Is the The Witch and the Hundred Knight the best Nippon Ichi game?
Witch was disappointingly mediocre. I expected a much better effort out of them.
>rapid swings in difficulty
>almost zero customization when they are a dev known for autismal levels of customization
>really barebones mechanics
Soul Nomad is still my favorite NIS game. They hit all the marks with that one.
Also good taste.
Real talk, what's the appeal? I've owned it for a while, but I always feel like I have no dosh and I'm underpowered. Like I get it's the joke, but why would I want to /play/ that? I just ended up dropping it.
See, I feel like that's a reasonable conclusion to draw, but I don't think so. I feel like I just don't know how to approach it, to be honest. The moment-to-moment gameplay is fun. Whenever I'm back at the HQ, though, I remember I'm broke and all the gear I just ran with is busted. Feels bad.
