Yeah the dialogue was still cringey and the story was still silly and nonsensical, but I enjoyed it far more than any of the other poorly written, self-important 5deep10me garbage from this clusterfuck of a series.

Basically all the 2D games are bad because they all have huge flaws and/or bugs

6 also is devoid of any kind of subtlety or interesting mechanics. It's just status spam from enemies, and the same old elemental weakness or cheese strategy despite being 6 games on. Thank God they changed things up starting from the 3D titles

Only 5 isn't bad. Sure the enemies are kind of obvious but it had a superb game system (3's is poor in comparison) which alleviated the situation of boring AI

VI sucks, enough with the VI dick sucking. Bland battle system, unmemorable characters, boring story, and graphics that were one year removed from getting BTFO by Chrono Trigger. Both V and VII are much more successful in what they set out to do than VI and IX is better than all of them

Those people are fucking retards. The first one is an abridged version of the first few episodes with important parts cut out, and the second one is just fucked outside of the final fight and the few moments of Asuka development.
Also all FF games have their own merits, and most are different enough that it's not fair to compare them directly.
