>spend $50 on an AAA title
>around 20 hours of gameplay, pretty mediocre
>spend $10 on a used game for an outdated console
>infinitely more fun, over 100 hours of gameplay
Anyone else kinda hate it when this happens? Used game thread?
>Make a game of the year list from 96 to modern day for /v/ thread
>have no problems picking favorite and great games every year until 2008
>Suddenly it's all gone and there's nothing good to choose as GOTY with a few exceptions that are mostly just kind of decent games instead of "awesome" and are only GOTY cause of how shit everything else is.
Man, I only buy console games on eBay nowadays.
Fuck GameStop. Even BestBuy is killing GameStop in deals.
It is a sad world we live in.
I just bought SMT IV on eBay for $9. GameStop wants $45 for the same used copy.
Brought Lost odyseey on ebay for £4, disk 1 doesn't work. Get a £4 refund on the purchas but can keep it. Spend £2 in a used gamestore for another copy of Lost Odyssey.
>I'm up £2 and 8 disks for 1 game
This is why it pisses me off when people say PC gaming is dead. No you little shits there's always tons of good shit you haven't played yet. This year I beat the thief series and blitzkrieg 1 and 2. Didn't touch a AAA game and had a cheap blast all year.
Maybe PC gaming comes with an obsession over graphics and outdated control schemes, but I can look past that and have that rare thing called fun.
This is why I only buy AAA games if I know they have great multiplayer because I can spend over 100 hours on that
I pirate the rest
Here's one of my dogs
I rarely spend more than $20 on games nowadays unless it's something I really want to play right away. For PC I just wait for steam/gmg sales and for console I always buy used from ebay/thrift/pawn shops, unless I find a game I want in the clearance isle at a department store.
>mfw I found some of my best games in the bargain bins, wish they still had them.
I mean the actual bin, not these cheap little college-dorm wire mesh shelves.
Legacy of Kain
I've been meaning to get into emulation for precisely this reason, but i'm lazy as all hell and i keep hearing stories about optimization and having to scroll through settings over and over.
I just want to play crystal chronicles again dammit.
>spend $60 on AAA title
>get a 5 hour interactive movie
>"Wow that was great! Well worth the money!"
>spend $15 on an early access game
>play for 100+ hours
>"fucking bullshit devs never finishing the fucking game. i swear to fuck these lazy jews i'll never buy this shit again"
DLC included. I've jumped from map to map, but none of them are truly clear (there's still hearts and Skulltulas I've got to round up on even the base Adventure Map). My highest character is Link, at level 169, my lowest (that isn't DLC) is Wizro at 55. Everyone else is somewhere between those two, usually closer to the 90 ~ 100 mark.
I at least have the Divisive Plans for easy leveling. Still need to unlock the Ganondorf one, but the Twilight Map is not a friendly place for sub-level 100 characters.
