Its a late Christmas miracle you guys! I cant fucking believe it!
They're running out of high places to jump from, so on they go with the fucking pyramides. GG Ubisoft, so fucking original.
I'm ready to bet the one coming after will be set early 20th century New York, with the first skyscapers being built. Fuck those motherfuckers.
>Set in Egypt
I've always wanted games setted there, but I'm scared they'll fuck up
Besides, the AC series is really meh
>mfw climbing pyramids
>mfw climbing the fucking Sphinx
>Going further back in time
Oh boy I can't wait to have all the gameplay and equipment scaled back to having a pointy rock on a stick. Why are they so afraid of making a WW1 game?
It's honestly a smart move. An extra year could have a huge psychological affect on players' perceptions of the game and will make the release of this one feel "Special" rather than the usual tired cash-in. They'll have more time to make an actual good game and players will be fresh to play AC.
>set the game in france during the french revolution
>somehow manage it to make it not about the french revolution at all
>set game in england during the victorian era
>somehow manage to make it most of the dullest and boring experience and a story so asspulled beyond belief
THEY HAD SO MANY RESOURCES AND POSSIBILITIES TO DO IT RIGHT AND THEY STILL MANAGED TO MAKE SO FUCKING BORING
I just don't understand it I have better ideas about the storyline and the world in 5 minutes compared to how the handled it
Why are assassin's creed games so popular? I just finished Black Flag, I really enjoyed the sailing and ship shit, but outside of that the standard assassin stuff wasn't really that great. I would have liked the game more if they didn't make it an assassin's creed game and just focused all on the pirate side of things.
this is bullshit. these are the few games I can play with my gf each year. she's a history buff and games like syndicate where you can live through a time period is perfect.
I don't give a shit if it's buggy like unity. just release it.
Were great fun and a complete breath of fresh air. 2 came out and improved on practically everything and people wanted more. Then with repetition comes stagnation. Blackflag was unique in that it offered something new again, yet Ubi seem to just ignore the desire for full on pirate games and went back to their now boring formula.
How is syndicate and unity for busy work? Ever since 3 (possibly sooner, I can't remember) they just cram as much boring bullshit as possible to pad out the game.
I recently finished Rogue and it had a retarded amount of random collectibles.
Won't matter. AC needs such a overhaul that this won't make a difference as its audience is set in stone.
Its interesting also since they will basically cut out all the gadgets and additions to the series.
I hear 2 is really good, but are the mechanics as similar as they are in black flag? Stealth to me just felt like a hassle, I tried to be stealthy when I could, but most of the time I just ended up going full kill mode. The missions where you were forced to go stealth were also a bit of a pain.
FUCK SO THAT DEV ANON DAY EARLIER WAS REAL
THAT MOTHER FUCKER PREDICTED IT
DID ANYONE SCREENCAPPED THAT THREAD?
Well obviously the gameplay will be behind since it's a much older game. But the sheer lack of arsenal makes stealth in 2 almost a requirement. There's no guns and I can't remember but I don't think there's any raged weapons at all.
Ezio's story spans 2, brotherhood and revelations though.
Maybe they're just redesigning the game from the ground up like they're doing Far Cry Primal.
Skipping a year to analyze the game from the ground up seems like a smart idea for Ubisoft.
>tfw unity has microtransaction chests in game
>character scramble-slides up the steep pyramid because the engine is still the same piece of shit from the Unity game
Actually scratch that, you'll have another zipline. Or maybe some kind of helicopter backpack or hat.
>Ctrl + F "We w[uz]"
Damn it, /v/.
>Maybe they're just redesigning the game from the ground up like they're doing Far Cry Primal.
>like they're doing Far Cry Primal.
Oh boy, underage alert
Primal is a LITERAL reskin of 4. That is not "from the ground up". The animal tame bullshit is just the Shanghai-la tiger AI, all the takedown bullshit is still there, all the animals and animations are from FC4.
The only additions to Primal are a melee blocking system, throwing your melee weapons and that is it.
>No Assassin's Creed GAME in 2016
>We get this though
Exio used poison since Altiar said it's no longer against their creed.
And he also had a gun built into his gauntlet, but this was slow and clunky and not as optimized as the later installments.
Apparentely you'll have an eagle pet too.
Yea, it was.
Go back to the Venice missions during carnival.
Leonardo makes Ezio a gun mounted to his wrist.
Heck, the best way to kill your main target during the festival is with the gun.
There is really no point in playing the games anymore. Its the reason they gave up on any kind of continual story in the present. Nobody sane would ever play all those same gameplay games to get to know the story anymore.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I WAS JUST PULLING SOME BULLSHIT OUT OF MY ASS AND FUCKING KOTAKU AND GAMESPOT JUMPED ON IT. GREAT GOING GUYS, QUALITY JOURNALISM RIGHT THERE.
I'm so fucking giggly at the moment. The amount of unprofessionalism in those places is just astounding. Those 'reporters' should be fired on the spot.
Reminding people that there was no ID photo or any kind of proof. The guy just told that the lack of AC at E3 2016 is going to be his confirmation
The newest AC is such a cluster fuck. It runes even worse than the French one, yet it looks worse. There is literally no story at all, they just gave up entirely. You only dick around with character missions. I just couldnt even start playing it. Every AC yet I finished, but this time I cant even manage to get few hours in.
The only redeemable quality is that Jacob is the first assassin ever smart enough to not sew an assassin insignias all over his outfit and actually blend in with the crowd. The girl on the other hand might be the worst of them all.
Also Shaun and Rebecca managing to stay entirely insignificant yet present in 8th game so far. Just let them die already. Its not worth it anymore. I bet not even third of modern player base know who they are.
So a random "my dad works at Nintendo" tier post on /v/ is now PROOFS?
India wouldn't be a bad setting desu
I was hooked on the modern day story until Revelations. That killed it for me. It went to shit in AC3 and after that they scratched out the modern day plot entirely. I mean fuck, the game isnt even about animus anymore.
>"hold on my sanji, a Mr. Parker is having trouble with his Dell laptop, please travel to these coordinates to fix the problem"
>Full sync: Leave a "how was your problem handled" survey at the scene
I did care, but I know I was in the minority. Plus if they continued any story, then they would completely lose on any newcomers. I mean come on, who would now play 8+ games with exactly the same gameplay to get to know the story?
PCfag here. GTX 760, have no problem running any other game on high without dipping under 30 fps, not even Witcher 3. Then again, I pirated it, so maybe its the crack. Though I herd people complain about the performance on legit games. Anyway, French one got the cutie girl with awesome hair and lighting. Victory have no excuse to run like shit. I mean come on, it doesnt even have that one mirrion troops like french had.
We're literally getting one of those shitty Chronicles games this Friday. I think it's in India. We get one in the Russian Revolution this February.
Why the fuck they keep putting their interesting settings in 2D sidescrollers that nobody wants is beyond me. China could have been gorgeous and interesting setting, but it loses a lot of potential by being stuck in a poorly written sidescroller.
>for only 8 bucks a month you can revision your ancestors memories from the comfort of your home with just your TV remote, all you need is a roku and you're well on your way to abstergo entertainment programing.
This franchise needs to die
>enough development time
This has potential, I just hop it really makes up. I heard most of the recent games despite some of its glitches are pretty good. Unity caught my attention as far as graphics go, but glitches made everyone shit on the game and not give it a second chance after it was patched. I'm expecting a slightly more polished game now, even though its bound to have glitches. One thing I'm abit scared is that gameplay will be boring and the story will be lackluster. They need to switch up the stealth aswell. It's dumb as hell for someone to in a hood walking around and not being spotted when he sits down or some shit. They should make the character use actual get aways and incorporate the gamer to change clothes. Also I hope they redesign the way the assassins look. That edgy themed hood is boring and uncreative. Im putting a lot hope on a lazy company.
>I heard most of the recent games despite some of its glitches are pretty good
What horrible person tried to trick you, anon?
>That edgy themed hood is boring and uncreative. Im putting a lot hope on a lazy company
Well they kind of need a hood for sneaking. They dont wear it normally, thats big step up.
Why do they make so many of them? I played the first, found it repetitive but still it was addictive enough to finish and then they improved II which I 100% then started playing Brotherhood and got bored half way through.
Friendly reminder that Cleopatra was ugly as sin and Mark only liked her because of her power.
Try black flag, the sailing really outshines pretty much every other aspect of the series. Just sailing around and seeing a battle between the Spanish and the English while you climb your mast for a great view is fantastic.
Thats how I felt about Venice in ACII, but I'm really OCD about playing games in order. I might still go back and play them but it'll take a while, I really have to be in the mood and I've got a lot of other games with a higher priority.
>instead of northern Black Flag
Yeah, the fact it was developed alongside unity and got practically no marketing and tons of reused assets was a shame. But then, I loved black flag, so more of that wasn't really a bad thing. Still, would be nice to get a proper Tempars creed
From what I heard of it is a rumor from 4chan.
Did Ubugsoft confirm this already?
Also we should see that coming, Assassin's Creed games are getting worse by years since they only trying to cater to as many people as possible.
Everything they did are conservative at best, that's why the game has great scenery but manage to be a generic piece.
Don't be mistaken though. Assassin's Creed games might be shit but it is a cross-products franchise already. Comics, novels, movies etc. The franchise is becoming a pop culture phenomenon and they are trying to hit the mark with the upcoming movie. The whole thing will only go larger if the movie is successful.
And it is really, really frightening.
The source is not just the 4chan guy. Kotaku's own sources also confirmed it.
Some cunts on niggergaf as well.
I'm fucking thrilled. It's made by the Black Flag team, the setting is Ancient Egypt, a complete revamp of the series and the fact that they are taking the year off and stopping with the annual release schedule, instead going for the new-game-every-2-years approach.
What more could you possibly want, Ancient Greece or Rome are basically confirmed too since they re-use assets at least once.
>Ubisoft will go for the historically accurate version of Cleopatra.
>Set in Egypt
Oh boy, I can't wait to play WE WUZ KINGS the video game.
Rogue>BF all day long everyday. Improved mechanics, slightly more diverse setting, better protagonist, better story that kind of ties with the rest of AC instead of ignoring it.
Meh, needs to be in Russia during the White Guard/Communist civil war.
Or even Germany during World War 1/2.
Galina is a cute!
But Berg is best; I hope he kills her in the next game.
Saying it's set in Egypt is like saying it's set in Europe.
There have been a lot of different cultures and sensibilities and occupations in the borders of Europe. Is it going to be prehistoric? Ancient? First millennium? 1900s? The futuristic Assassin's Creed that 3 was supposed to be, set in Neo Cairo?
Egypt means nothing to me. Give me a time period.
Rogue is good, but I have to disagree there. I liked the setting, but Black Flag's comfy Caribbean map felt much better. Also felt like more of a full game, whereas Rogue compared to Rogue.
>really hyped for For Honor
>extremely worried it will be ruined because of ubisoft
They really have hit and miss shit. Rainbow six siege is really fucking fun, but goddamn the servers are so shitty. I've spent hours trying to play before and getting connection errors
>Yearly releases announced
>A lot of people said this may lead to franchise fatigue and lower quality games
>Proceeds to act shocked when the games come out half assed and the consumer base experiences franchise fatigue
I mean damn do these people not listen?
>Assassins creed India
>side missions are to relieve yourself in your favorite designated shitting street
This nigger, right here.
Edward was a horrible assassin since he didn't give a fuck about the order or it's cause.
It was only after a lifetime of getting caught up in their bullshit did he then take an interest.
His son even became a fucking Templar.
Rogue was superior in all ways and showed the Assassins for what they were ignorant, temper tantrum throwing children who don't know what they're doing.
The Templar Order has built entire societies and protect mankind from itself while still allowing them to progress.
May the Father of Understanding guide us.
You dingus. The point of Rogue was to show that nobody's really the best choice for mankind, and that the Assassins and Templars are just bickering children who want to play with First Civilization tech.
>next game is set in some shitskin country instead of the most requested Japan or China
He blamed him for his people problems.
Then at the end once he had his revenge (which is something the Assassins Creed says not to fucking seek) he looks around and sees that it wasn't Charles Lee, it was society and he was fighting to help it continue oppressing.
At the end when Liam said "right or wrong, you betrayed the brotherhood" I couldn't help but think how retarded they were. So the Assassin's don't care about principles now? Just blind loyalty?
>So the Assassin's don't care about principles now? Just blind loyalty?
Sounds a lot like ubisoft. They want us to keep blindly buying the games instead of waiting for them to be good again
>ubisoft is running assassins creed into the ground just to they have an excuse to focus on running one franchise into the ground instead of another
>there will be an assassins creed reboot in your life time
There weren't templars/assassins before the middle ages.
THIS IS THE WHOLE FUCKING REASON WHY UBISOFT SHOULD FORGET THIS ASSASSIN TEMPLAR AUTISTIC SHIT AND MAKE HISTORICAL GAMES IM TIRED OF HOODED FAGGOTS WHO THINK THEYRE COOL
>there will be an assassins creed reboot in your life time
Supposedly this one will be pretty much it. The rumour said chronologically this will be set way before AC1, it's a complete gameplay revamp, also has character development and they are going for "Witcher 3 style."
Gaming journalism has always been about clicks and nothing else. Honestly I could type up some fucking rumor, send my own screenshot of it to a site and they'd write a piece on it, just because the title "new major franchise game rumor" would draw in clicks by the hundreds of thousands, without them having to actually do any work
Was anyone reminded of the Egypt leak a few years ago when they heard this news?
Pic related says PoP but that could've evolved into this Ass Creed instead.
>scaling through construction and having workers either yell at you or freak out when you're about to fall and try to help you up, not knowing what's going on
>faulty spots occasionally are there, and jumping on them/grabbing them causes you to lose footing and potentially fall
>random conversations and laughter from the workers and occasional verbal spits from contractors getting on the lazy ones' cases
>this is somehow bad
Are you kidding me?
Black Flag is the only good one, I played only AC II and AC IV because most people say they are the best but AC II is pretty boring. AC IV is good because is the only good game about pirates I have played.
>Game is named Assassins Creed
>Main character isn't Hassan-i Sabbah
why is this allowed?
If there are no goa'luds or ancient aliens, they fucked up big time. Just no hamfisted refrences to moses or the mummy and its golden. The series needs a neat sci fii twist and ancient egypt will fit it. Most people dont know shit about ancient egypt or hell who ramses 2 is.
At least they patched those out. I don't think any of them were tied to microtransactions, just their mobile app and their website game. Now if you're playing Unity, you can open all the chests right away.
>Sands of Times will never get rebooted
>tfw you only got through half of AC Brotherhood
>Haven't played since then because brother sold Xbox360
>Finally gonna play AC Revelations, a game I have been looking forward for years now
Yay. Also, Gonna play AC 3 and that is it, the rest of the series look pretty lackluster and I am still disappointed that the story in the modern day hasn't really progressed and no modern-steatlh AC game has been made yet.
I'd hope they would do this. Not because I hate Creed or whatever, but because if they kept going as they were, the franchise would've died. They need to level it out more now so people have the time to "miss" it. Not that it matters that much considering so many games follow Creeds playstyle now.
This is the biggest reason why I might get into AC again after abandoning the series after III. If they're going back in time to Egypt it might be to delve into the plot of the Ancients again, and that was like the driving narrative that really built my interest for the series in the first place.
>>Set in Egypt
>pro-muzzie this time
>instead of helping Karl Marx, you'd be helping Allahu Akbar himself (get Aisha)
Ubisoft is like a crazy person in a deep hole. Instead of climbing up, he digs deeper, downwards.
Watching their descent to destruction may be entertaining.
>Gonna play AC 3 and that is it, the rest of the series look pretty lackluster
3 is probably the worst game in the series. You can tell it was like a dozen of their studios working on different shit and they frankensteined it all together because one studio had no idea what the other was doing. The first 6 sequences are a god damn tutorial then you had all the town building fluff. If your still hellbent on playing it whatever you do do not play the dlc.
>try to spew out 4 shit Asscreeds a year
>they're all shit on both technical performance and game content
>each of them bombed
I GUESS YOU ENTITLED GAMERS JUST DON'T WANT HIGHLY POLISHED, AAA INDUSTRY ASSCREED ANYMORE, HUH? UGH I CAN'T EVEN
>The Assassins (from Arabic: حشّاشين Ḥashshāshīn) is the name used to refer to the medieval Nizari Ismailis. Often characterized as a secret order led by a mysterious "Old Man of the Mountain," the Nizari Ismailis were an Islamic sect that formed in the late 11th century from a split within Ismailism, itself a branch of Shia Islam. In time, the Nizaris began to pose a military threat to Sunni Seljuq authority within their territories by capturing and inhabiting many unconnected mountain fortresses throughout Persia (and later also Syria) under the leadership of Hassan-i Sabbah (who is typically regarded as the founder of the Assassins), therefore founding the so-called Nizari Ismaili state. While "Assassins" typically refers to the entire medieval Nizari sect, in fact only a class of acolytes known as the fida'i actually engaged in assassination work.
you are actually playing muslim game all this time anon, only idiot call it SJW games because feature muslim...
muslim is FEATURING the SJW all this time
Fuck, I wanted to see Ubisoft run it into the ground til it was worth nothing. I mean at least CoD is fun sometimes. Ass Creed has been consistently ass since Brotherhood.
Well, when I get an Xbox 360 again, I will finish Brotherhood.
Eh, maybe. I am backlogged as fuck on viedo games, and I am not a big fan of ships.
Gonna try it.
Still gonna try it. That hatchet/hidden blade combo looks pretty sick.
Can any one name a more creatively bankrupt company than ubisoft.
Every 6 months its another ass creed, every shooter they release has to be a Tom Clancy, when they do release a new IP it's Tom Clancy meets Ass Creed (watch dogs) Also where is the next rayman game? Fuck you more let's dance shit. at least EA can garner the occasional hype with Titanfall and Battlefront (the former being actually decent) And what the fuck is Aisha Tyler still doing up at E3 she is a literal b-tier comedian if even that and everyone else has wised up and put people who actually work at the company on stage.
Fuck Ubisoft man. The only saving grace of theirs is that they are more than content with fucking up their own IPs then buying other ones.
Anyone who wants a Chinese/Japanese AC clearly hasn't studied either's history. Their politics were retarded and/or boring shit. Their wars were 99.999% peasant versus peasant or death squads massacreing civilians/farmers.
The romanticized samurai and ninja were not real.
2, brotherhood,revelations, blackflag
that is all
No. The way it is set up, they can literally keep spitting out sequel after sequel.
>Either set the game in London or France again and be a German/Austrian/Ottoman spy and make it so that the Triple Entente were Templars
>Or set it in Berlin/Vienna/Byzantine and be an Entente assassin/spy while the Templar are in control of the Central Powers
>Fucking useless because the most important thing about WWI was the trench warfare, which is fucking useless for the climby climby jumpy jumpy game
>The most emotional part of the game would be when the best friend and/or lover of the assassin turns out to be dead as a senseless casualty in the trenches, nothing else of worth
This is the worst idea because what the fuck would they even do?
Going backwards by over a thousand years gives them the potential to redo older eras.
Hell, you would think the Three Kingdoms era would be full of assassinations and shit. No clue how they would add in templars to China or Japan though. If they didn't go backwards in time, this era would be perfect for Japan
>Japan forced to open its borders for trade, tons of Western influence previously that was just made more open
Easy time to add in a Templar plot and assassins stopping them from taking over the land. Basically both factions jumping right into a new land.
>"We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. But of course Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft's overall boss] announced we are a yearly title, we ship one game a year. So depending on the setting, depending on what fans want, we've given ourselves room to fit more in this arc. But there is an end."
>"There's been a bit of confusion in that [Ismail] once said that Assassin's Creed has an ending--that's not exactly true,"
