I have strict Asian parents that never let me play games. My only exposure to games in my childhood was browsing forums and watching videos. As a result, my experience with games is mostly being familiar with them despite never having played most of them. Never played any of the Mass Effect games but I can tell you why the ending sucked. Never played an MGS but I can tell you the difference between Naked and Solid Snake. Today I watch Twitch streams instead of playing the games I want to, even though I have the freedom to do so.
Because of this dichotomy I feel like my entire hobby is actually just talking to people about games, instead of actually playing them. When Shenmue 3, FF7 Remake and TLG were announced, I cheered along with you guys, despite having never played Shenmue or FF or any Fumito Ueda games. I feel like I'm a stranger within my own hobby.
My favourite Zelda game is Oracle of Seasons. I don't give a fuck about AAA games and usually never play them. Final Fantasy II is a pretty comfy game, and I can understand the hate for it, but it's still good. I mostly play emulators, and my favourite game is Final Fantasy V.
I pretend to like brogames to fit in with regular people as much as I can but my work has been recently counteracted by them having found out I like "fucking nerd shit dude what the fuck are you playing"
Anthony Burch isn't that awful of a person, but I still don't understand who would let him write an entire game. Undertale was alright. I think Hotline Miami 2 was more fun than the first one, though the music was worse most of the time.
