Yes. Then after you kill the second wave, the giant city spawns above you and loses another 2 waves at once. It was so hard because you couldn't just dodge them since all the bombs were so scattered and random. They also did massive damage.

While in the dungeons every monster you kill drops Omega Power which ups your character's breast size. Every time you go up a cup size your health is restored and stats increase. Breast size and stats reset every time you leave dungeons though.

There is an item appraisal minigame you can do in the dungeons that involve giving Paizuri to an item crystal. Plus theres a lewd rubbing tapping minigame you can do outside of dungeons in order to get permanent stat increases

The game actually runs in 60fps on Vita

They're like corny B grade movies, it's about giant insects invading the earth, though there are also other enemy types like warbots, small ships and a godzilla type monster. Last level of 2 is basically you against the giant enemy mothership/city that covers the entire sky. 2017 is a port of 3 but the better of the Vita games is the 2 rerelease. Classes available in 2 are
infantry: standard ground soldier that has different types of guns and rocket launchers/homing missiles

pale wing: flying soldier that reloads weapons using the same energy tank it uses while flying so be careful to not accidentally reload on an empty bar or else you'll overheat yourself and be grounded while you wait to recharge. Primarily uses laser type weapons like laser lances, beams, and lightning sniper rifles

air raider: mostly support class that relies on calling in for artillery support from gunships, cannons, missiles you target via a laser pointer, turrets, satellite lasers, etc. Also has a sticky grenade launcher as its only normal gun,

Forgot to say that Air raider also has the capacity to use the vehicles sometimes provided in missions more effectively than infantry (pale wing can't use them at all). Vehicles in 2 are hoverbike, tank, and helicopter. 2017 also had a small mech but it was pretty shit and unwieldy.

Trails of Cold Steel is a turn-based RPG set in a military academy.

If that doesn't turn you off on principle, you'll probably enjoy it. It's a good game besides that.

How much can I expect to pay for a Vita? All the big stores sell them used for around 185 and used for around $140. Will I be able to get one cheaper if I'm patient or should I just suck it up?

I'd be a lot less reluctant to buy if the memory card didn't add another $80 to the price tag
