Take notes Lords of the Fallen this is how you copy Dark Souls.
The true dark souls experience is only on PC.
I meant more on a gameplay level. It might be because it is in early development but the combat felt snappy. It didn't flow like a Soul game combat system.
Also until we know more the Nippon magic he is using seems reminiscent of the Signs in Witcher.
Colour me fucking hyped as shit.
ITT: Copies Dark Souls and Witcher 3
You guys have started playing vidya in 2010. How old are you faggots?
There are plenty of PS1 and PS2 games that have the same style. This type of gameplay is not foreign to Japan. You just haven't been exposed to it.
Without DSFix the PC version of Dark Souls is identical to the console version but without the blighttown fps problems. What PC gamers find unplayable is what console gamers are forced to deal with.
And even then it still takes less than 3 minutes to download and install the mod, that's nothing compared to how much time you save on not looking at loading screens compared to the console versions where loading times are 2-3 times longer than on PC.
>yfw oracle of ages copied dark souls 30 years ago
>all these fags comparing it to Dark Souls
Im getting too old for this place
>yfw zelda 1 copied dark souls level design 56 years ago
It is factually true, the PC version also got the Artorias of the Abyss content earlier than consoles did, which is often cited as being one of if not the best part of the entire game.
pcucks have only played das1&2, missing out on both demons and bloodborne. that's literally only half of the series... and they had to beg for them too ahahahaha
>mfw the only good souls game pcucks have played is das1
>the absolute worst part of dark souls
Call me when the levels make my dick rock solid again
If you don't see the obvious Dark Souls influences, in this trailer and the gameplay presentation, you are one delusional fucking faggot.
People are fully justified comparing the 2 games, with or without mentioning Onimusha.
>/v/ is literally so underage that they say Onimusha is a ripoff of Dark souls
>I don't know how to hack or mod my games on a console
Fixed it for you
Dark Souls 1 is a terrible PC port because it's literally the exact same as the console version (but due to better hardware the blighttown fps issues are fixed regardless). The PC port is terrible yet it's still a better version than the console versions even without DSfix which fixes the port completely.
Dark Souls 2 is a good PC port with the only issues being the durability loss (fixed already) and delay on mouse inputs in SOTFS (which doesn't matter when the games are designed for and best played with a controller).
I own a PS3 and played Demon's Souls, but don't want to buy a PS4 for only one or two games that interests me.
You can simply quit the game and load your character and he will be back up the ladder. Not being able to slide down literally like 3 barely used ladders doesn't somehow ruin the experience.
Too bad is the worst souls game.
I think i got at least 600 hours in DS1 and 2 on console and I haven't met a single cheater.
on PC infinite hp was the norm.
>I think i got at least 600 hours in DS1 and 2
Just picked this up and have been playing it a lil bit at a time.
I swing wildly and die alot so I understand git gud now. My question is, what should I be trying to do? Should I be swing once, move off, swing after an attack, move off......or is it more than this? More complexity?
Yes. Armor is divided in 5 parts. It's a bit hard to read but I think it's 2 weapons, a long range weapons, ammo. Head, body, arms, hip (?) and leg armor. Two accessories. Three shortcut items. Three protection somethings (can't make it out), one main, two sub.
I hope there is character customization.
I totally am gunna make Samanosuke if so.
Well shit, oh well I guess I could pretend it's Oni4 Samanosuke.
Either way, I'm very hyped for this.
If anything is 3d person and looks challenging people will compare it to Souls games most of the time unless its literally Bayonetta/DMC levels of fast and crazy.
Its pitiful i know but its just what they do. Then once they pick up the game its usually too much for them since Souls games are more patience then a real challenge. Outside of real situations like Fume Knight/OnS/BB DLC where there is shit that is challenging then they bitch and quit and say its too hard.
As long as Hayashi isn't the director the game has hope.
This would already be my confirmed GOTY if Itagaki was still around and inb4 Devils Third a game made with no budget , switching engines constantly , a weaker console and honestly at that point just being released on principle.
>Beat Sakaki with a wooden sword he made from a oar on the way to the duel
>Cheap ass faggot
Kill yourself Musashi used all the tools at his disposal to win on the battlefield and duels to the death. Cheap is a word used by the loser who can't adapt and has a poor philosophy on battle.
>Muh casual customization
Didn't matter in Souls games looks wise doesn't matter here. 99% of people in Souls games never even see their character and the whole customizing is just armor/builds.
Probably some assblasted Waifaggot
>game by team ninja
>trailer tries to make the game look easy
I for one am not getting fooled.
And made him wait three hours before even showing up for the duel.
It was hardly honorable and I'm pretty sure Miyamoto would have gotten killed by Kujiro if they just had a duel out of random.
I am seeing way more Onimusha and Genji then I am Souls. I don't just mean the Japanese aesthetic either. The combat seems to be more based on quick, flashy and decisive blows as opposed to finding timing windows. It's more about Issen hits then just finding the right time to engage. There is also the dodging mechanic which does look Souls like, sure, but lots of games have roll-dodges for I-frames. It doesn't make sense this guy rolling with all that armour on though.
>Taking stab at Lords Of The Fallen
>It's a Japanese souls-like game
I feel if this had been a game being made outside of Japan then your point would work better.
I mean you just kind of naturally expect various different japanese developers at this point could all make decent souls clones.
I will say though that the Witcher aspects and Souls aspects respectively are a little too blatant.
Still looks interesting.
It's copped the bloodstain and summon system from Souls (Which was itself originally influenced by Onimusha), but it's built upon it a little. Apparently, you can touch bloodstains of fallen players and fight an AI-controlled avatar of them for a chance to get a piece of their equipment that they died in.
>fast and fluid gameplay
>a dark souls copy
AYYY DUDE TEAM NINJA ONLY MAKE TIT GAMES ANYWAY LOL LMAO
I understand Koei is only the publisher...
But those sound effects, and many of the visual effects feel like they're ripped straight from a Musou game.
Also, that doesn't even look remotely like souls anything. Just cause it has lock on, doesn't make it a souls game. To me, it looks more like Onimusha and maybe a bit of Way of the Samurai. (With the way parries seem to work.)
LOTF was a Souls "clone," but this doesn't strike me as very similar.
