dragon Age II? I only have the vanilla game; I plan on buying the version that contains all of the DLC.
Also, if I'm playing DA:O and DAII on 360, is there a way to import my save file into the PS4 version of Inquisition? I plan on getting a PS4 and Inquisition eventually.
I participated in an Origins thread a few weeks ago and it was one of the greatest /v/ threads I've ever come across. It was strange. Trolls were ignored, there was extremely deep insight into the characters and story, and everyone got along even when opinions differed. I hope this thread is like that.
Who did you all romance?
I fucked Morrigan, but I ultimately decided that I would prefer to stay with Leliana. I couldn't imagine breaking her heart. Morrigan was pretty cool about it.
I killed Zevran when the Crows attacked me in Denerim. Fuck that guy.
You choose companion characters based on who you find more interesting as a companion, not for their combat skills.
Don't tell me you need group optimisation to beat this game.
Spent the whole game trying to fuck Morrigan and I succeeded in the end. Leliana left me after I chose to destroy the dragon shrine or something, didn't really give 2 shits about her so yeah.
So basically I should buy the 360 version of Inquisition? I heard they're not releasing the DLCs on the older consoles, which is bullshit.
I've heard, but I really dislike Let's Plays. I enjoy seeing how games are for myself because often times my opinion differs from this board. For example, I enjoyed Dark Souls 2 just as much as the first one. Even I don't like II, I'd at least like to experience the story firsthand.
With that being said, who did you guys have in your party generally? Or, if it's easier, who did you rarely use?
I liked Oghren as a character, but I acquired him so late that I never ended up using him because I was already used to using Sten as my tank. I never used Zevran either; why use him when I have Leliana, who I recruited earlier and I enjoy better as a character? I'd hate to be gay and have him as my only romance option.
You really don't understand how poor Dragon Age 2 is compared to Origins. It's no joke. Before DA2 came out in 2011 this board used to be a haven for Bioware discussion. Mass Effect and Dragon Age threads were filled with people trading opinions and stories about characters, builds and playthroughs. This is a game so incompetent, lazy and deceptive that it fueled a hatred for EA that still burns today.
>Sten only gets one Specialization while everyone else gets two
Why? Why does the best party member get shafted?
Morrigan's romance is actually kinda cute if you follow it all the way through.
Something about making the friendless, emotionally vacant, reluctant party member experience love and kindness for the first time makes me happy.
Nope, you still need a rogue to unlock shit and disamr traps. Also if you are playing on harder modes you need a warrior to be the tank for the group until you get the magic warrior specialization.
>correct order to play the DLC
Awakening, then Witch Hunt.
Amgarrak doesn't affect anything, but it might break some save flags, as far as I know. Just play it at some point without keeping the save from it.
Oghren, Shale and Top Lel (stabby, because fuck archers) is by far my favorite party and companions. Have to do Orzammar /Deep Roads early, but it's worth it.
>Morrigan hexing the shit out of everyone, with the eventual damage spell if needed
>The Warden using pure damage magic
>Wynne healing and buffing
>Alistar as tank wearing the best gear
I can't read moonrunes, but from some of the illustrations, it looks to be various quotes from the characters. Such as Leliana pestering Morrigan about giving her a makeover or Wynne trying to tell Alistair where babies came from.
>there are people right now in this thread who didn't spare Loghain
I don't get this. DA2 is bad. I get that. But it's not unplayable bad. It's tedious and the story is poorly written in a lot of ways but I've played some actual unplayable games and DA2 doesn't come close.
I do have to admit though that I had to mod it with as much shit as I could to soften the blow when I decided to play through Origins/Awakening/2 after DA:I came out. Didn't make the game good because there are no mods that make it a different game but it was relatively more fun with than without.
>Have to choose between Loghain and Alistar
I haven't played DAI
>Not being a sassy brown city elf walking around and telling shemlen to check their privilege
Won't spoil it then. For all its fuck ups, I thought DAI had some tough choices in the main quests.
If there's one thing worse than an ordinary elf...
