Is it really that unfeasible 200 million dollars and counting can create something that's never been done before?
I just dont understand all the hate.
Do you think this game will ever be finished /v/ ?
>Do you think this game will ever be finished /v/ ?
Yes, but will it be something 100% original? I doubt it. I still bought the game.
The problem is more the sheer amount of promises they made that are almost all way over the top. Add on the crazy prices for buying ships and that's where the hate comes from.
Dunno I spent $30 and figure I'll get something fun out of it by the end. At the moment you can see the framework coming together, but it still has a hell of a long ways to go. Universe crashes like mad for me right now.
I can't wait to watch the assblasting when this shit isn't even a shadow of what was promised.
>The problem is more the sheer amount of
Autists who are trying to make this game SUPER RP. The forum is annoying to read, it's all 30-40 something wanting to RP everything.
>"hei guise can I be a news reporter in gayme? can I get ingame moonies for it?"
I have complete faith in the man who directed this
Yeah I know, just the fact that there's a $12k package for a digital game that hadn't shown any proof of ever living up to the expectations is what i meant. I really don't care what retards spend money on, I'm just saying that brought a bunch of hate.
Yeah that's my plan now as well. I just bought it cause it was on sale and Hanger 41 or whatever was included still.
What I don't understand is how CIG can afford to pay their staff?
They've raised $100 million so far, but they supposedly have a studio of 300+ people? 100 million wouldn't even cover all the staff's wages for a year, let alone other studio expenses.
Are the CIG developers getting paid $10,000 a year or something?
>Is it really that unfeasible 200 million dollars and counting can create something that's never been done before?
Yes, as long as Chris "project-killing feature creep until I'm forcibly removed from the company" Roberts is involved.

I dont really know the answer
The original pitch wasn't that incredibly impossible to begin with. Take the guys that worked on Cryengine and make it work for space, be able to walk around a ship and man stations, EVA, shoot people, perform a few professions, and also land on planets.
The only thing that has significantly changed is the quantity and quality of the ships and landing locations, more professions, and flying in the atmosphere of the procedural planets. Only the last one was not expected to be in the game anytime near release, but it turns out that the Crytek devs they had been swallowing up were wizards.
