as a videogame, it should give you some idea of the consequences of your actions, especially at the very start of the fucking game, before it has even offered you a tutorial

finding out 5 hours in that you missed out on thousands of XP and an extra sidequest just makes you want to stop playing

I did let them die and found out afterwards. Was a little annoyed but whatever. It was definitely too early to throw something like that at you without indicating there were actual consequences. Would be cool later in the game though.

I loved when the heli-jet gets shot down over Shanghai and Malik is stuck inside. You are constantly told to just run away and leave, rightly so as the odds against you are ridiculous and Bell Tower have some serious weaponry there.
On my first play through I did run and that was that, until you see Malik's body being harvested for her augments.
My second play through I had upgraded the revolver with exploding rounds (totally op, no need for any other weapon in the game), I had loads of ammo and decided to kill all of them. I managed to save Malik and felt like da baws. I was hoping for some malik pussy for saving her ass, or at least a little head, nope. I think you get some bonuses? I can't remember.
