After not playing any games for a few months I'm back into it.
Currently playing Final Fantasy 2 for the PSP, I played 1 in July.
Pretty fun, story and characters are better, but I preferred the leveling system of 1.

I haven't had any problems with the bosses yet, but I'm unsure of how to train my magic. I feel like I'm mainly just attacking, not casting. Is this normal, or should I have a dedicated mage?

I always have a dedicated mage, but since training magic is broken in this game, you can train it with anybody with no problems. Everybody should know cure and have a high level in it. Just spam "cure all" when not in battle and damaged, and you will raise levels fast.

Magic trains extremely slow later on, as with any other skill. Just spam whatever you like in battle and it will raise up decently until then.

If anything is wrong, I played Dawn of Soul on GBA, but had no issues just doing this.
